One last question...where did these extra shares come from, no I'm not talking about the ones for the divy!

Total issued Shares as of year end was 62,489,721, given the corporation a calculated book value of $12.63 as of June 30, 2006.

The total current issued share of the corporation after the merger as of today, October 16, 2006 close of business is 103,135,657 giving the corporation a current estimated book value of $70.71.

Just wondering. Have a great night everyone!

Truth be told... I almost sold half of my position today.

I thought about it too dog.... But with the hyper confusion of today I decided it was not a good idea...

Wait...as of right now 1 of our shares = 7 shorty shares right? That is until the divi occurs...

If the
Record Date = 10-16-06 and the
Pay Date = 10-30-06 then the
Ex-Date would be 10-26-06
which means you could buy through 10-25-06 and still get the divy. Inversly, if you were to sell prior to 10-26-06 you would not get the divy.

Sell if you don't want the free ones. It's up to you.

You are misunderstanding me. Even the PR states dilution, not a bad thing in this case. I'm not saying it's a bad thing the way it was done. I said we needed more information which we have now.

I haven't sold and never told anyone to sell. I always said that we needed to work together to figure things out.

If I had been near a computer when the stock starting dropping , I'd sold all of mine too !!! I just so happen to leave to pick my son up at 2:45 cst and it dumped after that .

But I thought they just had to give notice ten days before the divi occurs...why couldn't the cutoff be today? As long as the divi didn't occur in the next ten days aren't they good?

Keeping it simple helped today... I figured, whatever, we have a 10k that says we are at least worth 7 bucks.

Dividends must be declared (i.e., approved) by a company’s Board of Directors each time they are paid. There are four important dates to remember regarding dividends.

Declaration date: The declaration date is the day the Board of Director’s announces their intention to pay a dividend. On this day, the company creates a liability on its books; it now owes the money to the stockholders. On the declaration date, the Board will also announce a date of record and a payment date.

Date of record: Shareholders who properly registered their ownership on or before this date will receive the dividend. Shareholders who are not registered as of this date will not receive the dividend. Registration in most countries is essentially automatic for shares purchased before the ex-dividend date.

Ex dividend date: Is set by the exchange where the stock is traded, several days (usually two) before the date of record, so that all trades made on previous dates can be properly settled and the shareholder list on the date of record will accurately reflect the current owners. Purchasers buying before the ex-dividend date will receive the dividend. The stock is said to trade cum dividend on these dates. Purchasers buying on or after the ex-dividend date will not receive the dividend. The stock trades ex-dividend on these dates.

Payment date: The date when the dividend cheques will actually be mailed to the shareholders of a company.

In a divy the only date that matters is the Ex-Date. We need to see the "divy/split" filing. The PR reads as if today was the Record Date. If that is true then you can still buy and get the divy through the day before the Ex-Date. The Ex-Date is 2 days before the Pay Date and it appears that the Pay Date is being set for 10-30-06. That is the way a divy works - but we need to see the divy filing to be sure of the dates.

Have you updated it? There were action items following the 10k. The 10Q in Nov could hold some goodies for the longs. Can we see it again?

I don't know. A panic buy will probably turn out just as bad for me as a panic sell.

I WAS on "The List" though. Would that help me at all if I bought back in.

I can't find a rule stating that the declaration date can't be on the ex-divi date...

Even on the SEC site below it says "usually" two days before payment...but it doesn't say it can't be on the declaration day...just as long as it's before payment to get the shareholders list together...

I am not sure on this one then. The definition of the Ex-Date means without dividend. Before the Ex-Date is with divy and on the Ex-Date is WITHOUT divy. I just know from playing many divy's that the Ex-Date is the only date that really matters. Don't know how the Ex-Date being one day after the Pay Day works. Either way you should still be able to buy and get the divy through this week and most of next.

Well, I did read. I read the 10-K that came out this afternoon which clearly said the merger consideration was going to be for those shareholders as of October 30th. I sold my shares so that I could digest the rest of the 10-K overnight, planning to get back after the dust had settled.

You guys were listening to radio songs earlier....I'm now listening to Cher's "If I could Turn Back Time"
