quote: Oh reeeallly..?? What is the nature of this relationship? Is he being paid for his services? Why does Frank bother hiring these 'major' PR firms if he's just going to send some kid into some online forum to spread his news for him? How do you know this guy can be trusted? Since when do broadcasting television networks use random internet characters to do their survey and reporting work for them?
quote: HUH??? People who don't buy into this guy's bs don't deserve to post here or be a part of this stock? What have you been smoking???
quote: Well since they have a habit of using these message forum users to transfer information back and forth, I'm sure they've heard all they need to. The 100,000 phone inquiries couldn't have hurt either...........

1BigTip. I have to agree abit with Robin on this one. do you know him personally? Im not trying to cause problems, but it does seem odd that Frank would go this route and allow it to be this open. I dont doubt that he speaks with Frank but i have to wonder at this type of poster. he falls into the description posted earlier as a pumper. I am not saying that we shouldnt be able to send questions. I would rather the questions be asked without giving them notice. they now have time to prepair great answers that are decieving. and you should know better then to use the TRUST ME line. that always throws up a red flag. all said I am not trying to bash anyone but everyone has the right to post in a public forum as long as the follow the forum rules. You cant take ownership of the forum. Now i hope for all our sakes that we get a big PR in this comming week as we are slowly sinking back. and we all need some forward movement here. Good morning Rod! We definitely need a very positive announcement to at least support, if not increase, the pps. I hope I didn't offend people last night, but it's past the point of smiley faces making everything okay. We need to be heard, and if we don't speak out and let them know our concerns and frustrations as shareholders, then we only have ourselves to blame. ...climbing down off my soapbox now... Hope everyone has a great weekend!..C'mon Q!!! [This message has been edited by RNINALVNG (edited October 09, 2004).] IP: Logged |

i cant say that having here! in ny first is a good thing i'm guessing but paying for 2 g/l channels isn't likely and here! has been up & running on satallite for 2 yrs thus more programming. manhatten is high rent so it might be ok but rcn needs to follow its contract and get q up on its network. the U.S. is in 11th place in cable & broadband systems, close to third world countries have better then us so RCN having out dated equipment is no suprise but its also no excuse to not honor a contract [This message has been edited by bill1352 (edited October 09, 2004).] IP: Logged |

quote: Ummm, no. What it basically says is that people are, in fact, paid to bash stocks. Keep up the good work tweety. I hear you're gettin' close to winning that Scranton vacation. LOL Beware of the Basher! Whether you are fairly new to online investing or a seasoned veteran, you've probably seen the message boards and chat rooms that focus on stocks. Many of these boards make tabloids look tame, churning out rumor after rumor 24 hours a day. Some of the more popular boards are getting upwards of 10,000 posts daily. Here we look at how the practice of bashing takes place on these boards, and how you can handle bashers when you encounter them. The Advent of the Internet What Is a Basher? This practice may seem fairly simple, but there is a science behind it. Supposedly, reputable companies and investment firms sometimes hire bashers to help make the conditions for a takeover more favorable. You see, when one company wants to buy another, stock price is king. If the stock of a multi-billion dollar target company changes even by one dollar, the difference in the price of the takeover can be millions of dollars. A basher who successfully pushes down the price of a stock may receive a very lucrative compensation. How Bashers Get Paid Here are some basher tactics that online chatters should be aware of: Bashers lie! – Bashers have no ethical code that prevents them from lying. They will lie blatantly and often. Bashers usually bash stocks that are more volatile – Bashers usually only go after stocks that could show a large increase or decrease in price. There's a low probability that a basher would ever be able to influence a company with a huge float like General Electric, for example. Bashers will use any news – Bashers will not favor recent news over old news, or vice versa. They'll take information out of context if it will help depress a stock. Bashers exploit investors' lack of knowledge – Most bashers rely on the notion that most investors don't check their facts and, as such, will use false information to sway people. Bashers post frequently – Bashers are a persistent bunch. Through the use of repetition, they attempt to wear down those on the long side of stocks. Bashers can travel in packs – It is common for a group of bashers to enter a chat room quietly and carefully and feed off each other's posts to dominate subtly the sentiment of the room. Who Are Bashers' Prey? Anyone in a chat room who claims to be your friend and have your best interests in mind is likely a basher--after all, why would anyone give good advice for free in a chat room ? It's doubtful that experts such as Warren Buffett and Peter Lynch frequent these rooms. (Read more on Peter Lynch here.) Levels of Bashers' Skills The purpose is to get a reaction from other posters: the more reaction, the more the room will be disrupted. To throw yet another wrench into the works, bashers often send in another person to side with the longs of a stock. Again, the idea behind this is to distract people, and to spread rumors and confusion throughout the room. Not all bashers display such proficiency and dedication. Like any profession or sport, the bashing world has participants at different skill levels. It helps to know how the experts operate differently from the novices, so here is a list of the skills displayed in the different "leagues" (to use a baseball analogy) of bashers: Major League – The major league bashers are excellent at what they do. The better the bashers are at their game, the tougher they are to spot. They are online constantly, always attacking and attempting to make positive postings look unreasonable. Those in the major leagues are masters at manipulation, knowing how to convince other chatters that a particular stock should be sold immediately. AAA – These bashers are able to twist the meanings of words, phrases, quotes, and press releases quite compellingly; however, they do not have the same influence over others as those in the major leagues. AA - These bashers are still learning the subtleties of the art of appearing like a trustworthy, sophisticated fellow investor. For example, a AA basher may react overzealously to comments that question his or her perpetually bearish attitude. Bat Boy – Although this level of basher knows the profession and has known some major leaguers, he or she is utterly useless in the ways of bashing. The bat boy bashers make themselves obvious, using profanity, name calling and irrational arguments. These bashers are easily identified. How to Handle Bashers Do your due diligence. The phrase, "knowledge is power" is no more true than in this instance. Try to post a number of well-researched messages that confound the premise of a basher's arguments. Do not engage bashers directly, but instead post general and open-ended messages disputing bashers' posts. Remind those in the chat room that the mere fact that something is in writing does not make it the truth. Conclusion Cheers, Investopedia Staff [This message has been edited by Just Looking (edited October 09, 2004).] IP: Logged |

THE FACTS ABOUT OCTOBER 28... FIRST OF ALL, THEY ARE SCHEDULING A 1-HR PHONE CONFERENCE. 20-30 MINUTES WILL BE OF THEM TALKING ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE "DOING" AND HOW "Q IS DEFINITELY ON THE MOVE". SECONDLY, THE BALANCE OF REMAINING PHONE CALLS WILL BE SCREENED AND NOT TAKEN AT RANDOM AND WILL PROBABLY BE ALREADY HAND PICKED BY FRANK HIMSELF TO MAKE SURE HE'S NOT SHOWN IN A BAD LIGHT OR PUT HIM IN A POSITION TO ANSWER "REAL" QUESTIONS. THIS IS COMMONLY DONE VIA THE RADIO DJ'S WHEN THE "LIVE" CALLS YOU HEAR ARE RECORDED AND SCREENED AND/OR EMPLOYEE'S THAT ARE WORKING IN THE STATION AND/OR FRIENDS OF THE DJ SITTING IN THE BOOTH WITH THEM MAKING IT LOOK LIKE THEY GET "OUTSIDE" CALLERS. FRANK OLSEN HAS ESTABLISHED HIMSELF TO BE A FLAMBOYANT LIAR. HABITUAL AT THAT. HIS ACTIONS, HIS PR AND HIS CONVERSATIONS WITH PEOPLE ARE JUST THAT; LIES ON TOP OF LIES. FRANK OLSEN IS NOT GOING TO FEED YOU ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE LIES HE HAS PREPARED AND TO CONTINUE WITH THE EXISTING LIES HE HAS ALREADY GIVEN TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AGAIN. AVERAGE CALL. 2-3 MINUTES FOR THE CALLER TO ASK A QUESTION. 3-5 MINUTES TO RESPOND PER CALL. IN A UN-CONTROLLED ENVIORNMENT WHICH TOTALS ABOUT 25-30 MINUTES FOR A TOTAL OF 5 CALLS. AGAIN, THIS WOULD BE A UNCONTROLLED ENVIORNMENT. SINCE FRANK OLSEN WILL HAVE THIS THING SCREENED AND PREPARED, EXPECT NO MORE THAN 10 AND PROBABLY 5 TO 7 PRE-SCREENED PREPARED CALLS. THEN AFTER THIS, WE WILL SEE A PR ABOUT HOW THE PHONE CONFERENCE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS, THE THOUSANDS OF CALLS THAT COULD NOT GET THROUGH SHOWING THE HUGE INTERESTED IN QBID. 97 BOTTLE OF BEER ON THE WALL.... I still think the idea that someone sits around counting replies to someone's posts in order to calculate another guy's paycheck is a ridiculous myth. The funny thing is that a few years ago, another guy on another forum wrote a fake "I admit it, I'm a paid basher" letter. Regardless of the fact that it was an obvious hoax, everyone believed it.. it's a hilarious story that just goes to show how gullible people are. -R IP: Logged |

Another thing to think about is the fact that this Conference Call will bring in new investors. Do you think they'll talk about negative things? No. They will talk about progress and future plans. The new investors will want to jump in. Watch the volume rise these next few weeks.! Enjoy. Look at the big picture, don't let these other fools close your mind! no penny that post was not for you. It was general. IP: Logged |

In my opinion, this conference call is not going to help Q. U4 is right about what is going to happen. Nothing new will be announced, it will just be a rehash of old PR's with a few statements about how Q is moving forward. The questions will no doubt be pre-screned, and no negatives will be specificlly addressed. As far as who handles the call, that is a catch 22. If Frank handles the call, he will no doubt screw it up with his brass tone and profanity ridden mouth. If Rene handles the call, I have no doubt that he will do a better job as far as spoken word goes, but then that will raise questions in everyones minds as to why the CEO didn't handle the call. I will say it again, this conference call is a bad idea. None of the serious questions that most of the people on here have will be answered. Based on Q's past, any attempt to address specifics will only lead to more ambiguity. However, now that they announced this call, canceling it would hurt the PPS. I really think Frank has once again dropped the ball. I have no doubt that after this CC occurs, Frank will issue a PR about how it was a "smashing success". I personally can not wait to see how this goes down. IP: Logged |

quote: Oh you mean why the website isn't updated?? Everyone has a right to their own opinion but to say the conference call is a bad idea just makes you look "unintelligent" EVERY COMPANY HAS CONFERENCE CALLS. GEEZ. I remember calling in a few CC's myself before investing in the company, just to see where they stand, what their objectives were, and what their doing about it. Saying its a bad idea is decieving other peoples views. It's the best idea but I'm terrified they'll cancel it. Delay is no problem. I voted for Rene to speak. No offense to Frank but I think Rene would be a better speaker. IP: Logged |

"Unintelligent?" ok, thanks??? Notice I started my response with "In my opinion" I think you should probably go back and re-read what I said. Unintelligent is probably as far away as possible in regards to my response. I realize that most companies have CC's. Usually, they are a good thing, but like I said above, in Q's case it probably will not be. Ambiguity is all that will come out of it. IP: Logged |

Maybe wrong choice of words but you know that we've been in the dark, so this CC will shed some light for us. At least hear someone speak on behalf of the company. Since we don't have the hotline, we hear nothing. I could care less about the website updating. I want to know more serious issues like when will they be a reporting company. That to me is the most important thing to invest in a company long term. The CC will be good for Q. Obviously nothing else is working. 5 PR's in a row didn't even help. We'll see, we'll all see soon. As a owner of the company and that is what all of us are, I want to know a few things myself. I don't think its too much to ask for either. It just makes it look bad when you don't keep the stockholders up to date. Here is what I want to know. 1) A/S Well can dream anyway can't I. Ric IP: Logged |

I agree Ric and 1Big. I apologize if I came accross as though the shareholders should be kept in the dark and should not be given the answers to those questions, because they most definitly should be given all those answers. My point was that based on the way Frank has confused things in the past, I think this CC will add to the confusion. I don't think he is going to answer the valid questions that you guys raise. I think he will probably only revisit past PR's and tell everyone what we have all already read. He has mislead and misdirected shareholders many times in the past. A good example is the questions regarding the satelite uplink that MSGulf is bringing out. If what he says is true, why would Frank hide it? IMO, its not that big of a deal if the signal is still going through the original satelite or not. Why issue a PR lying about it? Look how many deadlines he has missed. I understand that delays happen, but I can not think of 1 deadline he has met with the accuracy he forecasted. My point was that I do not think Frank will address the things you all deserve to know, which will just confuse and perplex the shareholders more, in turn creating more doubt and uncertainty regarding Q, thus hurting the PPS even more. I would love to be wrong about the way he will handle the call, but based on the way he runs things, I do not think I will be. But you are right, we will find out soon. quote: No, I challenged whether or not that article actually exists on investopedia's website, then brought up a story that points out how lots of people believe there are paid bashers but can't provide any evidence. Oh yeah, the companies are really secretive so we can't tell who's doing it.. that's convenient. I shot a note to the people at investopedia to get more information on their article. Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's true. Heck, if you click the link at the beginning of that page you posted, it takes you to some guy's site where he sells you his plan for how to become a millionaire in a matter of a few years by using his investing technique that will get you blacklisted from Wall Street.. oo oo sign me up! -R IP: Logged |

No problem kb. QBID seems to be the one that has the most traffic in every forum. That's a good sign. People see the potential and thats what creates volume for us. Think back to the 1.8 billion in volume we had. PPS dropping will not help it although. 1 other quick note and I need to take a break from here: For years I've been following or doing DD on other "start-up" companies and almost all of them had a proposed date which was never met. Can you think of a company that either, gives investors their proposed dates and meets them all OR never tells their investors about any proposed dates. IP: Logged |

We are in Accumulation: I wish I can draw out charts for you but we'll have to do with text only. 2004 The formation of a rounding bottom is usually an extended process. The decline in price (.028 - .0070) gradually decelarates until it merges into a section at the bottom which is almost flat (.0038-.0060) which then merges into a gradually accelerating rise. Because the initial phase of the price rise is so slow, the complete outline of the rounding bottom does not become apparent until an uptrend has been established.. If you can predict an accumulation pattern which could become a rounding bottom, you can be more then confident that the price will develop an uptrend. 2002,2003 When a trading range forms, there is uncertainty about whether the price breakout will be to the upside or the downside. If well informed, long term investors are buying within the trading range (.0001 - .0005), the eventual breakout will probably be to the upside (.0001 - .028). But you should not buy the stock until the breakout occurs, because the upside breakout is not a certainty, and the length of the trading range can't be determined in advance. They are accumulating shares folks and it should take a while because there is a huge float. But one thing is certain: The more shares they accumulate, the fewer are available to others and the available supply shrinks relative to demand. As this imbalance increases the upward pressure grows until the price begins to move higher. IP: Logged |
