I'm sorry. This makes no sense to me. Why would you want to be "under the radar" 2 weeks before launch??? Any business, even small business, puts up GRAND OPENING SOON banners. There is no justifiable reason not to be banging the drums. Does anyone really think that Frank thinks another network will whip in and get launched in two weeks and steal Frank's thunder. I try to stay upbeat but these "common sense" issues get to me. If anyone has a good reason why Frank wants to stay "under the radar" PLEASE tell me.

Actually, there's a very good reason. There will be those who object to Q Television, and they could do more damage now, than after Q has already launched. Then there's the chance of people boycotting the advertisers. There's very good reason for them to be stealth-like at this point.

Thank you Win. That does makes some sense to me. Obviously, advertisers and carriers can pull out at anytime (Look how fast Martha Stewart got dropped, for example) but, given your theory, I guess it would be easier if they started without hoopla....perhaps they are launching with my husband's motto: better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission, lol. Still got that nagging feeling in my gut (I'm a police officer, so I'm trained to always pay attention to it, lol) but I will try to set it aside for now. Thanks for helping me sleep tonight.

Matthews Band sued over waste dumping

Bus driver allegedly dumped excrement into Chicago River

Wednesday, August 25, 2004 Posted: 8:24 AM EDT (1224 GMT)

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- The state of Illinois sued the Dave Matthews Band on Tuesday for allegedly dumping up to 800 pounds of liquid human waste from a bus into the Chicago River, dousing a tour boat filled with passengers...

According to the lawsuit, on August 8 a bus leased by the band was heading to a downtown hotel where members were staying. As the bus crossed the Kinzie Street bridge, the driver allegedly emptied the contents of the septic tank through the bridge's metal grating into the river below.

More than 100 people on an architecture tour were showered with foul-smelling waste. The attorney general's office said no one was seriously injured.

RCN press release Aug 23

RCN Files Consensual Plan of Reorganization to Reduce Debt by $1.2 Billion; Plans to Emerge in Fourth Quarter 2004 as Expected
8/23/2004 8:28:00 AM
PRINCETON, N.J., Aug 23, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- RCN Corporation ("RCN" or the "Company") and certain of its subsidiaries filed their Joint Plan of Reorganization (the "Plan") and Disclosure Statement in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (the "Bankruptcy Court"). The Company and the Official Creditors' Committee (the "Committee"), a co-proponent of the Plan, agreed to this plan, which is consistent with RCN's previously announced restructuring terms. The Company continues to expect to emerge from its restructuring process during the fourth quarter of 2004.

"We have worked very closely with the Committee, banks and other constituents to develop and file this plan," said David C. McCourt, RCN's Chairman and CEO. "This plan of reorganization is a win for all of us. As many telecom companies have done before us, we are restructuring our debt so we can remain a strong and innovative competitor in the marketplace.

"We were one of the first companies to recognize that delivering bundled services over a superior state-of-the-art network is the essential strategy in today's telecom environment," continued McCourt. "With the restructuring of our debt, we will be in a position to continue delivering the triple-play bundle to residential customers and to continue rolling out new cutting-edge products."

The Plan will reduce RCN's total debt by $1.2 billion through a debt for equity swap. As part of this restructuring, several additional non-operating subsidiaries have filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under Chapter 11. The Plan is subject to creditor approval and confirmation by the Bankruptcy Court. RCN does not anticipate any disruption of service to its customers.

"RCN has worked diligently with its financial partners to ensure the timely filing of this plan of reorganization," said Russ Belinsky of Chanin Capital Partners, financial advisors to the Official Creditors' Committee. "We are eager to continue working closely with the Company to position RCN for future success when it emerges."

Really Off topic here but, I just have to share this excitng news.

I just left the hospital, I HAVE A GRANDSON!

Very exciting to say the least. My daughter called me at 9:30 PM.
She said she was going to the bathroom and heard a POP and then a gush of water came out. (sorry for the men that can't handle it)
My husband told her I would call her right back as I was putting her little sister to sleep.
I called her back
Within 10 minutes, and she was not able to handle the contractions.
I had Her and her husband meet me and my mother at the local deli parking lot to drop off their other baby, with my Mother.

They have a small car and I have a Durango.

After speaking with her on the cell phone on the way to meet, I could tell she was in hard labor, Contractions 2 minutes apart.
So, I put the seat down in my Durango (just in case),
Took Nancy in my car and had her husband follow us.
She was pretty hysterical when I got her, I got her to calm down and breath as I drove and rubbed her belly, She became calm and began to handle the contractions like a champ.
The hospital is at least an hour drive from where we were. There is the local hospital but, Not very good and no Mat. ward, or labor and del.
So we took a chance and drove. I began to prepare myself for the reality that I would have to deliver this baby in the car.
Her contractions were one on top of another.

We were about 5 minutes from the hospital and She stated to me that she is feeling a lot of pressure and feels the need to push.

Well, Of course I begged her not to.
We got to the emergency room doors, I ran in and told the closest orderly I could find to get a nurse, we are having a baby now in the car.
(The poor guy, you should have seen his face).
Got Nancy into the wheel chair (Squatting on her feet)LOL, and up into L&D, They ripped her clothes off, The nurse checked her and said, "we're ready to push, get a dr. in here".
Nancy screams GIVE ME AN EPIDURAL! NO TIME NANCY!
One push, see babies head, 30 seconds later another push babies head is out, third push baby is out!
Her Dr. didn't make it. So the on call Dr. introduced himself to us as he delivered the baby.
In the hospital at 11:26 and baby out at 11:31. He is beautiful.
Baby Vincent.
7 lbs. 2 oz. The nurse never measured him so, don't know that yet.
He was a little blue and the all wrapped in his cord but, is doing great.
She was wonderful and I am so proud of her.
So........2hours labor, not bad although it's at least an hour drive to the hospital, so.......very exciting. Made it there in 40 minutes.
The cop's wouldn't stop me, go figure! I know My son in law called the state police and warned them of us coming down so perhaps they saw us and just let us fly.
Well, Gotta go.
I'm not going to sleep tonight. LOL

I hope the Q run gives me half the rush I got tonight.

Here he is......

Thanks for letting me brag about my Kid for a bit.

Lil

WHOOO-HOOOO!

GRANDMA!

Could be another slow day or sideways trading. Yesterday made 17% on RCNCQ and 6% on QBID.

If you're looking to day trade it, follow this:

If you want to buy/sell within 30 minutes time, you should be looking at a chart that shows the last 5 hours. If you are looking for a 3-4 day swing trade, look for a one month chart.

QBID's 5 hr chart shows another drop to .0050 or .0049.. QBID's 1 month chart is looking excellent! Uptrend is there. Our bottom was .0038, then .0047, then .0050..We can move up to .0055 easily within 3-4 days.(8%)

ONE NEVER KNOWS. USE YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT.

Bid and ask is not available for OTC (over the counter) pink sheet stocks, only for BB ( bulletin board). Unless you have LIIs available to you which displayes the current bids and asks. Your broker is able to give you bids and asks for any OTC stock.

I'm still new to 'pennys' (3-4 months) but have been reading allstocks a lot. great source for DD and info. hope this helps.

Morning, Q Crew. Thought I'd start us off with some good news, especially for those who remember previous discussions about low-carb ice cream, and its, uh... adverse effects:

Flat-D Offers Solution Where Conventional Flatulence Prevention and Treatment Products Leave Off

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Billed as a supplement to over-the-counter preventatives and treatments for flatulence, Flat-D Innovations, Inc.'s Flatulence Deodorizer(TM) provides odor control directly at the source of the problem. Manufactured with the same charcoal-based material approved by the British Chemical Defense Establishment for use in chemical warfare suits protecting soldiers from nerve gas and other toxic vapors, the Flatulence Deodorizer(TM) consists of a discreet pad that absorbs odors, compensating for when intestinal gas prevention and reduction products fail.

(So now they can be "Silent, but NOT deadly")

Let's have a good day!

You guessed right. Some people on this board have excellent talent digging up info about companies. Typically, good DD is backed up by verifyable facts or links thus helping you to distinguish between fact and rumor. Hint: make you own decisions when it comes to investing. Sometimes people appear out of nowhere and tell you to buy or sell but thet 'can't tell you why'. I ignore that kind of 'advise' if you catch my drift...

33% of the population will complain about Gay TV as it goes against thier christian morals. so in reality every carrier that decides to carry this station will get bombarded with a good chink of thier subscribers complaining.

I know the old arguement is that if you dotn like dont watch it but for some reason the Christians that oppose this feel that everyone should feel the same as them and will expect everyone to conform to thier way of thinking.

Going under the radar is probably not a bad idea. low key yadvertising in gay publications and only hitting the target audience is the way to go.

I know this to be true as my wife is one of these people and she just found out this week what my money is invested in. I am going through hell right now with her

What? More close-ups of the quarterback up against the center?

Or how about this? I can hear it now... "OK, Bob, let's have another look at that pat on the butt, this time in slow motion..."

Or maybe make it a call-in format. Every time the announcer mentions "tight end", the first caller wins a prize...

With my family of all 'men,' thinking I should make an ivestement in Winsum's poot-deordorizer. Wonder if it works for cats as well? HHMMM.

Lets go QBID!
