--------------------------------------------Q Television taps Michael Marcovsky to negotiate cable coverage

By John M. Higgins -- Broadcasting & Cable, 7/12/2004

It took six long years, but gay network Q Television is finally up. Technically speaking. Too bad no one is watching. The Palm Springs, Calif.-based network sends programming to a satellite, where it's available to cable or DBS operators that want to carry it. So far, all have passed.

Q Television, which is composed largely of an eight-hour wheel of old movies and TV reruns, has had a deal with Time Warner Cable for eight months. The catch: It's only a "hunting license." The network has to persuade each local system to take the channel.

As I said two posts prior,,,

We have 15 billion shares authorised & if all of them were in the float & we only realised .01% of our target audience disposable income which weights in at a hefty HALF TRILLION DOLLARS we would be trading over $1 a share!

Basically,,,

Check this out!

Rocky Mountain News, Aug. 28th, Business section, story titled, " Local sports network set to air without Comcast deal" 13th story from the top, when pulled up on the web.

Insightful info and parrallels to QBID, even a Sept. 4th launch date.

What I really liked, was this;
"Still, these types of carriage deals often come through at the last minute."

It's only a matter of time!
Another startup network is the football network.
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/040803/35216_1.html

" On September 26, 2003 TFN began a thirteen week soft launch during which the network broadcast on weekends only. "

" While we still have several hurdles to cross before this deal becomes final, we feel that we can pick up where our soft launch left off last December "

[b] 13 weeks guys! Thats a little over 3 months! QBID started the soft Launch June 1st. Networks take time to build.

By the way TFNK went from .07 in July to .80 in 1 month. QBID can do the same! Should be and will be where TFNK is now.

Good Morning guys...just wanted to say that I see definite parallels between 1Big's football network and QBID...I would think there many things Frank is working on and negotiating that we can't even imagine. I'm hoping that the launch is in September. Whether or not it is the 4th or 15th doesn't bother me much. I would love to have a pr confirming one more carrier. That would make me pretty happy, but for now I'm just waiting.

One thing that I want to see is subscribers come out of the 'closet.' (LOL) I hope the callers for QTN are not investors only, but interested people...Now, if QTN is offered in my area, I'M definitely subscribing...no doubt about that! LOL!

In the NY Times this morning there was a big article about gays and meth (Drug) use...how it is harming the gay community in major cities across America...evidently this is a huge problem and centers are trying to deal with it....another QTN reality perspective....just think it is relevant and interesting to the g/l/ community. And Frank has said repeatedly that this network is for g/l and will cover pertinent topics...Just a thought.

I think Frank and his QTN could bring a lot more awareness of gay related issues to the masses through his network...a lot of good could come of it.

Like I've said in the past and I'll say it a again, there is no network out there that is no worth, meaning there is no active network sitting out there worth 1 penny. You guys will see in september once QBID launches. The football network is a dayumm good example and they even haven't launched yet.

i agree that the football network is an idea of what q should or could be. the only thing they have q doesn't is cox cable and now that comcast has launched the nfl channel i can't see them landing there. q still could end up on both. the main differance is the number of possible veiwers. a few more football fans then g/l's it sure seems easy for them to get money to keep going even the state of LA is chipping in. ya think we could get california to throw some cash our way?. might be hard to get Arnold to chip in

I for one am very pleased that Frank and QBID have kept low key, until they actually get launched (Sept 04). I am not sure that a great deal of publicity would have gone over well at this time. My reasons are as follows: 1. We all know how much opposition the Christian Right can cause in ths country regarding Gay Rights or anything to do with gays in general. You know that they would have launched a massive campaign to derail Q. 2. We are also launching during the GOP convention week, now that would be a great feeding frenzy for those non-gay supporting Republicans. 3. We need to take lessons from our neighbours north (Canada) they have become one of the more progressive countries regarding Gay Rights. This was accomplished, not by big marches and protest, it was accomplished through back room wheeling and dealing with politicians and community groups. Not shoving gay rights on the general population. Their approach to be low keyed payed off. They did not have big protest to piss the general public off, sometimes being low keyed when you are trying something new is a good tactic. 4. Q is launching on RCN, what has RCN got to loose, they need every program that they can get to recover from BK. RCN is willing to take the chance but then again they service areas that have high gay populations, so I would imagine not much protest from the local community if they do air gay programming. Maybe not the case with Comcast, Direct TV, Dish, and Time. It would appear that they will take the wait and see approach (their loss I would think).
IMO Q should get itself broadcasting, then make the major push to advertise, with its feet on more solid ground and some of the public viewing the programming, they will have a broader base for support of the station. We should remember the backlash that was received after the broadcasting of such programs as "Queer As Folk", "Six Feet Under" and "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy". All of these programs have been a great financial success for the networks and carriers who have aired them. Frank, has no doubt learned from his mistakes in the past ( I hope that I am right) and he will wave the QBID flag at the right time for all to see, and not a minute before he feels the time is right. I will continue to support QBID and I tell everyone I meet about it. I know that they will get the customers that they need to continue programming and broadcasting. And IMO my investment will pay off very soon. I know that some of you will not agree with my comments, but hey if you are checking out this board then you must have some interest in this stock. I for one am here for the long run. GO QBID!!!!!!!!!!

Why on earth would you invest in a company if you constantly feel that this thing has no potential. you seem to have the idea that there is no comparison to anythign that 1bigtip brings up. Why dont you find a comparison that fits then and bring it here. I would really be interestid in what you think would b e a good camparision.

how about the pride channel in Canada it went to $6 a share once it went live.

I know you are going to fall back on the O/S count. But you have to fall back to the comparison of subscribers. They did thsi on 25,000 subscribers. i think they have somewhere around 125,000 subs now. that is small compared to the US. there is only 24 million people in Canada, there is 10 times as many people in the US maybe more.
so everything being averaged accordingly i can see no problem getting a $1 a share in time.

so bring on a fair comparision and let us tear apart your dd for a change.

More Actresses Willing to Play Gay These Days

quote:
As female heterosexual characters in television and film continue to be confined to more limited roles than their male counterparts, three-dimensional lesbian characters will only become more and more attractive to actresses, now that the stigma has lifted. The upcoming launch of all-gay channels like here!TV, MTV's Logo, and Q Television will create even more opportunities for this, as these channels create a crop of new series and films with lesbian characters.

From Broadcasting and Cable
This is about Here! TV and In-Demand. It Could be why QBID is not on Comcast, Cox and Time Warner. They are looking at turning it into a network.

Cable is here! inks PPV pic pact with In Demand

Channel hopes to draw viewers regularly as a pay net

By JOHN DEMPSEY

NEW YORK -- here! TV, the cable programming service aimed at gays and lesbians, has signed a deal with In Demand to provide 30 hours a month of pay-per-view movies for video-on-demand, beginning Aug. 1.

DirecTV and EchoStar already offer dedicated channels to Here! TV for its PPV service, which includes original movies the network touts as world premieres or U.S. premieres, at a retail cost of $3.99.

Paul Colichman, president and CEO of Here! TV, said his goal is to turn Here! from a programming service into a full-fledged digital pay TV network. Oct. 1 is the launch date, but no cable operators or satellite distributors have yet signed up for the 24/7 network.

The hope of Here! TV is that the buy rates of the 30 hours of PPV movie programming will be impressive enough to convince cable ops that the service could draw viewers regularly as a pay net. One movie, "Weapons of Mass Destruction," stars Cynthia Rothrock, the martial-arts specialist billed as "the first lesbian action hero."

Unlike Viacom's proposed gay/lesbian network Logo, Here! TV will be a pay channel and will not accept advertising. Colichman said that strategy will allow Here! TV to schedule edgy, R-rated-type programming uncut, the way HBO and Showtime do.

For the VOD offering, Rebecca Glashow, director of content planning and management for In Demand, said the Here! TV movies would not get a dedicated channel but would be part of a category of titles set apart as movies that appeal to gays and lesbians.

Glashow said the cable operators that own In Demand -- Comcast, Cox, Time Warner and Advance/Newhouse -- will give careful scrutiny to the buy rates of the Here! TV movies in order to gauge its potential as a network.

Colichman said most entrepreneurs behind new channels are offering a "traditional diet" of the same kind of programming subscribers already get from other networks. Here! TV is offering different programming.

here's someone's opinion on the football network in relations to QBID.

"Thins Football network is a startup also and look where it is! .45. with a High of 80 cents"
___________________________________
You forgot to mention that it was trading in the $1.50 - $2.00 range for its highs in the previous year. In fact, if you invested in TFN at its high one year ago, you would actually be staring at a 60% loss on your investment.

Did you also mention that this stock never traded below $0.15? I can't remember if you mentioned that at all.

Oh, I'm not sure if you mentioned the float for TFN or not,
"Common stock, no par value: 20,000,000 shares authorized; 6,828,160 ...shares issued and outstanding at April 30, 2004" from the 10KSB http://www.pinksheets.com/quote/print_filings.jsp?url=%2Fredirect.asp%3Ffilename%3D0001011823%252D04%252D000025%252Etxt%26filepath%3D%255C2004%255C07%255C29%255C&symbol=TFN

Now, quick math calculation.... assume 9.5 billion shares... oh, look, share price would be valued at $0.0005, not at $0.65. Not sure if you noticed that or not.
You might have skipped over that part, seeing as it takes away form the imnpact of your pump.

Just throwing out some info there for anyone to read. If you're going to make comparisons, you might as well compare apples to apples, right?
Well, IMO, anyways.

Be careful and don't waste your time. Just keep reminding newbies that any post from these 2 should be egnored.
They contribute nothing to this board but hatred remarks against QBID and a defensive response to positive posts.

There's only one reason why ANY HUMAN would waste their time doing so. Would you go into a thread and start finding flaws about a company? NOPE... you move on and dont invest... ONE REASON PEOPLE.

Be smart.

I disagree with the fact that you think it is U4, but i agree with the rest of your post.

I know that this in not U4 as U4 is alot smarter then this. U4 has an intelect that I admire. This LT is not smart enough to keep his stories conistent, he waivers from post to post. he is just trying to stir up sh*t as he has had a unhappy childhood or something. he finds real pleasure in seeing complete and utter kaos and bickering.

you are correct though that he is only here to try and lower the pps by causeing doubt by twisting the numbers to look worse then they are. He also exhibits the attribute of being very lazy. He is unable to do DD so he raises questions for everyone else to do the dd for him.

HE is however a waite of time to read his posts as all he wants to do is argue. He does however seem to have some sort of infatuatioin with you 1BigTip. which i would take as a form of flatery.

any how World Cup of Hockey starts tommorrow so we get a bit of fill intil the NHL gets thier differences resulved. lets hope this isnt our only hockey events for the year!!!!!!

Rock on Q
