I was in Vegas the first week of June. Visited the Rio for a couple hours just to see what was going on at the World Series. Saw some pros in action but only during some of the lesser tournaments. As soon as QBID "pops" I will join you in Vegas. I don't think it will be within the next couple of days, but we can always hope.

Bottomliner,
The "big dance" doesnt start till the 7th. Still plenty of time! I used to go for the early events, but they extended the tourney for so long, I just cant wait there for months at a time anymore. Wife and kids, get tired of Vegas in a few weeks::::SHRUG::::.

My wife wouldn't mind a few months in Vegas . . . if she had the money to play slots the whole time. We're planning another trip to Vegas in late August, with or without QBID's "pop". But it would be a nicer trip if QBID was paying our way. I still have faith . . . just don't know the timetable.

I would hardly call a potential reach of one million subscribers scarce. When SIRI got to the million subscriber mark it was trading above $6.00, and even got to $9.00 for a day or two.

Has anyone else here been on QTV… what a rush that was!

Q is one of the big three, and is known by more every day.

Excellent point. Kind of like the Big Three auto makers. I remember when Chrysler was considered the "poor cousin" of Ford and GM. Then Chrysler introduced many superior products and innovations, while Ford and GM just kept doing what they knew best. I can see QBID in a similar scenario. Hope it doesn't take as long for Q to rise to the top as it did for Chrysler . . . but I plan to wait patiently for as long as it takes.

Scarce is in fact the correct term because only a small percentage of those million are gay viewers. So Q is only reaching a scarce # of its expected viewers.

Burger King got big by building next to every McDonalds. It is rare that I see LOGO without at least a mention of QTV. We are a major player in this game, and it is going to get bigger from here.

Wow. We were actually mentioned in USA Today? You realize how huge that is, right?

Anyone remember when Intel released their Pentium processor? Remember how there was no competition from anyone, mainly because "no one can compete with the the pentium", as stated by Intel executives. Indeed, Intel's engineers and labs were years ahead of any other competitor, *AND* they had the brand-name recognition.

Then one day, AMD released a processor called the K6, at 166 mhz to compete with the Pentium 166 and 200 mhz processors on the market. People laughed at them. They were taking on a Goliath. Their price was only 70% of the cost of an equivalent Pentium, but no one cared.

Well, not no one; gamers cared. See, processors weren't cheap, in fact, Intel's were quite expensive. And gamers knew this, and burned out processors on a regular basis trying neat overclocking tricks. And they gobbled AMD's processors up like kids drinking soup after sledding in the winter. AMD kept working, kept learning, kept researching.

By the time Intel's 233 and 266 processors were out, AMD was releasing their equivalents, with not as great a cache, in the order of less than half the cost of the Intel equivalent.

Yet Intel didn't care. Reviewers did though, because those in the media were bombarded by the gamers asking for reviews of the latest cheap AMD K6 processors and comparisons, after all, their friend bought one, so it must not be too bad.

Then the market started changing. The AMD Athlon (K7) Slot A came out while Intel was still pushing the Pentium II. While it was arguably high-priced, and arguably less-performance, it did have one thing that finally scared at least one Intel engineer, it was stable. It was very stable. And it ran ultra-cool.

Fortunately for us today, no one at Intel listened, and the neglect of AMD by Intel as a "less than serious" competitor has given us, the consumer, two equally matched companies today; both fighting for our business. Processors are still among the most expensive parts of a new computer, but they are reasonably priced now, and we, as consumers, have the ignorance of Intel and the fortitude of AMD to thank for it.

So what was this about QTv being a small fish in a big pond?

This is the week for Logo to be Queen of the ball and it’s our time to be a princess. I believe that Frank, along with most of the Cable industry, will step back and let Viacom and Logo take the spotlight. This is a new industry with many unknowns. Viacom will break the ice and take the heat from the anti-gay faction. When the hysteria dies down, Viacom’s competition will want to fill their void in response. The contracts are probably mostly written and just waiting for the right time to be finished and signed. Timing is everything. Our new cable carriers will have an easy out by saying that they have to respond to Viacom’s competitive challenge.

g-invest, to take your analogy a little further. AMD's Athlon FX-57, due out on the 27th, is the best processor on the market. In fact, AMD's FX line far outperforms Intel's Pentium 4s.

Microsoft new 64 bit XP Operating system will only run on AMD's 64 bit processors. In fact Microsoft has adopted AMD's Processors in their Testing Labs.

QTN will grow. Whether they join LOGO or continue on their own.

1 Million customers is nothing to sneeze at. LOGO may boast 10 million cable homes but how many actual viewers will it have.

I have Cablevision and did not knoe it was on until I actually looked for it today after seeing the posts here.

QTelevision may not be the biggest but it gets mentioned with the 'big guys'

What's going on Here! — and on Logo and Q
By Gary Levin, USA TODAY
What's on gay TV networks' schedules? USA TODAY offers a look at programming plans.

Feature film on Logo: Two women (Heather Juergensen, left, and Jennifer Westfeldt) fall in love in 2001's Kissing Jessica Stein.

Fox Searchlight
Logo
MTV Networks' newest channel will fill more than half of its 24-hour lineup with a library of 200 gay-themed theatrical films such as Philadelphia, The Birdcage and Kissing Jessica Stein.
It has acquired repeat rights to HBO's Emmy-winning Angels in America. (Related story: 'Underserved' viewers get new gay channel)
Logo also has a partnership with CBS News for stories of interest to the gay community, and plans Momentum, a documentary series with topics ranging from gay rappers to lesbian surfers.
The network's first program Thursday is The Evolution Will Be Televised (9 p.m. ET/PT), a 90-minute documentary on the emerging visibility of gay Americans.

Logo will provide the first TV coverage of the GLAAD Media Awards, honoring positive portrayals in entertainment (July 24).
But the channel's hot tickets are likely to be original series programming. Noah's Arc (due in October) is a dramedy about a struggling black screenwriter in Los Angeles and his three friends.
Logo's other fresh programming will consist of MTV-style music and reality series such as Open Bar (September), about a man's coming-out process as he opens a West Hollywood gay bar; Round Trip Ticket (Friday 11 ET/PT), a world travel series; and First Comes Love (Monday, 10 ET/PT), in which Scott Thompson (Kids in the Hall) helps gay male and lesbian couples plan dream weddings.
Wednesday nights will focus on music, Thursday is comedy night and Friday's emphasis is travel.

Q Television
Much of Q Television's programming is coverage of lifestyle events. The channel, started in October, covered last weekend's gay-pride marches in seven cities. It also airs Q on the Move, a travelogue of gay events around the country, and it will air the annual Gay Games sporting event from Chicago in mid-July.
Q programming is sold on a pay-per-view basis and is currently available only to digital subscribers of RCN, a small cable system serving parts of New York, Chicago, Boston and San Francisco.

Here! TV
As an on-demand pay network, Here! TV has no fixed programming schedule. Instead, viewers choose from a rotating menu of movies and programs, available whenever they want to watch, and purchase them individually, in three-hour blocks or as an unlimited package for a monthly fee.
Founder Paul Colichman's Regent Entertainment is a longtime film producer, and the channel claims a library of 1,100 gay-themed films available on the service, including Peter's Friends, Go Fish and Friends & Family, about two openly gay men who keep secret their jobs as "ruthless Mob enforcers."
But increasingly, Here is offering original series as well:
Dante's Cove (due in October), a supernatural soap set on a Caribbean island, described as "Dynasty meets Dark Shadows."
Third Man Out (September), based on Richard Stevenson's book series about gay detective Donald Strachey, to air as several movies.
Birch & Co., a monthly talk show hosted by Elizabeth Birch, former director of advocacy group the Human Rights Campaign.
Margaret Cho's Assassins, the comedian's stage show, will air Sept. 1 with a simultaneous theatrical release in 10 cities.

Been thinking about starting a club called the "Half-Full Visionaries" for those of us who usually see the glass half full instead of half empty. You qualify for charter membership.

OMG, I just realized that we have our numbers!

That site says 1 million potential viewers, and our subscriber base is 15,000. That's 1.5% of a million. So, assuming that RCN is indicative of the US general population, we can expect that being available to 200 million Americans (for instance) would be 3 million subscribers.

We'll probably never be that widely available, but you can probably use the 1.5% elsewhere for whatever our "potential viewers" is.

Just so you guys know, Jennifer is right. I'm actually rooting for LOGO to do well, the reason being that the better off they are, the more publicity the market gets.

There's a ratio to use when determining "market appeal". Because when LOGO launches, yes it means good for Viacom, but the way the ratio works, we actually benefit as QBID shareholders do. Interest in gay programming will rise, and that brings more investors to the table. Ultimately, we will see the PPS base broaden.

Best to think of it like this:
Suppose you are a regular investor that likes to find companies when they are relatively new. Your wife keeps going on and on about the new DuPont Towrag (Towel-Rag), which is a reusable paper cloth that never tears, unless you want it to. One rag can clean up the sloppiest of messes, and it evaporates spills and water like nothing else.

So you think that might be a good investment, a little DD later and you realize that DuPont has an executive that is trying to underfund that department, or generally doesn't consider that product to be worth keying in on.

Enter Bounty. Running off the success of their Honey-Do List Maker (http://www.quickerpickerupper.com/things_to_do/honeycreate.jsp), they spin off a joint venture with Mohawk Paper Mills to create PulpFriction, a new towellette company that competes directly with DuPonts Towrag.

Now, which company, as a value investor, are you going to invest in? The more established one that is neglecting the product, or the joint-venture, that is making that product their focus market?

Just something to think about.

I’m well aware of the investors who feel as though they are being short changed, but the reality is we are at a point now where many positive things happening cannot be discussed.

I completely sympathize with investors frustrations during these times, but information must be released carefully and not to interfere with Q negotiations.

Richard, will we ever get more carriers ? or are we going to be doomed with lack of coverage? Do you think that we can expect some good news this week? The PPS continues to drop and we continue to loose investors. When will Frank get another contract for carriers? All this programming is great but if we do not have the audience then it is useless.

BTW, anyone notice that divergence is pointing up? Someone on here mentioned it earlier today.
 -

Note specifically the 27th and 28th of June, where the MACD crosses and divergence is pointing back up. Granted, doing T/A (technical analysis) on a pink sheet stock is risky, but some folks did it last run and made away with quite a killing when it popped from .0021 to about .0029. And the base for this one is stronger, so it might actually run to .0038 or .004 or higher on no news and light volume. Something to think about, anyway.

Unfortunately, this will bring back the daytraders, like andrew.

I think Frank would delay any meaningful PR until after the fourth so as to not be buried by the publicity about Logo. Just give them their bunp, then business as usual (building Q). The end of next week or the first of the following week I see all the planets and Hollywood Stars in alinement.

Yeah, it's marketwatch, but it's not. Bigcharts I think was bought by them. I used Bigcharts years ago when I was a WCOEQ and ERICY investor. Here's the site:
http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/

I think http://www.bigcharts.com still works too.

What I do is put in QBID and hit "INTERACTIVE CHARTING". Then under "TIME FRAME" I choose "2 months" and "Daily". Under "INDICATORS" I use "SMA, 9" for moving average (you can ignore this for QBID though), upper indicators of "Bollinger Bands", lower indicator 1 of RSI, lower indicator 2 of MACD, and lower indicator 3 of Volume.

If you have cookies enabled, you can store your chart settings and change "CHART STYLE" to blue on white or black or whatever.

For those that are new to technical analysis, the MACD is the best indicator of when to buy. RSI tells you when a stock is overbought or oversold, and volume is basically an indicator of investor feelings, be they good or bad. That's T/A in one paragraph; certainly not the best description, but it'll do. Preparing another post to describe what I see now...

This is the 3rd response I've gotten stating a cable co is not planning on carrying Q. We need to email the hell out of these companies: ("the Q channel??? has cox comm not even heard of it yet?)

Dear XXX:

Thank you for your email. Cox Communications is committed to providing
quality customer care.

We are continuously evaluating new programming as it becomes available.
At this time, the Q channel is not a part of the Cox channel line-up.
As you may know, channel space is a limited asset and currently we do
not have any immediate plans to carry the Q channel. Out of the all the
