A lot of big buys going through since U4TS, "a lot of small buys going through" post above. Volume doesn't concern me that much having that the higher we go in PPS, the less shares people can buy. And since we are trading sideways, people are on the sidelines waiting for a move, up or down. A finish in the range of .0025 and .0028 would be awesome for a close this week. QBID is holding on its own. Next week, another PR? Who knows.. Peace im out. [This message has been edited by mistikal07 (edited March 19, 2004).] IP: Logged |

God said, "Adam, I want you to do something for me." Adam said, "Gladly, Lord, what do You want me to do?" God said, "Go down into that valley." Adam said, "What's a valley?" God explained it to him. Then God said, "Cross the river." Adam said, "What's a river?" God explained that to him, and then said, "Go over to the hill......." Adam said, "What is a hill?" So, God explained to Adam what a hill was. He told Adam, "On the other side of the hill you will find a cave" Adam said, "What's a cave?" After God explained, he said, "In the cave you will find a Woman." Adam said, "What's a woman?" So God explained that to him, too. Then, God said, "I want you to reproduce." Adam said, "How do I do that?" God first said (under his breath), "Geez....." And then, just like everything else, God explained that to Adam, as well. So, Adam goes down into the valley, across the river, and over the hill, into the cave, and finds the woman. Then, in about five minutes, he was back. God, his patience wearing thin, said angrily, "What is it now?" And Adam said, "What's a headache?"

The British doctor says: "Medicine in my country is so advanced that we can take a kidney out of one man and put it in another and have him looking for work in six weeks!" The German doctor said, " That's nothing, We can take a lung out of one person and put it in another and have him looking for work in four weeks!" The Russian doctor said, "In my country medicine is so advanced we can take half a heart out of one person, put it in another and have him looking for work in two weeks!" Not to be outdone, the american doctor says, "You guys are WAY behind. We just took a man with no brain out of texas, put him in the white house, and now half the country is looking for work, and the other half is preparing for war!"

For years, several in the U.S. have dreamed of starting such a venture patterned after the Black Entertainment Network, but enormous startup costs, reluctant advertisers, distribution challenges and perhaps even late timing within the gay movement have brought significant obstacles. After a series of false starts, Triangle Multi-Media Limited of Palm Springs also launched a 24-hour network last month -- but no one can see it yet as the company works out distribution issues. Earlier this year the company sought to be carried on Echostar's DISH network, but various disputes arose over costs and DISH's objection to the original name Gay Television Network, which was changed to Triangle Television Network. Triangle spokesman Frank Olson says the company is now pursuing distribution on cable companies and is also in early discussions with DIRECTV, with hopes for some pickup of the network by late this year. "The difference between us and PrideVision is that we don't have the must-carry rule in the US," says Triangle spokesman Frank Olson, referring to guaranteed channel distribution in Canada. Triangle has already spent $6 million in mostly private investment so far and projects a $12 million budget for its first year – though the other $6 million remains to be raised. The network plans not to carry commercials but will have sponsorships like those on public television. The company has 31 employees, including five sales people, four in programming and other support staff. Olson claims that the company's recent advertising has attracted 19,000 people willing to pay $65 a month to get the network as soon as it is available, and that they have already provided their names and credit card data. Meanwhile, year-and-a-half old Miami Beach-based C1TV (c1tv.com) claims on its web site that it also has plans to go 24 hours at some point. C1TV did not return calls for details or comment. Currently, the small group creates just several hours a month of original content. While CEO David Sine declined in past interviews to specify the group's amount of investment ( C1TV Debuts, But Is Gold Under the Rainbow?, Jan. 10, 2001), it has used the money to get US rights to the British "Queer As Folk" and "Two Fat Ladies" cooking show to help grab viewers' attention. Sales of the "QAF" series on video and DVD in partnership with PlanetOut Partners have exceeded $500,000, according to PlanetOut executive Megan Smith. Showtime, MTV and HBO Consider Gay Programming Too This year, major players Home Box Office and Viacom's Showtime and MTV networks began exploring the idea of gay programming too. HBO considered a block of gay programming that would have combined its original content such as "If These Walls Could Talk 2" and "Six Feet Under" with recent gay cinema hits like "Trick" and "Broken Hearts Club," along with older movies like "A Star is Born" and concerts from Madonna, Cher and Bette Midler. But HBO insiders say the idea has been put on hold, as the company didn't want to simply repackage content without also developing dedicated programming. A few weeks ago, research firm Greenfield Online polled gay respondents about their feelings on the possibility of a subscription-based, 24-hour gay channel and suggested it might be produced by Viacom properties MTV or Showtime. Poll questions suggested the plan would offer not only repackaged material but also original talk shows with gay hosts, music video shows, dating/relationship game shows, stand-up comedians, and coverage of gay and lesbian news and events. The idea follows the successful launch of "Queer As Folk," which has won Showtime much attention and ratings, and reveals increasing interest in the power of gay viewers. Earlier this year, the network launched the gay market's largest-ever ad campaign, estimated at $4 million for gay media alone. Meanwhile, Canada's HMG says it hopes to connect with an American distributor by summer 2002, though technically its satellite footprint already covers the states. The company declines to say who its potential partners would be. Selling A New Medium to Advertisers PrideVision is now pitching ad agencies about the opportunity to reach a potential gay audience of between 2.1 million and 3 million in Canada, which lacks a strong national magazine. While the opportunity may seem alluring to some interested in the gay market, HMG must convince sponsors to try a costly new medium to reach gay audiences. It doesn't look to be easy. Indeed, PrideVision launched without charter advertisers and, likewise, QueerTelevision went without much advertising for two years and Canada's Showcase cable network reportedly also had trouble selling the edgy "Queer As Folk" to marketers. The trouble is, television ad time costs more to buy and few advertisers have appropriate commercials that can speak directly to a gay audience. "If the only (ad imagery) for a car company has a man, woman and kids hopping into a vehicle, it really wouldn't target our audience too well," notes Jason Hughes, director of sales at PrideVision. "They find it a challenge -- they want to, but don't have the creative" imagery available. Thus, getting involved with gay TV demands much greater financial commitment than most advertisers in the gay market have previously offered since ads for gay newspapers, magazines and web sites are cheap to produce, often with some modified text on ambiguous imagery. And up until now, there were so few TV options to reach the gay community that advertisers have not much worried about such questions. "It was tough finding a client to come on board" for QueerTelevision, notes Marci Martin, vice president and general manager at Chum. "This is such a strong niche market, but it's a leap for them to go from print." Perhaps optimistically, HMG estimates the channel will bring in $500,000 in its first year. Revenues on the company's existing businesses for the nine months ended May 31, 2001 increased by 145.3% to $21.9 million from $8.9 million for the same period last year it reported. Nonetheless, with increasingly major media players' involvement, gay television looks to be sneaking its signal onto consumer and advertiser screens. New gay networks and programming, if successful, has the power to bring gay marketing to a whole new level. IP: Logged |

http://www.portlandphoenix.com/television/documents/02958184.asp Exit, screen west 'BOB POIRIER, OCTOBER 15, 2002,' by Don Bachardy, acrylic on paper, photograph by Brian Forrest, courtesy of David Koslow, artist's agent. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just overlook the year-old capers fermenting in filmmaker Bob Poirier’s refrigerator. The man has been busy. Since vacating his favorite stool at Blackstone’s a year ago, Portland’s amiable auteur moved to California to help launch America’s first gay television network. All those production meetings coupled with Poirier’s plans to pitch Hollywood his directorial projects has left little time for domestic maintenance — and the poor dear hasn’t been to a decent white party in weeks. " It’s an incredibly exciting time, " Poirier enthuses, " being on the forefront of gay television feels like a huge milestone in our pink history books. As a community, it’s like staking our claim in the broadcast arena. " After his Portland-produced short Traditional Family Vampires wowed cinephiles on the festival circuit, Poirier was lured to Los Angeles by his own ambition to create queer-themed features in a style best described as Orson Welles on ecstasy. " I was 32 before I could convince myself to leave Portland, " Poirier divulges, " When you grow up in an environment that is essentially the antithesis of the media capital of the world, you tend to underestimate your skills. I just had to come out here and try to swim in this pool. I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t test these waters. " True to form, Poirier dove right in and swam into the arms of Triangle Television Network (TTN), a sort of lavender-lined MGM, located in the Coachella Valley. In association with Time Warner Cable, TTN plans to produce an ambitious array of original programming aimed at gay and lesbian viewers. According to TTN’s Chief Financial Officer, Rene Schenk, Poirier was the perfect choice to serve as the network’s own dishy answer to Diane Sawyer. " Triangle hired Bob 14 months ago as on-air talent for Buzz, a show similar to ABC’s Good Morning, America, " Schenk says. " The show went through several generations of trials and it became evident that the talents that Bob possessed were not only his on-camera presence but also his technical and artistic abilities. " Schenk cites " a myriad of technical difficulties as well as a certain hesitancy by the local management " as the reasons why TTN’s long-anticipated launch and Poirier’s small-screen debut have been delayed. " As a start-up company, TTN has had its share of ups and downs, " Schenk concedes, " but we are thrilled to go forward as we feel that we are addressing an underserved market that is anxiously awaiting our product. Bob is obviously an integral part of our success and we hope that you can soon report that he has become the icon of GLBT television. " Recently, that future icon of the airwaves got another shot at immortality while standing on line at his bank. Approached by a man claiming to represent an internationally renowned artist, Poirier was asked if he would be willing to pose au naturel. Ordinarily, such a proposal results in the photogenic young man being rechristened " Buck Manley, " strapped to the nearest pool table, and featured in a Falcon video titled How to Lube a Guy in 10 Days. In Poirier’s case, however, this improbable Cinderella scenario produced a glass slipper. The artist turned out to be none other than Don Bachardy, an illustrious figure in art-world circles and longtime companion of the late, legendary writer Christopher Isherwood, who’s Berlin Diaries ultimately became the musical Cabaret. " I didn’t know who Don Bachardy was at the time, " Poirier admits, " though he’s world famous and he’s done portraits of everyone from Bette Davis to Jack Nicholson . . . I questioned him a lot about his life with Christopher and their partnership. What I found most fascinating was the mentoring involved as Christopher was a good deal older than Don. It was all about learning to trust yourself creatively and facing your fears about working your craft. I can certainly relate. I’m a filmmaker and an actor, but writing has always been difficult for me. " When Poirier (who was raised Roman Catholic) prayed for a screenwriter, one not only materialized in the form of Steven Rowley, but in a plot development that’s pure Tinseltown, the talented scribe turned out to be from . . . Portland. " We had an instant connection, " says Rowley of his initial meetings with Poirier. " Our rapport came in part because we were both Maine boys and we’re both gay. Also, we’ve both struggled with families that did not quite understand what ‘studying film’ meant. Mine thought I had a future developing pictures at the old Konica on Route One. " Of the coincidences that resulted in his collaboration with Rowley, Poirier says, " It’s strange to go all the way across the country to really make a connection with someone. Steve is a fantastic writer and we share the same quirky sense of humor . . . We’re working on an idea I had for a short about a mother who gives helpful hints on the intricacies of man-on-man sex when she discovers her son is gay. " With Poirier’s comic-strip visual style and Rowley’s keen sense of camp, their first project, tentatively titled Mother Knows Best, is shaping up as an irresistible satire of 1950s Donna Reed–style conventions. " One of the goals for this next short is to solidify myself as a director who can make commercial films, " Poirier notes. " Even though some of my stuff is really kooky and pushes some buttons with sexuality, I want to move into the more commercial end of independent fare. " As the gay community awaits Poirier’s complete multi-media metamorphosis, the director is prepared to set a good example. First on his agenda is cleaning out the refrigerator, though those ancient capers might make for one riveting thriller. I have a question for Diana: I know that you do a lot of day trading and I was wondering... assuming I can remain under the limit to not qualify by the gov. as a day trader... do you have a reccomendation where to put my $500? I have an IRA with Scottrade already and whithin there I am vested in both Qbid & GZFX and some other non-penny stocks. However, I'm thinking that I may open a regular trading account so that I can take some more risks/ actually start making some cash that I can touch! I don't mind starting off small... a penny here and a penny there can really add up. My other question is that... when you are doing a regular trading account... how hard are hit by taxes? Does anyone know an average... like say 30% or something? I know it's considerabley high if you are in fact labled a "day-trader"... but if you avoid that what is an average. Thanks! I would fall under the under 300 thou bracket... if that helps. e2 IP: Logged |

THERE IS ONE THING I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH AND THAT IS THE SUBSCRIPTION OF WHAT-EVER THE COST WILL BE PER MONTH. EVEN WITH THAT SAID, WHAT I AM UNCOMFORTABLE WITH IS INSUFFICIENT COMBINED WITH ALL THE OTHER INFO I KNOW, WHAT'S BEEN POSTED AND AGAIN, WHAT WE ALL SEE AND KNOW ABOUT RELEASING A GAY CHANNEL RIGHT HERE AND NOW. WE ARE ABSOLUTELY SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER IN ISSUED SHARES NOW. NO SPECIFIC HAS BEEN ISSUED OTHER THAN A GUESSTIMATE. FIRST OF ALL, UNLESS THEY PLAN ON SELLING OR UPGRADING THE STOCK, THE OUTSTANDING SHARES DOESN'T MEAN SQUAT. ONLY BECAUSE OUTSTANDING SHARES WONT STOP A STOCK FROM CLIMBING TO WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR AND THAT IS UNDER $4.00. REMEMBER THAT INTERNET BUBBLE AND THOSE STOCK PRICES?????? SECONDLY, OUR C.E.O. HAS COME RIGHT OUT AND MADE THE STATEMENT "THERE WILL BE NO REVERSE SPLIT WHILE I'M CEO". PRETTY BOLD STATEMENT WHICH FRANKLY I THINK IS THE WRONG THING TO DO BECAUSE OF THE OUTSTANDING SHARES AND MOST WILL SAY HE'S NUTS FOR MAKING SUCH A BOLD STATEMENT. FINE WITH ME, MY SHARES AREN'T SPLITTING. OUR CEO IS GOING TO BE IN A PICKLE IF THIS THING REALLY JUMPS IN SHARE PRICE (OVER $4.00) AND LOOKING TO UPGRADE BUT BY THAT TIME/POINT, I WILL BE IN THE BAHAMA'S ON FINANCIAL RETIREMENT/PERMANENT VACATION SO I DON'T CARE. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT REMAINING A PINK-SHEET STOCK HAS NUMEROUS BENEFITS AND COULD RISE UP TO $20/SHARE WHILE MOST YOU TALK TO AVOID PINKIES AT ALL COSTS AND WILL TELL YOU THAT A COMPANY WHO TRADES ON PINKS IS ONLY HIDING. ABSOLUTELY POSTIVELY WRONG!!!!!!!!! MY CONCERN FOR FUTURE GROWTH IN PRICE IS NOT .01, .25, .50 OR EVEN .75. WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN AT $1.00-$3.00 AND CAN I EXIT 8 MIL SHARES AT MY LIMIT ORDER OF $2.00. EVEN IF THE STOCK JUMPS TO $2.40 AND I PUT MY LIMIT ORDER IN AT $2.00 (YEA I KNOW THAT SOUNDS NUTS) EVEN AT THAT, WILL I BE ABLE TO DUMP ALL THOSE SHARES. SO THERE'S MY .0027 FOR TODAY. MARCH 3, 2006 L2 QBID 4X4.00 RESISTANCE IS AT $4.00 AND IF WE CAN BREAK THROUGH THAT THE SKY'S THE LIMIT.

http://www.thedesertsun.com/news/stories/local/991613907.shtml Media firm to launch gay TV network By Natalie Singer
Frank Olsen, chief executive officer and president of Palm Springs-based Triangle Multi-Media Limited Inc., has announced that the company has acquired all television rights to broadcast the Triangle Television Network. The network will begin nationwide broadcasting on Sept. 5, Olsen stated in a press release. Representatives from the company have declined to reveal which satellite provider will be used until financial transactions are complete. Delays: The announcement comes after a series of false starts. Triangle had previously set Oct. 1, 2000, for the network’s launch, but that never happened. Earlier this year, Triangle again announced the debut of the channel, then called the Gay Television Network, but the launch was again delayed. Triangle consultant Rene Schenk said previous delays were the result of technical difficulties that have now been taken care of. "In order for us to take out a television signal and move it to the Midwest, we need some very complicated fiber optics. The Coachella Valley does not have those fiber optics. This has been a major thorn in our sides," Schenk said. He said the satellite connection has been arranged using Los Angeles as an intermediary point for transmission. "(Sept. 5) is our starting date. We’re carving this into granite," Schenk said. Triangle representatives said the channel will be offered as a premium service to nationwide customers for $19.95 per month. Daily programming will include gay-themed sitcoms, films, game shows and sports events. Triangle has not yet contacted Time Warner Cable to discuss broadcasting the network locally, said Bob Barlow, desert cities divisional president of Time Warner Cable. Reactions: Local members of the gay and lesbian community said they are eager for the network’s launch and are hoping it comes through this time. "It would be a great option for my guests, and it would probably be a great advertising opportunity," said Denise Goolsby, owner of the Bee Charmer Inn, a women’s resort in Palm Springs. "It could also expose the gay culture to people around the country. If this thing gets off the ground, it could really change things." IP: Logged |
