Illinois House Passes Resolution Supporting Gay Games 2006 Economic activity and cultural contributions cited by Illinois lawmakers 2005-06-14
The State of Illinois budget agreement of May 2005 included many painful spending cuts. But at least one group of Illinois lawmakers spent the final few days of the General Assembly Session lining up support for an event that will significantly enhance Illinois and Chicago revenues over the next 2 years, and generate even more economic activity by improving the State’s reputation as an exciting travel destination for years to come.
As the 94th General Assembly closed, the Illinois State House of Representatives adopted a resolution introduced by State Representative Kenneth Dunkin in support of the 2006 Chicago Gay Games. The Gay Games is an 8-day sports and cultural event that event that will bring tens of thousands of tourists, and as much as $80 million, to the Windy City in July of 2006.
“I am delighted to have sponsored this resolution,” said Dunkin, who represents the near North Side of Chicago. “The lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities of Illinois contribute so much to the economy and culture of this state. The Gay Games has already created jobs and revenue for the businesses of Chicago. In July 2006, Gay Games VII will have an impact on par with some of the city’s largest conventions and sports events. It makes good business sense to support this kind of positive economic activity and we’re delighted to welcome the world to Chicago next year.”
The 2006 edition of the Gay Games marks the return of the event to North America for the first time in 12 years. Gay Games VII will take place 15-22 July 2006, with Opening Ceremony at Soldier Field, Closing Ceremony at Wrigley Field, and cultural and arts programming at Millennium Park and throughout the City of Chicago. Athletes will compete in 30 sports taking place at venues on the city’s west, south and north sides, lakefront, downtown, and Evanston. As many as 35,000 visitors from all over the world will come to the city and another 40,000 to 60,000 Chicagoans will participate as athletes, artists, fans or volunteers.
State Representative Sara Feigenholtz was a co-sponsor of the resolution. “My district includes so many businesses that will benefit from the Gay Games,” she said. “More important, this event will be a boon to the entire Chicago community, with events throughout our many diverse neighborhoods. It will also have a long-lasting legacy for this city, promoting our beautiful lakefront and culture community.”
“Representative Dunkin has really stepped up to the plate for the LGBT community,” said Chicago Games, Inc. Government Relations Committee co-chairs Tracy Baim and Renae Ogletree. “He understands both the economic impact of the Gay Games as well as our mission to break down stereotypes and eliminate bigotry. We thank him for his support of this event and for really getting how much it will impact our community and our economy.”
The resolution passed by the Illinois House on May 31, 2005, reads:
HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Chicago will host Gay Games VII from July 15, 2006, to July 22, 2006, as the Games return to North America for the first time in 12 years; and
WHEREAS, Gay Games VII will feature 14,000 participants, competition in 30 sports, world-class athletes and artists, band and choral performances, nightly medal ceremonies, a week-long arts festival, parties, and spectacular opening and closing ceremonies showcasing entertainment, pageantry, and a parade of participants from more than 70 countries; and
WHEREAS, The Gay Games are open to anyone and have a 25-year history; there are no qualifying events or minimum or maximum requirements; and
WHEREAS, Gay Games VI was held in Sydney in 2002 and had an $80 million impact on the local economy and 12,979 registered participants; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the organizers, participants, and attendees of Gay Games VII in Chicago, and we wish a successful event for all; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chicago Games, Inc., the Gay Games VII host committee.

DIG Sorry for seeming dumb about WKRP . . . I remember it well and think it was one of the best sit coms ever on TV. I actually drafted a first reply that said I do not live in Cincy . . . then had second thoughts and decided I probably was not understanding your question. Good one . . . and in Lonnie Anderson's case, two good ones.

Doc, this is an awesome story from a Q investors point of view. It sounds like you got really amazed. Knowing what you do about doctors and all. Thats tight.
quote:Originally posted by Doctoall: Geez, "just when you think that you have heard it all along comes another story".
I attended a medical lunch today and most of these old docs are in their late 60's to mid 70's present company excluded. Well it appears that they were recently (10 of them) at a medical seminar in Palm Springs. They said that in every newspaper they opened there were ads for Q Television, on the streets they saw signs and during the Pride Festival even more signs.
Now these guys have to be the most homophobic group of MD's that I have ever met, they were still making remarks about the ads and the Gay's getting their TV.
However, it appears that these guys have seen a great opportunity to make some bank. All of them are well invested in the stock market and after their trip to Palm Springs it seems that they feel QBID is a great investment.
Now they are walking around the medical complex asking each other if they had their "QBID" today. Apparently, they have bought on the average 1-2 mil shares each and have the confidence that this will pay them big. Doctors usually only invest in non-pink stock and triple their investments So this is a first for them.
And I though that I heard it all, they were knocked off their feet when I told them that I have been holding for well over a year and the number of shares that I hold. I would bet that they call their brokers in the morning. You would be surprised if you knew just who has shares in this baby "Q".
GO QBID!!!!!! Bring On The Green QBID has a whole new meaning for them.
the party is 15 hours giver or take ahead of the start of the Euro games. We are due for a carrier deal we have exclusive rights to US and Canada Coverage we have pending news about buybacks we have pending news about full reporting status we need a bone.
this party is more then a Summer kickoff party in my opinion.

Buybacks and dilutions are almost always in 9 million blocks. Something to do with computer software. Some systems only go to 9,999,999 so 9 million is a easy number to use for blocks instead of the 9999999. Something to do with the block size times multiple only goes that high.
Actually it a great indicator of dilution or buybacks.

ok i have a friend that was speaking to Richard this afternoon. I could not get through to Richard. I wanted to get my friends permission to post this. that is why im posting this late. he said he didnt mind as Richard should tell everyone the same thing.
So here are some of the things that where discussed.
I asked about what # buyback is this 2 or 3? He said it was 4, let me explain:
1. Was the buyback of 1 billion shares a year or so go. 2. Was the retirement of 1 billion (Frank's shares i think it was) (Richard calls this #2) 3. The April 2005 buy back, here is the interesting part, that was only a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of stock bought back. 4. 3% buyback
I asked Richard directly did Q buy back all those shares after hours, he said NO, and absoutely said No, he had meetings with Frank,Renee and even the investors (ppl backing Q) to see if ANYONE was buying this, and the answer was NO. He did say what he thinks is going on is the 6 billion restricted shares, the person/s owning these shares can take loans out on that money/shares and what we see is the MM's moving money around from account A to account B.
The POD (16 million homes) sounds like it is dead, Richard said Q did pay for it and if it is not airing it is POD's fault BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT he said in so many words (he told me he could not go into it) there are other things going on. I told him I will take that as POD is **** compared to signing with Comcast or some other large carrier.
I asked him what Frank meant in his June 9th interview "34 million homes by end of June"? Richard's response was very vague (he knows WTF is coming down the pipe but can't obvisouly say) but he said until he see's signed doc's he can't say anything
Richard did say that in Atlanta there were so many Comcast ppl that want Q, COMCAST CALLED FRANK!!! Richard said who knows what will happen with it but it's a good thing to have a carrier call you. He also said the other night there were 400,000 ppl at the Pride event and Q got 3 standing oviations.
I asked about what happened to Oxygen, he basically said that Q kept Richard out of the loop on it since it was such a touchy legal situition. But what he does know is that Q bought time from Company "XYZ Inc" for an infomercial and that company picked Carrier 123 to put it on. Carrier 123 decided to put it on Oxygen, Q came out with PR saying that they bought air time on Oxygen. That was incorrect and Oxygen was like "What?". Bottom line is it was an honest mistake and the court case has already been dismissed. Richard said look up the records it was May 19th 2005, dismissed with or without prejudice (the dismissal where u can not be sued again for same thing).
Gay Day is still going to start in June and Frank will announce the celeb before they air GayDay. Richard was telling me is that Frank does want to get off the pinks and get on an exchange, he is letting the auditors, lawyers etc handle all that stuff, the problem is Frank is traveling around so much that getting paperwork etc for Frank to read/sign is a bit difficult. But they are trying very hard to get of the pinks and become fully reporting. I tried to pin Richard down and ask him 30, 45, 90, 5000 days till we are off pinks, he wouldn’t budge.
I said look, I know that Frank and co. MUST KNOW what the share count is if they say they are buying back 3% of the outstanding shares (public float). Richard said that as far as he knows the audit is NOT complete BUT it must be damn near or they have a VERY GOOD idea of what the true share count is in order to buyback 3% of the float. I don’t pull any punches with Richard, I am not an ******* but I am upfront and tell him like it is. He knows I read the msg boards and that I keep track of the stock every DAMN day.

Hey Ric. It's been awhile since we've last talked. Hope all is well with you and your family. I've missed reading your posts on this thread. Are you still in this stock? What do you think we'll see from QBID over the next month or so?

if your smart this stock is a short term hold at best unless your in at .0001, just too many unknowns for this stock to be a sound long term investment but, in sub-penny stocks there are no long term investments if you want to be safe, this is a fact. odds are this stock wont make it but, good chance you might be able to catch a spike and exit with a gain with a pps this low.

He is doing one of two things.
1. Bashing this stock hoping to buy back in at a cheaper price. 2. Making other people feel bad about their investment for his own entertainment purposes. I'll tell you, there are some real sick people in this world.

that would be suicide to hold QBID as a long term investment, i prefer real stocks. how many thousands of dollars are you down in your QBID investment? QBID just as any other pinksheet stock, odds are it wont make it longterm, QBID=unknown O/S, authorized 50 billion shares, need i say more? very poor longterm investment to say the least.

I still have shares. Been waiting for the right moment to buy some more. Charts are looking better after today. it needed that .0017. I think it will hit .0016 which should be the trigger from what I see in the TA. It looks good soon but will watch the charts like a hawk. Because it maybe real soon depending on any news from the company. Family is doing great. Wife has gone 3 months without being put in hospital knock on wood, lol. Been awhile since that happened. Bad storm so may lose connection so better say bye.

ric knows just as good as any other veteran at otc and pinksheet stocks, you get in and you get out soon as possible or you will be stuck being a bagholder like most of you are in QBID. just learn from your mistakes and learn the game. QBID is a pure pump and dump if you havent figured it out yet. GLTY though, i hope you all escape this stock with a profit. sell on the next spike or you will regret it.
