Trader O Member	posted May 22, 2004 20:03 Yeah, with the cameras in all the big cities, they could do more documentaries about being gay, the obstacles of gay marriage, and all that. Assuming they have a crew in Massachusetts, they could do a part 2 of their first documentary about gay marriage or a different one altogether. The most recent story is about a married lesbian who is suing a clinic "because doctors failed to detect breast cancer in her spouse". I used to be one of those guys... No one, including the big networks, needs to keep any camera crews on the payroll around the country. If they need someone to cover a story, they'll just get a crew from some local contacts or a union, tell them where to go, and then have a satellite uplink van meet them. They might have a local correspondent if the story requires a body on camera, but for the most part, the camera man and sound guy are all freelancers. Sometimes in the course of history a bunch of seemingly random events actually are loosly related. Even if they're not all these events appear to be headed in the same general direction & begin to glide imperceptibly toward one significant incident which might or might not be coincidentally getting ready to occur in the best of all possible places at the best of all possible times. This incident, in & of itself, isn't the end all be all but only serves to open the door to huge potential.
