Richard: What is happening with the proposed Pridevision deal? It is my understanding that Pridevision is still not receiving program signals from “Q” although they have the encoder installed, so what is the hold up? Can you please check with Frank et al and advise.

Guys, i know i dont talk alot, but im always listening. and i say lets all not rely on each other about the emails. lets all get er done. take it upon yourself to create 1 email, save it, and send it 2-3 times a week if you can. do not make it rude imo or pressure them. just say that in your opinion, attitudes are turning negative and that we really need a PR concerning carriers, audits, O/S, etc...
now, if most of us actually think "why not help out" and we all swamp them with kind emails about what they need to do concerning Investor relations, then they will probably understand how much they need to tell us about our IR.
just create 1 email, and email it 2-3 x a week. really guys lets swamp em!

If she is so sought after then why this press release: Cheryl Jacques, the Executive Director of the Human Rights Campaign, has been fired. According to sources that wish to remain anonymous, HRC’s Board of Directors voted to replace Jacques with Hilary Rosen as interim executive director. The vote took place in an emergency conference call Monday night.

Viacom/MTV launch LOGO with diverse entertainment, news offerings
By WINNIE McCROY
Say goodbye to gay for pay television. On June 30, Viacom’s MTV Networks Division will launch LOGO, a new cable station geared specifically to the gay and lesbian community. Unlike subscriber-based channels such as the Q Television Network or pay-on-demand channels such as here!, LOGO will be available on basic digital cable in about 10 million homes across the nation.
Under the tagline “Different. Together,” Logo will air both gay-themed movies and original programming, including reality television, documentaries, specials and even gay news.
“This channel is not for a straight audience. They are more than welcome to watch…but it is for us, by us and about us,” said David Bitler, a vice president at LOGO, with more than a little pride in his voice. “We’re talking directly to our community.”
Since the network was first announced in May 2004, MTV has pushed back the launch date twice, during which time additional cable subscribers in major cities including Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York have picked it up, though Bitler said that the initial 10 million homes will also include viewers in the South and the Midwest. The New York City metropolitan area will be covered by cable carriers including Warner, Adelphia, RCN and Atlantic Broadband.
Bitler added that LOGO is currently in final negotiations with CableVision, and is in talks with satellite television and Comcast.
“The fact that we’re going nationwide shows that people are interested in us from both a consumer and a business perspective,” said Bitler.
He said the market appeal of the idea is demonstrated by the fact that LOGO joins an industry segment pioneered by underdog network Q Television, available only on RCN; and Here!, established in 2002 by Regent Entertainment co-founders Paul Colichman and Stephen P. Jarchow, and currently available in more than 42 million households on a video-on-demand only basis.
“Because we’ve been invisible for so long, all of a sudden to have three gay networks is amazing,” Bitler said.
But unlike pay-per-view stations, LOGO will appear on the dial just like any other cable television channel—a fact conservative groups, including the Washington, D.C.-based Family Research Council, have not overlooked. Bitler anticipates further backlash from the right wing over what they are certain to perceive as gay propaganda being pumped into their living rooms. He acknowledged this inevitability, but asserted that “we can not be concerned about controversy, because it would affect our programming, and we can’t let it.”
The station will focus on gay-themed rather than explicitly sexual content, but following standards that guide over-the-air broadcast outlets will still permit ample room for LOGO’s programming, which consists of a mix of original programming, movies, music programs, news, comedy, drama, documentaries and travel shows.

TLA stands for Theatre of the Living Arts, which was an experimental theatre group in Philadelphia founded by André Gregory in the early 1960s. Upon the group's demise in the late '60s, its theatre was turned into an art film house, which was run by TLA Entertainment Group, founded by Raymond Murray, film historian and author of "Images in the Dark: An Encyclopedia of Gay and Lesbian Film and Video." In 1985, the company opened a video store next door to the theatre. Today it owns and operates six stores in Philadelphia and New York City, selling videos of all persuasions on-site, through direct mail, and over the Internet at www.tlavideo.com. But it wasn't until 2001 that TLA Releasing was formed and the company began releasing films theatrically and on DVD, with a primary focus on LGBT-themed work. Just recently it moved into producing as well, with three properties currently in production: Todd Stephens' "Porky's"-style comedy "Another Gay Movie," Christian Calson's romance "Flirting With Anthony," and Richard Bell's street-kid drama "Eighteen," starring Alan Cumming, "Queer as Folk" 's Thea Gill, and the voice of Sir Ian McKellen.
Like its competitors, TLA has good relationships with all the major chains: Blockbuster, Tower, Virgin, Netflix. It has even begun selling movies to Wal-Mart. "The retailers are savvy," says Wolff. "If it's a good movie and a gay movie, it doesn't really matter. The marketplace has changed so dramatically in the gay film arena." The company has sold around 25 titles to the Q Television Network, one of the new gay cable channels, and is also distributing some titles to Here! TV, which also offers LGBT content exclusively.

Gay-themed TV channel in discussion to come to Triad
6-20-05
By Chris Coletta, Staff Writer News & Record
GREENSBORO — At least one TV channel aimed at the gay community soon could hit the Triad’s airwaves, network officials say — and others are likely to follow suit.
Choice Offerings
Programs airing on Here! TV include:
# “Dante’s Cove,” a soap opera about a group of twentysomething gays and lesbians that will debut in October
# “The Hunting of the President,” a feature documentary about “the 10-year campaign to destroy President William Jefferson Clinton”
# “Julie Johnson,” a movie featuring Lili Taylor and Courtney Love, about two housewives who move in with each other
# “Girls Will Be Girls,” a movie about a trio of Hollywood actresses — played by men
Here! TV , a premium service that airs in 42 million households nationwide, is in negotiations with Time Warner Cable to bring its on-demand programming to the Greensboro area, said Karen Flischel, channel general manager .
The deal is in its earliest stages, Flischel said, and lacks a timetable.
But the entrance of Here! into a market with relatively few gay-themed programs — NBC’s “Will and Grace,” Bravo’s “Queer Eye ” and Showtime’s “Queer as Folk” and “The L Word” come to mind — would be a first for cable viewers in the Triad.
Local subscribers to satellite services Dish Network and DirecTV already can pay to get the channel’s programming.
Mark Harrid , a spokesman for Time Warner, said the cable carrier’s deal with Here! allows each division to choose whether to air the channel.
“It’s decided on locally,” he said. “The people of Greensboro would have a better sense of how to serve their people than us.”
But asking the people of Greensboro what they think just complicates the issue.
Supporters and detractors agree that no pay-TV channel is going to create a rift in the community. And nobody’s threatening to boycott a station they never have to watch.
The Rev. Scott Kidd, youth pastor at Willomore Baptist Church in Greensboro, said that while he finds homosexuality immoral, he’s not anti-gay. He just wants television to start airing pro-family shows again.
Here! isn’t helping, he said — and neither is MTV, HBO or any other channel with sexually explicit or violent shows, regardless of whether they include gay characters .
“I believe the big entertainment companies, like MTV and these that are so prevalent in today’s kids’ society, they don’t have any room to accept the traditional values that have been passed down,” Kidd said.
Gary Palmer agreed that TV has too much sex, violence and trashy programming. It’s getting out of hand, he said.
But he insists that it still doesn’t have enough people like him.
The co-chairman of the Greensboro chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network says the culture wars have rendered many gays and lesbians invisible in society.
Palmer doesn’t think he’ll pay to watch Here! because he’s never paid for an on-demand show and sees no reason to start . But if it can help change hearts and minds, he said, he’s all for it.
“I’m not wanting to be some type of other, different thing,” he said. “Most (gays and lesbians) are just saying, 'Hey, let me be part of your community, part of your world.’”
That world could be opening up faster than most people think.
There’s Here!, of course. There’s also Q Television, a similar pay channel that airs gay-themed shows.
And then there’s Logo. Backed by MTV parent company Viacom, the basic cable network will launch in major metropolitan areas June 30.
The Triad is not one of the areas scheduled to debut the network, and Time Warner has no immediate plans to bring it to Greensboro.
“It’s probably more important for (Logo) to reach the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community in Greensboro than for any other city,” said Damon Romine, entertainment media director for the national Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
Gays and lesbians in places such as New York have a sense of community, he said — a sense Here! or Logo could help to provide in the Triad.
IP: Logged |
The launch of MTV Networks' Logo on June 30 means there are now three networks that need to be sure gays and lesbians are well represented in their workforces--the others being here! TV and Q Television Network.
"We have to grow a culture where what we do at work reflects the diversity we put on the screen," says here! TV general manager Karen Flischel. Of the 25 staffers at here!, 45% are gay or lesbian, Flischel says. Search firms, job banks and specialty newspaper ads are used to attract gay and lesbian talent. The network also offers same-sex partner insurance.
At Q, 50 of its 73 employees are gay or lesbian. Q relies on gay/lesbian news organizations and websites to recruit talent, and consults with GLAAD, the advocacy organization representing gays and lesbians. Workplace benefits include partner insurance and an on-site doctor. "That's healthy for a good workplace relationship," says Q CEO Frank Olsen.
MTV Networks e-mailed a statement that noted that it recruits "without regard to...sex, gender expression."

Dear Richard Brown:
I am a new investor in Triangle Multi-Media and was hoping you could answer a few questions for me. I realize they are not a fully reporting company at the moment and as such you may not be able to answer my questions.
Do you know if they are currently issuing/selling QBID stock? I'm not looking for a share count since that is not known but I would like to know if new shares are being issued into the market.
Also, it has been stated that an audit is taking place of Triangle Multi-Media's financial statements and no information has been made available regarding its progress or results. Do you know what accounting periods are being audited?
My final question is regarding press releases. What is the process that takes place for each release? Do you review the statement prior to releasing the information? Or, do you provide the outlet for the company and only re-transmit the statement generated by the company?
I appreciate the time you have taken to read this email. Hopefully, my questions are clear and that you may be able to answer them.
Sincerely,
