Liberal Takeover?
Radio Network Plans to Succeed in Pushing Liberal Agenda

By Jake Tapper

March 11 — They are the stars of the most listened to talk radio shows in the country: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Michael Savage. Not a liberal in the bunch.

Air America Radio — a self-described "progressive" radio network — hopes to change that.

Four stations in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco will launch programming for a liberal radio network that hopes to conquer the airwaves and replicate some of the feisty spirit that has worked so successfully for conservatives in the last decade.

"America is divided," Mark Walsh, chief executive officer of Air America Radio told ABCNEWS. "Anybody that doesn't understand that or acknowledge that is in denial." In this division, Walsh says, "is a media opportunity — sad as that may sound." Because, Walsh says, "in divisiveness comes debate. And in debate comes entertainment."

In other words, in a country divided into red Bush states and blue Gore states, there are many who see green.

'You Will Never Ever Be Their Friends'

For years conservative talk radio has dominated the political airwaves. It got to the point that right after the Republican Party took control of the House and Senate in 1994, Limbaugh was named an honorary member of the freshman class.

"You will never ever be their friends," Limbaugh told Republican freshmen in December 1994. "They don't want to be your friends. Some female reporter will come up to one of you and start batting her eyes and ask you to go to lunch. And you'll think, 'Wow! I'm only a freshman. Cokie Roberts wants to take me to lunch. I've really made it!' "

Limbaugh warned the freshman not to "fall for this" and "get moderate' and "start trying to get liked."

Ten years later, many Democrats — particularly those in the party's left wing — think their party has similarly cashed in their principles.

Viacom just validates our direction. They know about QBID & they know about the interest in QBID on the message boards! If we get that "soft launch" in May they will not beat us to market.

All Viacom has done is confirm the fact that you made a good investment when you bought this stock!

"These are the good old days!"

LOG CABIN REPUBLICANS? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. WELL WHAT-EVER PROMOTES THE STOCK.
http://www.logcabin.org/logcabin/index.html

Help Us Defend Our Constitution

The radical right started a culture war. We have to make sure they don’t win. Log Cabin Republicans are leading the fight to defend our Constitution. Log Cabin’s $1,000,000 effort, including our ad campaign, lobbying effort, and grassroots mobilization, continues receiving tremendous support from around the nation.

This week, Log Cabin started airing our new television commercial in California. For the last two weeks, the ad also has been running in Washington, DC and seven states around the nation.

The number of times this advertisement is broadcast depends completely on how much support we receive. We need your help to defend the Constitution. The success of our effort depends on your financial support!

Lesbians on Television

The 'L' Word

Showtime’s new series, The L Word, puts lesbians front and center. For the first time on television lesbian lives will not be relegated to supporting roles. This show will revolve around the lives and loves of a group of Los Angeles women, most of them lesbian and bisexual.

Premiering January 18, 2004, The L Word will feature an all-star cast, including out lesbian Leisha Hailey, Jennifer Beals, Laurel Holloman, Mia Kirshner, Karina Lombard, Pam Grier, Katherine Moennig, Erin Daniels and Eric Mabius.

Lesbians are involved in all aspects of the show’s creation. Ilene Chaiken, the show’s creator has been with her partner for 20 years and has been pushing the show’s idea for years. Writers include Guinevere Turner and Rose Troche both who were involved in the Lesbian movie Go Fish.

The show centers around a long-time lesbian couple, Bette (Jennifer Beals) and Tina (Laurel Holloman) as they try to get pregnant. Their next-door neighbor Jenny (Mia Kirshner) is a fiction writer who recently moved to L.A. with her boyfriend Tim (Eric Mabius.) Jenny finds herself attracted to Marina (Karina Lombard), owner of the café the friends hang out in.

Other friends include lesbian heart-throb Shane (Katherine Moennig), closeted professional tennis player Dana (Erin Daniels), bisexual journalist Alice (Leisha Hailey) and Bette’s straight half-sister Kit (Pam Grier.)

So far reviews of the show have been good. Keep checking back to Lesbian Life for updates on this ground-breaking show.

Note: 2/10/04. Based on the success of the first few episodes, Showtime announced it has renewed The L Word for a second season.

Did you watch? Share your opinion of The L Word on the Lesbian Life Forum.

Is permitting gay marriage such a threat to American society that it needs a constitutional restriction? Or have gays just replaced blacks as the minority community that is openly discriminated against? By c.e. adams

ASK OLE FRANK WHEN MY LIMIT ORDER WILL FILL AT $2.00.

YOU'VE SEEN THIS BOARD. YOU SHOULD HAVE A GOOD IDEA ABOUT WHAT'S UP.

HE WONT ANSWER SPECIFIC STOCK QUESTIONS BUT HE WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ABOUT THE STATUS OF BROADCAST, WHY THE WEBSITE ISN'T UPDATED MORE FREQUENTLY, WHAT PROGRAMS ARE CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION AND WHO'S IN CHARGE OF THAT WITH CONTACT INFO.

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF ADVERTISERS AND WHAT IS THE PROBABLILITY OF BECOMING A NON-PPV-CHANNEL. ASK ABOUT THE STATUS OF SHARE BUYBACK AND GET SPECIFICS IF POSSIBLE. HOW MANY SHARES ARE HELD WITHIN THE COMPANY, HOW MANY RESTRICTED AND HOW MANY FLOAT WITH AN EXACT NUMBER OR GOOD APPROXIMATE HE CAN GIVE YOU. IN HIS OPINION, ONCE THINGS ARE UP AND OPERATING, WILL QBID GO UP FOR SALE/BUYOUT/TAKEOVER/MERGER OR DOES HE INTEND ON MAKING TNN ANOTHER CBS OR BET?

TELL HIM EVERYONE FROM THE BOARD SAYS HI CAUSE WE ALL KNOW HE READS OUR POSTS!

The noise from Viacom should be good for us. It validates the direction of QBID's business plan. We shall see.

duke...well, i'm not a nascar fan, literally, it's more of an excuse to get out of the house and do something different and hang out with my boys, drink beer in the a.m. and check out the action. personally, i prefer indy or formula one and i don't really follow the trends. we usually go to these races because we live so close to the raceway it would be a shame not to. it's like if you lived 5 miles away from the Dallas Cowboys stadium and every Sunday you braved the traffic that goes to their games without actually being interested in what it feels like to experience the game first hand. i'm a qbid fan, first and foremost and don't u forget it. ;-)

Ok Folks. First real response I have received myself. I emailed my local cable company and heres the response. If you guys want to make serious money, I suggest emailing them just to recommend the showing of Triangular Network. Even if they aren't your provider, Cablevision is huge in the Northeast & if they get alot of requests for them, we might be having many parties! Get moving.

Re: Cablevision Contact Us

Good Afternoon: Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the availability of carrying Triangular Network Station on our cable system. Suggestions from our customers are important in helping us determine which services to add to our current programming lineup. Although we would like to add every service that is developed, due to a limited number of channels available, we cannot always accommodate every request. We do our best, however, to provide those services that have the widest overall appeal to the customers we serve. While we do make every attempt to accommodate programming requests to satisfy customers' preferences, factors such as technical limitations, contractual obligations with programmers and federal government regulations may limit our ability to honor each request that we receive. While Triangular Network Station may not be added at this time, there is a possibility it may be added in the future. I am responsible for sending a tally of all program requests to our programming Department to let them know what customers in your area want added to their line up. I will be sure to include your request for Triangular Network Station. As always, we will keep you informed of any new programming offerings as they become available. Again, thank you for contacting us to express your programming interests. We always appreciate receiving comments and suggestions from our customers. Thank you for choosing Cablevision. Sincerely, Kathy C.

I found this article this morning (3/31/04) at:
http://www.datalounge.com/datalounge/news/record.html?record=21134

"Viacom Mulls Gay Network -- Again

LOS ANGELES -- Viacom Inc. is said to be resurrecting plans for a premium cable network featuring gay-themed programming, having placed the concept on the back burner earlier this year.

The channel, informally known as Outlet, has apparently been revived at MTV Networks, according to industry reports. MTV had been working on the project with corporate sibling Showtime Networks, where the idea first took root nearly a decade ago.

Showtime chairman and CEO Matt Blank said last July that development of the channel had been indefinitely suspended, citing the bleak prospects most new cable services have recently faced.

Unnamed sources told the Hollywood Reporter, however, that MTV Networks has confirmed that Outlet is back in business exclusively under the aegis of MTV Networks and its chairman and CEO, Tom Freston.

Resurrection efforts are still in the preliminary stages, but Brian Graden, president of entertainment at MTV and VH1, is expected to direct its development. MTV declined to comment on which MTV executive was being considered for the channel's oversight."

Just more evidence that the timing is right for this kind of a concept, why else would they have decided to resurrect the idea....or are they worried that TTN (qbid) will beat them to the punch! It's gonna happen

"Gay channel back on the fast track?

By ANDREW WALLENSTEIN

The Hollywood Reporter

Viacom is reconsidering a proposed premium cable network featuring gay-themed programming that it relegated to the back burner earlier this year.

The channel, informally known as Outlet, has apparently been revived at MTV Networks, according to published reports. MTV had been working on the project with corporate sibling Showtime Networks, where the idea first took root nearly a decade ago.

But Showtime chairman and CEO Matt Blank said in July that development of the channel had been suspended indefinitely, citing the bleak prospects most new cable services face.

But sources at MTV confirmed that Outlet is back in business exclusively under the aegis of MTV Networks and its chairman and CEO, Tom Freston. Little is known about the venture, with resurrection efforts still in the preliminary stages, but Brian Graden, president of entertainment at MTV and VH1, is expected to have input in its development.

MTV declined comment."

I agree, just make sure you use an email address like yahoo.com or hotmail.com... if you use your local cable/DSL address (e.g. pharmdman@tampabay.rr.com), they'll know that you aren't possible $$ for them!!

I'm kinda curious as to why Viacom get's all the media attention devoted to them at just the thoughts of reviving an idea they decided to scrap.. when Triangle is only one month from it's launch date.. and hardly a peep in any news categories that I watch or follow.

Just not quite fair .

Is it just my thinking or is TTN just not shelling out enough dollars to promote this channel due to the fact that it is just a soft release date and nothing is set in stone as far as the full time 24/7 airing of the channel.

any thoughts on this...???

I like competition... but looks like the little guy is gonna get slaughtered if they don't press some bigger news headlines ASAP. Viacom and MTV are big enough to get a station up and running within 30 days time IMHO. Kinda scarry thought. Plain and simple they have a bigger bank account.

I think I need more caffeine!! I just posted this on a gay tv bashing message board:

"Channel for straight white men?! Are you serious!! other than lifetime, BET (and their spinoffs -- Oxyen, etc) it's ALL television for straight white men!! Between Nascar, WWF, Baywatch and the rest of the Neandertal drivvel, I'm ready to heave! If you don't want a gay channel, then don't order it! If you get it anyway as part of a package, then let me introduce you to Mr. Remote Control !! This is America, we are allowed to have choices! If you want everything dictated to meet one person's ideals, then let me introduce you to Mr. Castro, Mr. Hussain, and Mr, bin Laden !!"

Sorry, just a little touchy this fine AM. LOL

Although, it did give me an idea... I've been doing this search (+Viacom +gay +Outlet +2004) and then posting information about TTN to give everyone who is gung ho about a gay channel an alternative!

I HAVE A QUESTION? DOES ANYONE RECALL WHEN GZFX 1ST WAS POSTED ON *********BOARD. WELL I DO. I REMEMBER MACH-MAC-CABBAGE--WOOTER=PS690-TIGERTOP-BETITALL-MISTKA=PRESUMPUTIOUS AND 100 AND 100'S MORE AND WAY TO MANY TO MENTION.

THE POINT BEING WAS THE GROUP THAT PULLED TOGETHER THAT MADE THAT STOCK WHAT IT IS TODAY. IMHO--THE STOCK WILL STILL MAKE IT--BUT WOULD IT HAVE THE SAME SUCCESS WITHOUT THE PULLING TOGETHER OF BELIEVERS? MY GUESS IS NOT. I THANK THAT GROUP AND NOT TO LEAVE ANYONE OUT BECAUSE THERE WERE SO MANY WHO MADE THAT STOCK WHAT IT IS TODAY. OF COURSE IT IS FAR FROM FINISHED. THE WORK POTENTIAL. I PERSONALLY GAINED SUBSTANCIAL FINANCIAL GAINS AND I AM SURE OTHERS DID ALSO. BY THE WAY THANKS. ( I ALSO CHEWED YOUR *&^ WHEN YOU ALL GOT OUT OF CONTROL.) I AM SURE YOU DID NOT FORGET THAT EITHER. LOL

PULL TOGETHER AGAIN!! YOU HAVE ANOTHER STOCK HERE THAT MAY HAVE THE SAME POTENTIAL. YOU ALL KNOW IT CAN NOT BE A ONE MAN SHOW!!! ALTHOUGH MACH YOU GAVE IT A H*&L OF A GOOD TRY!!! LOL

MAKE IT WORK AGAIN. PULL TOGETHER. EVEN IF THE NETWORK DOES NOT AIR--THERE IS AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE MADE--JUST ON THE SPECULATION. MASSES ARE JUMPING ON BOARD EVERY DAY. I DID NOT BUY GZFX TIL IT WAS .025 CENTS. STILL MAKING A BUNDLE BUT THE BUNDLE COULD HAVE BEE LARGER. LOL

I WOULD LIKE TO APPOLOGIZE FOR MY LAST POST AS IT WAS A LITTLE GRUMPY. I NEED HELP.
NOBODY LIES HERE--NOBODY PUMPS AND DUMPS HERE. EVERYONE DOCUMENTS AND CONFIRMS. THAT IS WHAT MAKES IT WORK.

THANKS BOB FOR A GREAT BOARD. CONGRATS AGAIN. AGAIN--ONE CAN NOT DO IT ALL ALONE AND I HOPE WE HELP YOU AS MUCH AS YOU HELP US.

IMHO--APRIL 1ST WILL COME AND GO AND HAVE LITTLE AFFECT ON QBID. THE STATION HAS TO LAUNCH. END OF STORY.
