Lot of my holds in the red today. Nord would have to get nuked to get me at a loss, since I'm riding free, but I am still hoping for some movement someday to make up for the crappy performance of other oil plays.

Where is everybody getting that you have to hold for a year. There has been nothing stated that they are going to restrict the shares that we currently hold. IMO I don't think you will have to hold that long to see some profits.

Why bother to be on any exchange if shares wo'nt be bought or sold. The company must be anticipating some type of trading, me thinks.

So far, almost all comments being made are pure rumor lacking any factual basis.
Mergers are complex and there are no set procedures nor set expectations. Any comments on this merger are guesses only.
There are some challenges. None know anything about North-West; ownership and value are not available to the public.
A merger of this type may or may not be subject to SEC rules and regulations. NDOL is subject to SEC guidelines, North-West is subject to whatever rules apply in Russia, or possibly the Netherlands if the Geneva registered company is involved in this merger.
The market value stated in news is speculation and not a guarantee. Market value is set by trader perception usually based on financial reports. There are no financial reports for the North-West end of this.
This merger can result in use of current common stock, retirement of current common stock, restricted stock, even issuance of new common stock under a different ticker. None know, at this point, what will be.
Should restricted stock be the end result, my opinion is investor money is lost. This type of stock is a dealth knell. Many of us have restricted stock in our accounts for whatever reason; spin-off, dividend. This type of stock is labeled "worthless" in a brokerage account.
Another challenge is if new common stock is issued, there is a good chance of dilution and severe lowering of share price.
Doniboy, a merger is complex, nothing is known and there are no guarantees. Almost "anything" can happen. My suggestion is you gather as many true facts as possible, perform good research, then make a decision based what is known, what is sure and based upon your extensive experience with mergers like this.
Today's falling prices is part of your factual information and a good indicator of perception out there in the markets.

Imo.. we'll see such trends every day.but the market will close way above the price it opened at.many are waiting to buy more at these dips..so people remember what hapeneded after the last pr.!

Tried to sell, but my order wouldn't go through. I wanted to pick up more shares. I think that I'll just sell a little of another stock that I own. Going to lunch, and waiting on a rebound!

Well, more of hint of what might happen, not really all that informative. Mergers are very complex and a book would need to be written to cover all aspects and possibilities.
Currently, as always, trader perception is the most important "fact" available. Falling prices suggest perception is not good.
None can factually state what the future may bring. This stock could be a big winner or a dire loser, or remain as is.
These are circumstances for good risk management and a good time to not fall for pump claims.

Cool heads will prevail. This stock is going higher, might be today, might be next month...at this point there is no reason to make irrational decisions..

Also is a great time to not sell out of "fear". Do you own DD. Read the PR's carefully, don't base your decisions to hold or sell on what someone else may tell you. Be responsible for your own actions. Never let anyone talk you into buying or selling.
