Updated: October 6th, 2005 04:39 PM EDT Georgia's Maritime Logistics Innovation Center Helps Research Port Security Current pilot projects include final testing of Cyber Tracker GPS device
ATLANTA -- To increase the security of the nation's seaports, several devices are currently being tested at the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) through the state's Maritime Logistics Innovation Center (MLIC). The MLIC is one of the country's few organizations able to develop maritime-related solutions by testing university research and privately-developed technologies in an active port environment.
"We ask the maritime and logistics industry leaders what keeps them awake at night, and then we take those issues to the problem-solvers - universities and small businesses - for answers. We also develop solutions for particular areas identified by the Department of Homeland Security," said Page Siplon, director of MLIC. "Right now we're working on several projects relating to tracking and location as well as creating a safer, more secure work environment."
A current pilot project is the "Cyber Tracker," a device developed by Homeland Integrated Security Systems to track drivers' activities to, from and while in the port's berths. "The MLIC project has exceeded our expectations to this point," said Frank Moody, CEO of Homeland Integrated Security Systems (www.hissusa.com). "We hope to show the maritime industry that we have the technology necessary to keep a watchful eye on port security."
Final testing of the Cyber Tracker was concluded Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the port located in Savannah.
Established in 2003, the Maritime Logistics Innovation Center is a partnership between private industry, academia, and government authorities working together to cultivate and promote economic development within Georgia. The center works with industry leaders and experts to identify, create, and implement technological advancements and solutions for the maritime community.
The logistics center is also working on a pilot project for tracking containers and to also prepare for a prototype identification card for transportation workers, an initiative of the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) and the National Maritime Security Advisory Committee.
The Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program is intended to be nationally implemented as the primary means of identification at critical transportation facilities. Other pilot projects include testing technologies that monitor the activity and location of port equipment and machinery.

It is a possibility...there have been some large trades in the past week. There was one today for 1.4 million which is about $100,000 and one for 1 million today as well (about $68,000)...I am not implying either way but that would be an extremely big purchase for a retail investor. Also today there were numerous trades of 200,000 and over...someone is accumulating a lot of shares at this PPS there is no doubt about that.

this is the ill stock. there are so many f********** scams on the pinksheets, its nice to know there are couple that are legit. i went to new york to the expo, they were co-sponsoring it with the likes of lockheed martin. i talked to frank moody, and the vp of development. i am newbie in pinksheet investing, im not a pump and dumper, in fact, i am the prey of one of those pump and dumpers, i happen to hold a bag right now. but i go to the wharton school of business of the university of pennsyvlania, and when i tell you that HISC'S business plan is being reviewed in WHARTON's venture capital class, a friend of mine is taking it, you KNOW THAT SOMETHING'S up. the truth of this company is, its extremely overvalued. their market cap is no where near their assets. these guys are worth like 2 million, when their stock is sooo much more. yet, this is valid, because its because of the high expectations placed on a pinksheet stocks. they are moving to the otcbb, where the ratio of investors in octcbb to pinksheets is 10:1. i'm sure they'll do some share buybacks, so you will appreciate your holdings in intrinsic ways because your stock will be worth more. these guys are whats, i dont care about day to days. im a college student so my shares are limited, i own like 13000, but i am damn proud i own them. GO HISC.

I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts on the next weeks activity. I would suspect that the Nation's ongoing security concerns coupled with the: 1. probable soon to be announced export license 2. move to the OTC:BB 3. pending shareholders meeting this month
will continue to bring the price up on a fairly steady basis.
