actually not everyone notices this. and the ones that do always explained it to me as corrections or MMs exchanging shares. I used to buy that as a normal practice untill i read the rules of a buyback.

you got to realise that most investors in the pinks are usually just starting into investing and have no idea how to find out this info. I myself just found this out 2 days ago.

that is why there is not a large increase in the price nor do we want one till the buyback is over. the lower the price stays the more the 3 million dollars they have to play with will buy.

The reason they announce the buyback is they have to announce it in order to stick to the rules of a buyback.

this should get the stock movin up because people can see with their own eyes the buyback in progress

if you go to the link of the rules for stock repurchasing. they are not allowed to manipulate the stock price. now this is not to say they wont or cant as that would be hard to prove. but they could do that by staying silent and not pring anything.

now common sence tells me that as long as they are buying back, I would not expect any ground breaking prs, so i can see us staying at these levels and maybe slightly higher for another week. The thing is we have no idea how far into the buyback they are. and how much longer it will take to complete.

all i know is this. I dont want to be caught without my shares when this thing is done because we are going to see a new 52 week high when they finally finish this buyback and pr the info that i believe they are sitting on right now.

I dont see why they couldnt, I can understand why they wouldnt, but I can also understand why they would do so if they knew that the stock was in buyback mode this would be a good time for them to keep the price steady to allow it to happen so as they could also be accumulating themselves?

Have the after hours purchases been through the same broker every day or is it changing on a daily or bidaily basis. The way I understood the "one broker" requirement was it was for that session, not for an extended period.

Everyones favorite seer/jester has said a few comments of late that strike me as more interesting now. He said that there would be large 5 mil and 9 mil buys coming at the end of day and he also said something to the effect that the swing traders were not going to be happy soon. "Soon" would be now as that post was a week or more ago.

So if they are all intentionally holding the price down and the buyback is truly occurring he was correct in both of those statements...

Rod: I agree with you, IMO they are sitting on some great PR's.

#1. The audit is completed
#2. They are now reporting
#3. They are moving to another exchange
#4. Q has signed a deal with OUTtv & Pridevision
#5. Q has carrier contracts including Direct/Dish
#6. We are entering the Australian TV scene

It would just take one of these announcements to get the PPS rocking and us to the bank [Big Grin] But we are not likely to see these PR's until after the buyback is completed.

part way through the article this was in there:

While both here! and Q Television are pay service cable networks, Logo is an advertiser-supported basic-cable network.

Here!, now available, allows viewers to buy one program at a time or subscribe full-time. To date, the network is in more than 40 million households, according to CEO Paul Colichman, who also produced the film “Gods & Monsters.”

Frank Olsen, Q Television’s founder and CEO, said his network reaches viewers in Boston, San Francisco and New York City. By the end of June, viewership will be up to 16 million homes, he said. Plans are underway to have Q Television soon in Washington, D.C., Denver and Seattle, as well as Australia.

1 star for shlik for being another village idiot!

Hey Rod,if you are correct in stating Q has $3million to spend on buyback shares that at .0022 = 1,363,636,363 shares!

Do you or anyone else think they will retire what they buy?

Thanks Rich

my guess is no. they mentioned that they are investing the money earmarked for equipment and that buying back these shares will afford them better equipment down the road when they need it.

so my guess is that they are going to reissue them as the price goes up.

I could be completely wrong on this as my other train of thought is that they may have a buy out deal that we have been hearing about for the month of June. If this is true maybe the equipment will never be needed if the new owners already have the equipment needed.

dont forget that they stated that they will be ready for HDTV i believe it was the 3rd quarter of this year. That 3rd quarter starts in July.

interesting timing dont you think? they are using the money earmarked for this equipment, a rumour of a purchase in June, and a statement that they will be ready for HDTV in 3rd quarter. put the pieces together and what do you see?

i like it

honestly i have not been keeping track.

but if we take Riches numbers and knock off 300 million shares to be liberal

they seem to be buying up 50 million shares a day

if this is true, at this rate it would take them 20 business days to buy up another billion shares.

20 business days would take us one month.

the pr came out on Friday April 29th. so lets assume that they started the buyback on the next business day. that would be Monday may the 2nd.

20 business days would take us to may the 30th.

lets assume they announce that they are done the following business day. that is may 31st.

the rumour is of a buy out on June 1st.

is that timing freaky? is it coincidence, or does someone know something is up.

my opinion is that that post of the buyout was yanked off the board extremely fast, considering how the post was polite, non offensive, and presented as somewhat believable circumstances.

my question is what would have made a moderator yank a post like that that the moderator has no way of verifying either way. my opinion is that there was a lot of truth to the post and that a lawyer of one of the parties has contacted the Mod and asked him to remove the post to keep it quiet.

if was someone making up the story, the timing is very coincidental to all that has happened after the post was deleted.

something to think about. I honestly feel that June is going to be a very remarkable month for us.

JMHO take it for what it is.

Thanks Rod.. I agree with a lot of that.. We read posts all day about what might happen with the Q, but how often are they deleted like that?? A buyout could be on the ticket soon... All we know of right now is that they are buying back shares and will be off the pinks soon.. if thats all we get for now I am fine with that.. [Smile]

Rod: Just another thought, OUTtv/Pridevision has carriers contracted in the US, both cable and Dish/Direct. They have been saying that they will start airing in the US very soon. Maybe "Q" is going to complete the deal to buy OUTtv and by doing so they would gain those carriers.

Remember, Wendy did say that they were in the process of installing the "Q" encoder on site in Toronto. This will allow them to receive the "Q" programming and then could re-broadcast. [Big Grin]

i would not count on that plan either. if for some reason the price starts to go up at all the amount of shares that that earmarked money can buy is going to drop, the higher the price the fast that number drops, the faster that number drops the sooner the buyback would be done.

the number of shares they buy back is inversely proportional to the pps.

i would not delay on purchasing at these levels.

we also have to take into consider the fact that the longer we trade sideways at these levels, the better the MACD is looking. the day traders have already got thier eyes on this again for a run, and it could take off at anytime even without a pr, just based on the charts.

all my speculation of 20 days and ending of the buyback is based on a unrealistic approach that the price will stay where it is at now for the month.

Microsoft Will Back Gay Rights Legislation
Saturday May 7, 5:29 am ET
By Elizabeth M. Gillespie, Associated Press Writer
Microsoft Changes Course on Gay Rights Legislation; CEO Says Company Will Support It

SEATTLE (AP) -- After being criticized for quietly dropping support for a state gay rights bill, Microsoft Corp. chief executive Steve Ballmer told employees Friday that management would publicly back such legislation in the future.

Ballmer's commitment came two weeks after activists accused the company of caving to pressure from an evangelical pastor who had threatened to launch a nationwide boycott of the software company.

"After looking at the question from all sides, I've concluded that diversity in the workplace is such an important issue for our business that it should be included in our legislative agenda," Ballmer wrote in an e-mail.

In late April, Lorri L. Jean, CEO of the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center, asked Microsoft to return a civil rights award the group had given the company four years ago. On Friday she said Microsoft should keep the honor.

"Few of us have not made a misstep. This was a misstep. It was a big one. But Microsoft has done the right thing, and we would be proud to have them keep our award," Jean told The Associated Press.

Ballmer said he would not discuss what prompted Microsoft to take a neutral stance this year on a bill it had actively supported in the past.

Microsoft, one of the first companies to extend domestic partner benefits to same-sex couples, claimed that its decision came before a meeting with Ken Hutcherson, pastor of a local church who has organized anti-gay-marriage rallies in Seattle and Washington, D.C.

Hutcherson could not immediately be reached for comment Friday. He has said he pressured Microsoft after hearing two employees testify in favor of a bill before the state Legislature that would have banned discrimination against gays in housing, employment and insurance.

The bill died by a single vote in the state Senate April 21.

Liberal bloggers called the company a corporate coward and posted rallying cries for their own boycott of Microsoft products. Gay rights groups said they'd keep pressuring Microsoft until the company once again came out in support of the bill.

State Rep. Ed Murray, an openly gay Seattle Democrat who sponsored the bill, said he was thrilled Microsoft had decided to support the legislation the next time it's proposed. "Microsoft knows diversity is just plain good business. And they know that discrimination is bad for business," he said in a statement released Friday afternoon.

Joe Solmonese, president of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay rights group, applauded the shift.

"We are proud that Microsoft did the right thing and has come down squarely on the side of fairness for all employees," Solmonese said in a statement. "It is clear from Mr. Ballmer's statement that it is a business imperative to value a diverse workforce and support public policy that reinforces that principle."

In his e-mail Friday, Ballmer said the company would continue to focus its lobbying efforts on issues that most directly affect Microsoft, such as Internet safety, intellectual property rights, free trade and a healthy business climate.

"I'm proud of Microsoft's commitment to non-discrimination in our internal policies and benefits, but our policies can't cover the range of housing, education, financial and similar services that our people and their partners and families need.

"Therefore, it's appropriate for the company to support legislation that will promote and protect diversity in the workplace."

Microsoft shares slipped a penny to close at $25.22 in Friday trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Gay Games Begin Worldwide Registration Drive
by Ben James, 365Gay.com Sports

The Chicago organizers of Gay Games VII kick off their Worldwide Registration Drive with a weekend of Registration Parties scheduled for 14-15 May, 2005.

There are more than 50 parties scheduled on 5 continents.

"We're very excited at the response to the Official Gay Games Registration Drive," said James Simmons, Gay Games Sports and Events Marketing Manager.

"Ranging from small home parties to public events with hundreds of attendees, the parties are going to be a fun way for people to get registered for the 2006 Chicago Gay Games." Gay Games VII Sports and Cultural Festival will take place 15 - 22 July 2006 in Chicago, USA.

Anyone is welcome to host an Official Gay Games VII Registration Party. You can find out more at the Chicago Games website: GayGamesChicago.org.

Athletes, artists and their supporters earn great gifts in return for hosting the parties and getting people signed up and all party-goers will save US$25 on their Gay Games registration.

Suzi Arnold, Chicago's Board Co-Chair, says its important for people register now. "Every individual must register and receive an individual confirmation number in order to be guaranteed space at the Gay Games," she said. "Those who procrastinate may find their favorite sport filling up. Many sports will reach capacity this summer. Sailing is already full and some team sports - ice hockey and softball for example - are already approaching their 2002 Gay Games team benchmarks."

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! To any moms that are with us!
My wife is a nurse and has to work 2 12 hour shifts this weekend. So me and my 2 and 5 year old made her a card and took it to the hospital!

She was very happy!!

Way to go Rich, My mom is also a nurse and worked a lot of those shifts when I was growing up. It's one of those tough jobs with pay that's lower than it should be. Keep up the good work!

We read posts all day about what might happen with the Q, but how often are they deleted like that??
Rumors are ALWAYS deleted if they are designed to pump or bash a stock. I wouldn't put any faith at all in a buyout rumor. QBID has ALWAYS looked good enough to be bought at anytime, the fact that someone is picking a date only serves to lower the PPS when June 1st DOES come around and nothing has happened.

The last thing we want is a bunch of new investors buying QBID based on a hunch and unnesscarily running the PPS up May 31st.

Dont buy or sell on my opinions, do your research. Make sure you know what you are buying before you buy.

This is a non reporting pink sheet with very high risk. From high risk comes high rewards.
Dont invest more then you can afford to lose.

Wasn't tryin to hurt just statin what I see on the boards.. I am ready for a run tomorrow... I don't know what your waiting for?? Every run has its ups and downs so it really doesn't matter when it runs.. I think thats up to the day traders not us..
