No Farley, the links were very helpful to me. I have been trying to figure out what business Frank had here in Washington state. Now I know, in the second link it states he once owned 4 gay and lesbian bars in Seattle. Thanks!!

Q Television DVD Pre-Sales for EuroGames 2005 Exceeds Demand
Business Wire - June 15, 2005 11:45

UTRECHT, Netherlands, Jun 15, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Q Television Network (Pink Sheets: QBID) announced today that pre-sale orders of the EuroGames Utrecht 2005 DVDs, produced and owned exclusively by Q Television, have exceeded expected demand in Europe and the United States. The DVD, which will be priced based upon current market costs for each country, will be released upon completion of the games.

"The pre-sale orders for these DVDs in Europe and the U.S. have been spectacular. Our staff is receiving multiple orders every day, and the revenue generated from these DVDs will be much higher than originally expected. In Europe, EuroGames DVDs are sold for many years, allowing a collector to purchase EuroGames DVDs from previous years," said Rene Schenk, Chief Financial Officer, Q Television Network. "We are producing the DVDs to be seen in PAL as well as in NTSC so that everyone purchasing the DVD will be able to view it properly."

About The EuroGames Utrecht 2005: The EuroGames are the high-quality sports and cultural event of the gay & lesbian community in Europe. The city of Utrecht, in the Netherlands, hosts the 10th European Gay and Lesbian Multi-Sports Championships from June 16th through the 19th, 2005. Utrecht is convinced it will meet the standards of the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation -- EGLSF. EuroGames Utrecht 2005 will embody major events: a four-day sports competition programme, a one-week cultural festival, and other festivities. All totaled, EuroGames Utrecht 2005 will welcome some 3,000 participants and 15,000 spectators in Utrecht.

About Q Television Network: This television network was organized to create and develop a network devoted to providing television programming for the gay and lesbian community. While the company expects much of its subscriber base to be comprised of members of the gay and lesbian population, management also believes that quality programming about the gay and lesbian experience, designed to entertain, educate and inform, will attract many other segments of the viewing public. The company's programming will be available on a subscription basis to those desiring its programming. The network will broadcast 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Providing distribution via satellite ensures availability of the network across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Q Television Network is the Network for the Gay Games VII. For further information on programming and subscriptions, please visit www.qtelevision.com.

Nice news, and I believe all these small pr's add up, even though most make the pps go down.
Now one day we will get a carrier announcement and all will be happy.
I am sure the experts working with Frank are the ones calling the shots when to release the pr's, and I believe they are the ones who will also tell Frank when to release the carrier pr too.
I am frustrated as many because we want Bigger news.
One day when/if this ever gets over .20, .30, or .40, then we can pln our Vegas party, until then we stay put.

Looks like last year's Eurogames DVD went for EUR 14.99 - EUR 19.99.

http://2004.eurogames.info/news_1286_e.html

That reminds me... Does anyone know where I can buy a DVD of the 2000 Olympics? I'm sure it's in high demand. [Roll Eyes]

Sorry for my atypical skepticism, but is anyone else out there concerned a bit about this PR? The day before the games, they're announcing news about a DVD. Compare that to their 5/25 PR:

"Q Television Network (Pink Sheets: QBID) announced today that it has finalized an agreement for exclusive US and Canadian broadcasting rights of the 2005 EuroGames in Utrecht in the Netherlands."

Well, they never said they would broadcast it LIVE, I suppose. But if they do, then it looks like only 3 U.S. cities can watch it, unless something big happens TODAY. But even then, there would have been no way to advertise it ahead of time.

I just hope this whole DVD thing isn't their way of saying, "Well, we gave it a shot, and this is the best we can do this year."

Am I missing something?

Well said. I absolutely agree with you. Nice to chat with someone who is logical, rational, realistic and positive . . . and I should add patient enough to wait for the rewards that (I truly believe) are coming. I get impatient too and sometimes wonder "when" the BIg news is coming. But whining about the PPS never seems to help, so I try to stay positive. This is why I get very irritated by others who whine and moan and bash. It's childish behavior, and I try not to respond to them . . . because I know it won't change them. Anyway, GO Q.

That has always been one of my issues with this. They say they are the broadcaster for this or that but they never broadcast it.

the gay games, the red carpet, the football something, the infomercials, good morning gay america, broadcast in Seattle, at the elections....I can not even remember them all.

We all have concerns about Q's progress occasionally, but I think we still share the belief (or hope or dream) that QBID will reward us someday. If I didn't believe that, I would be gone by now. But so far, I have not found anything I like better than QBID. And right or wrong, I am still here.

Hope all our questions will be answered soon. Hang in there.

i know i'm probably one of the older 'heads' here, but i'll share my thoughts with you anyhow.

back in the day there was a group of folks that traveled round the country in a bus creating mischief and mayhem, observing and commenting (and alittle partying) on the social fabric of the times.

i just can't shake the feelings of similarity between frank et al and those folks. hunter s thompson (R.I.P.), jack kerouac, alan ginzburg were well known writers and commentators on the unsettled and volatile era that were a part of ken kesey and his band of merry pranksters. their exploits are documented in the "electric koolaid acid test".

that was an important literary glimpse into what was going on at the time from the underground point of view. amazing at the time that it got published. there were some dark, us versus them times back then. everyone afraid of the changes.

well, just thought i'd share. almost 4 decades later and i'm rooting for frank and HIS band of merry pranksters to succeed with this not insignificant change in the social order of things....

...and perhaps benefit financially from it.. [Big Grin]

On soft gray mornings widows cry
The wise men share a joke;
I run to grasp divining signs
To satisfy the hoax.
The yellow jester does not play
But gentle pulls the strings
And smiles as the puppets dance
In the court of the crimson king.

I sent another email to IR today.... this PR is just as bad as the last one....

"Multiple"... meaning 2 or more?!?
"games on DVD"... why not watch them live?
"exceeded demand"... how do you exceed demand?

I am really surprised the actually stated that they would "be released upon completion the games"..... do they think I am that stupid that I would actually buy a DVD of games before they occur!?!

I would really like to know who has been writing these gems!?!

ok i have a friend that was speaking to Richard this afternoon. I could not get through to Richard. I wanted to get my friends permission to post this. that is why im posting this late. he said he didnt mind as Richard should tell everyone the same thing.
This is the best news I have ever heard from anyone. I wish it wasn't just "a friend" though. PT, will your friend make an account on here and tell us when he made the call and such? I'd really like to hear it from him. I know you as an upstanding person on allstocks and generally enjoy the wealth of knowledge you bring here, but I'd like to know more about when the call was made and maybe ask a few other questions in PM.

Richard won't talk to me, I think it's probably because my first question was how many outstanding shares there were. [Smile]

I had a feeling the Oxygen thing was a misreport. Q goes through zephyr media group for their advertising and they signed a deal with one of the carriers to carry the advertising in several of the large cities where pride events are going on. They probably picked Oxygen for the ads and then Oxygen got upset that their name was used in a PR because they didn't want to take a backlash.

I wish there were some companies that were proud of running ads for Q Television, but until LOGO comes out, I think everyone's a little scared to do it.

The part about POD being "small potatoes" sound pretty authentic and accurate as well. After all, if Time-Warner is ready for a second go at running QBID, who gives a crap about a flaky Internet company like POD?
