Is this the quiet before the storm? The bashers have left the building along with the pumpers. I'm lurking in the shadows with everyone else. Kinda peaceful, wouldn't you say?

I had circled July 16 on my Qbid calendar per a couple of posts last month :

Here was a response to "what was going on " that day :
DragonMaster Member posted June 29, 2004 11:42 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I believe I can answer this easily.
We had a pr that said we had paid NTI 50 thousand dollars for the first and last months use of the satellite feed they set up for the Q. Transmission started on the 15th Day of May. On the 15th Day of July the two months of payment will end. Therefore unless an additional 25K dollars per month is paid the signal will stop.
Does this help you out any. No rocket science here. Just straight business acumen.

Besides the possible financial issue stated by Dragonmaster in his statement, I always wondered if the announcement of a carrier (Comcast,etc...) has been delayed (until after July 15) since it may have been in conflict with the satellite provider ?

I believe that NTI is used as a company to send the signal UP (uplink) to the satelites where each of the companies on the ground can pick up the signal and send it back out across their own cable (IE Cox, Comcast, etc) or they resend it back up to their satelite, to be beamed back down to the individual customers. (IE DirecTv, Primestar, Dishnetwork,Zoom, etc) I

I searched online and found a "Washington Observer" that is weekly. I found some interesting topics, but nothing on QBID. I put both Q Televison Network and Triangle in the search and selected "English". Articles in Chinese came up with Q Television Network and Triangle Television Network in English--the rest was in Chinese, I think.

The "Washington Observer" is a weekly that is printed by the Washington Post & tucked inside the ad package of the Sunday edition. It's read by a lot of people.
That was not Chinese characters that you saw for Qtelevision. They look like raw codes for whatever language the message is being written for. I read and write Chinese that's how I know.

Just wanted to check in and say hi. Dakota and I are still in for the long haul...we've just been a bit busy with our daughter's wedding. She got married this past weekend!

Thanks fastrunner. I obviously do not know much about Chinese characters or raw codes! Does anyone know what was printed about QBID? Posts: 1397 | Registered: Jun 2004

Actually no, that's the Washington Post Magazine. The Washington Observer appears to be a weekly Chinese newspaper in the DC area. Maybe something in the state of Washington?

I emailed the "chinese" code to my friend. He's good at decoding stuff. Maybe it has some insider stock information! Will keep the group posted!

If you go View/Decoding with functions under blue title bar, choose GB2312 (simplifized Chinese), then you can view it.
