the trading should be interesting.....
I'm usually easily amused, but it has already been interesting to me. Think that it is going to get "more" interesting as it plays out. Didn't pick up trading shares today, but think I am going to try to pick up some in the morning. After today it looks like regulators are going to let it play out without interference.

glassman - Scottrade keeps telling us they have no info on the split. I believe they are just holding onto the shares themselves until the last possible minute to avoid any extra work for themselves. As long as they keep telling us they don't know anything then that's as far as they have to go with questions. I believe now they will release the shares on Wednesday as long as everything is still ok i.e. no trading halt ect. If you look on Scottrade under GVRP splits it shows up: Ratio: 36472.56576 Shares Before: 1 Split After: 3000000 Ex Date: 5/23/2005 Declare Date: 0/0/0 Record Date: 2/20/2003 Payment Date: 2/20/2003 Comments: DUE BILLS REDEEMABLE 5/25/05 Scottrade has the info they just don't want to tell us they have the shares.

Thats what my local guy told me today...No info on a split. Now the website is down. Where did you find the split info?

GVRP failed to secure a trading halt today. The split has been effected and billions in volume trade. Too late to unwind. They have enough shares, post-split, to cover last weeks sells. They cannot have trillions of shares out.
GVRP will accumulate enough shares to be left with thirty-three-million, or so, after a reverse split.
However, they will have to wait until all trades are settled to cure short positions.
This suggests GVRP will be in competition with market makers and traders to accumulate shares.

if these shares sow up in sctrd and etrade on wed, are we then free to trade without threat of reversal or what ever else. able to exchange freely?

they say they do not have the confirmation from the DTCC.... we'll get 'em..... they did the same with GTE it's just frustrating because of the uncertatinty about the split and how the co. will cope with this...
i am not comfortable, but, the way it traded today was what i was hoping for, volume and movement in PPS....there is too much money tied up in this to pullthe plug now IMO....

How long do you think they have to wait? I was thinking trillions shares out and they have a long way to go yet. Most of today's volume could be new buys.

They will perform a reverse split very soon.
This is my logic.

jps, when split shares show up in your account, after twelve Wednesday, it is safer to trade. This does not mean something won't go wrong.
Catch point,
"They have enough shares, post-split"
If they sold their eleven shares and have none, which I don't think is the case, they only need to accumulate enough to cover shorts, then work on accumulation to effect a reverse split.

Only from myself I presume..thanks for the reply. By the way, I only started trading because I promised my wife I would not gamble in/on online casinos. What are the odds?

Glassman, of course I am only rationalizing like everyone else, trying to predict the future, which is very dangerous.
Occam's Razor, reduce it to the most simple terms.
I am rationalizing based on GVRP taking the path of least resistance and least cost.
Why would they reverse split? They cannot afford to have a public float in the trillions. That is simply too big and prices will always be sub-penny with no volatility.
Easiest path is to accumulate shares to a number which will allow a desired amount after effecting a reverse split.

purl- although i am just a few hundred levels below 'novice' in the pennies, I bought a few million more today (0001), figured make it harder for them to accumulate. CMK (CMKI?-dont know the story) guys must be buying by now.. also- thx for the reply...
