I JUST CALLED AND TALKED TO BEVERLY HICKS IN THE COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS AND AFFAIRS DEPT. THEY PUT ON THE NCTA SHOW IN NEW ORLEANS AND THIS IS THE INFORMATION THEY CONFIRMED THRU Q TELEVISION NETWORK FOR THEIR NEWT ANNUAL NCTA CONVENTION. June 25, 2004 The National Cable and Telecommunications Association, formerly the National Cable Television Association, is the principal trade association of the cable television industry in the United States. Founded in 1952, NCTA's primary mission is to provide its members with a strong national presence by providing a single, unified voice on issues affecting the cable and telecommunications industry. NCTA represents cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation’s cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks, as well as equipment suppliers and providers of other services to the cable industry. In addition to offering traditional video services, NCTA's members also provide broadband services such as high-speed Internet access and telecommunications services such as local exchange telephone service to customers across the United States. NCTA also hosts the industry's annual trade show, which serves as a national showcase for the cable industry's innovative services, including quality television programming, interactive television services, high-speed Internet access, and competitive local telephone service. I see the messages differently now. It didn't say PR was this week, they said details coming this week, she already gave us details about Dan Rather, and 1 major cable company. Read it yourself. Quoted from Hotline messages. June 21, 2004 UPDATE We'll be dividing our efforts and will place ads in local, national gay & trade publications so look for these to be appearing soon. We'll have another update for you in the very near future.
We are on schedule. IP: Logged |

And that's what's important because then the gate is wide open for this thing. PRs of subscription numbers & new advertisers will be the news that gets this thing moving big. DONT POST IN OTHER THREAD! June 25, 2004 UPDATE 1min. 08 sec. (est.) Due to the fact that we are curently waiting for confirmation from the carriers that we have been added to their billing systems and confirmation of the carriers launch dates for the Q Television network it will be necessary for us to wait until next week to make a formal announcement. The network had to produce a gaurantee that we had funding for the next 5 years, which is a major requirement of the carriers This funding was obtained through private sources and does not affect the shareholders. We are currently renovating our NY sales office and this is scheduled to open on August 1st.

I have a couple concerns with this message. Last week, they stated they secured financing for the next 2 years, now, 1 week later they have 5 years of funding, 3 more years in 1 week? They also stated that they had 1 contract signed and delivered and would be making a joint announcement this week, now it is pushed back a week because they need to be verified on their billing cycle? I realize that many see this hotline update as positive, but all they are doing is changing the story again. Keep this in mind, if they secured 3 more years of financing in the last week, that is that much more profit going to someone else, not Q or the sharholders. Those payments will not be on Q books as profit, but as liabilities. That is of course assuming they launch, which is now 1 week away, and yet none of us know where we can get Q. We are all up to date and informed about Q, imagine your average person trying to find out about Q and how to subscribe. I called Cox here in San Diego, they still know nothing about them and will not be adding them to the lineup any time in July. I'm not saying they won't launch, but this update to me makes it look less likely that it will be next week. IP: Logged |

I'm looking through my notes. . . just read recently about a product--a newsteam will now only need a laptop--it started with "L- -" All that equipment will not be needed for remote transmission. I'll find it, but it will take a little time. Anyone else read it? It was on one of the under .10 boards. Got to get back to work. IP: Logged |

i just called comcast to see if they knew anything...i asked the guy if i could buy the service, and he said that it wasn't available yet (which we already knew). then i asked if they were planning to offer it when it was available, and he said yes (good news!). then i asked when they might know more about it, and he said to call back in two weeks (also good news!). if you wanna confirm, dial 1-800-comcast, then a bunch of "1"'s to get to the english version, cable tv, services, order new programming, place.
