Hattie, got any insight/experience re Asian co.s? Specifically, Chinese. I know a few scams popped up a coupla years ago, but with the capital restrictions easing somewhat, shells are increasingly landing in Chinese control. Usually these are smaller companies, but the occassional big one comes along. Some research reveals that keeping three separate books is the cultural norm...Of course, that practice also evolved under a much different system and does not automatically qualify them for the Enron All-Star team. Reason I ask, I'm looking at a pretty interesting one trading slightly above a buck. Recent acquisition by a company the underwriter says is the result of a joint effort between the state and the pharmcology university of Bejing. Said underwriter says 4 to 6 more acquisitions are in the pipeline. What I like, he did *not* make a wild claim ( as in "$20 pps, for sure!") about projected share price. Anyway, just wondering...will post what I find, but suggestions welcome as long they don't involve the mule I rode in on...

This is a pretty accurate description. No fluff news, no pump N dump, this is a holder. For I see some of you jumped on the ALMI bandwagon weeks ago and tried for a quick gain, and sold off. HAAAA GOTCHA!!! Well when you sold, someone else snapped up your reduced priced shares. This stock will trade between 1.80 and 2.25 this summer. So quick gainers, this ain't your play. I'm projecting later part of the yr the new trade level will be 4-5, with peaks to $6+.

ALMI actually didn't hold up too badly this week, considering the bloodbath in most metals/natural resource stocks.
sure - clay ain't a metal, but - it seemed to me that ALMI was "caught up the updraft" to some degree of the resources stocks on it's recent extended move up to the $2 range. it seemed to fully particate in the general updraft, but not be as hard hit as metals stocks etc in the downdraft.

OSBURN, Idaho, May 24, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Atlas Mining Company (ALMI, Trade) and Newfoundland partner KAT Exploration Inc. are pleased to announce that a work program is about to begin on it's 100% owned Copper and Silver property known has the "Colliers" property, consisting of 500 hectares. Recent sampling returned assay results with values of 11.7% copper and 63.7 g/t of silver. The field crew will first carry out several days of prospecting and soil sampling along a major fault believed to be responsible for copper/silver bearing fluids that created the Collier's deposit. Although this deposit has never been drilled, plans are that general prospecting, line cutting, mapping, ground geophysics, trenching and followed by possible diamond drilling, first explore the property.
Recent work on the 18 claim (450 hectares) copper property known has the "Shaylee" property have uncovered some very impressive native copper along with globs of massive chalcocite in quartz veins hosted by sericite schist derived from felsic volcanic & epiclastic sediment protholiths. A 60 meter thick pyritic unit hosted by grey sedimentary rocks over-laying by felsic volcanics was recently discovered on the Shaylee property and the company is now waiting for the return of assay results from the lab. "This was a surprising discovery as these sediments had not been found before in this area" said KAT exploration president Ken Stead. These samples are being assayed particularly for gold. Earlier results have produced copper values as high as 1.18% Cu, although the native copper samples have not been assayed as these would no doubt distort representative values.
The 650 hectare "Angel's Cove" copper property, although fairly new, has also generated some excitement with in the company. This property consists of a very large sedimentary package of rocks over-lying a swarm of mafic dykes with recent assay results of 6000 ppm copper up to 1.64% copper. "Sediment-host stratiform copper deposits are well sought after because they can become world class deposits in the right environment and we certainly have the right environment," states KAT Exploration Inc. president Ken Stead.

Atlas Mining Company Schedules Further Sampling on Handcamp Gold Property

OSBURN, Idaho, May 31, 2006 (PRIMEZONE via COMTEX) -- Atlas Mining Company (ALMI, Trade) announced today it has scheduled further work on the Handcamp gold property in Newfoundland to identify the size of the large gold anomalies on the property.
Mr. Bill Jacobson (CEO) Atlas Mining stated, "Due to the historical drill results on the Handcamp property further sampling will be performed to understand the gold anomaly of 5 ounces on 7 feet of core drilling." This was completed by the Newfoundland Government prior to our purchase of the property. Other areas of interest on the property came from grab samples that reached as high as 158g/t au (over 5 oz/ton).
Mr. Jacobson also stated, "Because we now hold title to the property and our low acquisition cost we feel we have the best situation possible. Our partner on this property, KAT exploration, will head up the further sampling and will advise us on future core drilling and aerial surveys to best define the true worth of this unique property. Although no future plans have been finalized they may include a joint venture with a major mining company or outright sale. We continue to search for other outstanding opportunities as we move forward and maintain our discipline of increasing shareholder value."

My opinion is there is still room for significant profit in ALMI stock.
However, caution is advised not because of ALMI stock but rather May is proving to be the worst market month since 2002 year. Consumer confidence is very low, energy costs are skyrocketing, retail sales are way down and Bush continues to invest all effort into destroying world economies.
These are really bad market times which drag down prices for almost all stocks.
Returning to ALMI, this stock has weathered these bad markets very well. Much of this is traders and investors know Jacobson can be trusted. He is well known for being very honest. Another factor is ALMI has a product with great potential.
ALMI has not yet moved into retail sales. When this happens, I expect a lot of good news and a significant rise in share price.
If market conditions were better, ALMI would be trading in the range of 2.10 to 2.20 per share. Those prices should return late this year with improving market conditions. However, none know what direction markets will take; bad now and may become worse because of Bush policies.
ALMI affords a lot of investor safety. This is a stock which will never crash in prices. Still, share prices are being capped by bad markets.
You will not lose money but will have to wait for long term profits.
Based on today's news and my knowing Jacobson well through email and phone calls, he is hinting of performing test core drills to prove high gold content then sell this property for a handsome profit rather than develop. I am second guessing him, of course, and may be wrong.
Nonetheless, Jacobson and his crew are well known for their expertise in mining operations. They have a talent for picking winners.
Safe and sane investment but a long term investment. Company strength is in Jacobson being so darn honest and such a hard worker along with having a "hot" future product.

This is good news, Blue. Today's ALMI news provides traders an idea of progress by Jacobson. I really like his efforts towards technical aspects of this mining effort. Clearly he plans to play a nanotech card with his clay.
This news probably will not move share price but does add strength to Jacobson's reputation for being an honest man who keeps his word and who is staying on task with his business plan.

Nice upward run on ALMI today. Ten cent gain on the day.
Readers are encouraged to look at playing these dips and runs for ALMI. Nice small profits are to be made. These dips and runs are predictable.
AMLI is a very safe stock to play. This one will not crash on you. There is always risks involved in dip / run plays but with ALMI these risks are very low.
Study charts, study behavior and you will notice very distinct patterns. For you, the reader, simply a matter of determining what share prices will do and range of spread over a short period of time.

Strawberry festival down here, over by Santa Barbara.
I drive there, pig out on strawberries, get totally drunk on strawberry wine, then my husband drives me back home while coping with my silliness and loud rock and roll.
We sometimes go up to the Klamath area in your homestate to enjoy the roses. Very pretty. Klamath is a really nice area.
We have lots of city roses here in our city, lots and lots, but they are much smaller than yours up there Oregon. Victoria Avenue here in Riverside is about seven to ten miles of rose bushes. Nice.

The Sea Lions on the lower Klamath are really outa control...Doing their fair share of damage to the Steelhead and Chinook Salmon runs.
Skuttlebutt from Commercial fisherman is atleast the Great White Sharks are having their fill of Seals and Sea lions...I know the Urchin divers are seeing way to many Great Whites....That can be a bit of distraction when they are diving..LOL
Almost forgot, our local pod of Killer Whales have been working over the Sea Lions.

Very endearing thought about this and this makes all this very worthwhile.
Blue's parents pulled out some profit from ALMI, bought a new BMW then took off on a several week vacation, I think in Greece.
How nice an older couple can so enjoy their later years in life. Of all things about ALMI my greatest joy is knowing Blue's parents are truly enjoying life because of Bill Jacobson.
Does not matter about money, profits and all that. An older family couple are happy and enjoying life. That is the greatest reward which could be had from all this; joy of knowing of others joy.
I was forced to dump about 4500 shares a while back to help a friend. I'll get back in when I get my money back. I still have 6000 shares in the IRA though, so I'm not crying about it.

Blue, when your parents return, all tanned and grinning, consider suggesting they buy a little more ALMI stock. I strongly believe more good profits are to come in the future. Maybe a year, maybe two years. I am convinced this one is a long term winner.
As you know, when we do good for others, this good always comes back to us. You will be rewarded, if not already, in some form or fashion.
IRA is a good place to have ALMI. My personal opinion is ALMI will be a very good long term hold. Your best profits _might_ come about when you are qualified for tax breaks.
I sincerely hope you do very well with ALMI.

He picks very good safe and sane stocks. Very conservative investor, really knows his stuff. He is a sure bet, well, at least an eighty percent success rate which is very good for pennys.

anyway - thank you purl, clearly you "led the way" in discovering ALMI. i sold too much too early, being a chicken and a hedger, but ALMI still will make a nice dent in college bills for my kids, in addition to providing some retirement fun for my dad. still hold a decent chunk in both my own IRA's and coverdell college funds for kids.
as for my own stock commentary, eh these days i'm just treading water, trying to stay even on swing-plays while my long-holds recover from poor market conditions. there are a lot better people to listen to input from than me, starting of course with: yourself!

I can poke fun at you about your car because now I am driving an old rust bucket 52 Chevy panel truck! Meanders all over the road, slips out of second, sounds like a Sherman tank with all its bolts loose and dragging metal garbage cans. Radio does not even work.
No holes in the floorboard, though, like our old one ton truck of long ago. I can sit groceries on the floor and not have to walk back to pick them up off the road.
Have to charge the battery everyday. Old generator finally gave out. Cannot drive it at night....
People probably think I am some ignorant Okie fresh off the farm, which I am!

MGOA looks to be setting up for a small bounce if you want to try to flip it. I tried to buy some very late day, like a half hour before market close, too late. I think this one might be good for two or three cents by Friday.
Very high risk, might keep going down. They filed a 10Q today which shows good improvement but is still worrisome. Lot of panic. I think it will bounce up a few cents. Fast in and out.
My thinking is seasoned traders will read the 10Q better, understand it better and play it.

Purl & Blue, I have to admit that ALMI was my first stock pick. I discovered this board and the two of you after. I have followed your picks and watched for a while. At this point, ALMI and IESV are the only two "pennies" I have. I figured a bit of education was in order before diving in too heavy. I've learned a lot from the two of you in the last year (thank you). I've also read everything that might help.
I'm still watching for another ALMI. I'll get brave enough to start a thread if I come up with anything interesting.
I cannot decide if IESV is being naked shorted or Cornell Capital is diluting. GAK!
Lots of potential, very good progress on their production plants, expanding, good management but darn this share dumping is frustrating!
I pick up a little more, periodically, as IESV dips below a nickel. This one might be a very long wait before IESV moves up to its true share price value.

I agree with you when it comes to IESV. I didn't plop a lot of money into it, so I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch. If it ever decides to go up, my 1000 shares will look nice. If not, I can use it as a learning experience.
that generator probably just needs new brushes. Even so, since the hard part is getting under the )&^#^***(^^ thing to get it out and in, why not get a rebuilt generator. Haven't bought one recently, but I'd be surprised if a rebuilt GM generator would be more than about $20 - $25.
Should you choose to re-brush the generator, it's not a bad job and the set of brushes should be less than a couple of dollars. A shady spot to work, a few cool ones, and some patience and you could forget the charging at night and drive after dark.
My very first post here ever I explained that I was new and my thoughts needed to be taken in that light.
I got almost immediate post from blue in MI and from The Lady Purl encouraging me to keep posting. and never be too shy to ask questions. They are not the only wonderfully helpful people here.

Heh! You know, I can actually drive that puppy for a week without a battery charge! Not so if I use headlights. Those little six cylinder engines use so little electricity to run and the 52 only has a single stoplight on the back.
We have a rebuilt generator and a new voltage regulator sitting in our shop. Just a matter of changing around my "to do" list for my husband.
We always keep our priorities straight. The 52 is way low on our list. I have the Corvette to drive, no problem, except it costs five dollars simply to start it.
Yeah, inexpensive on those generators. A bit more than you think. There is a shop here in town which rebuilds them for seventy-five bucks. However, we try to get by because an alternator will be installed when we restore the truck.

Last night, amusing but frustrating situation. I had to go over and evict a speed freak from one of our rentals. Bad, really bad event.
I am responsible for all renting, collection and evictions. Sometimes down right scary.
Started out great two years back. Couple was referred to us by previous tenants. Very reliable and always pay their rent. Get this, a woman teacher with a Masters but the husband... well..
They did not disclose on the rental agreement the husband is a twice convicted felon for drug offenses and drug sells. Learned this later. He had a good job, 48K gross per year.
He fell back to using meth, lost his job, would not find a job, "things" began going sour.
We go over there to work, to make improvements. Last few months, lots of people there while the wife is at work. All of them speed freaks. I mean like my husband and I are old, wrinkled, gray hair and all, but these people are half our age and look twice our age. If lucky, you could understand half of what they say.
I could describe these people, talk about what they do, but you would not believe me.
Makes me so uncomfortable, we would quit work and leave rather than be around those tweakers.
Wife finally smartened up and moved out in one day over this past weekend. All Hell broke loose, police over there five times in the past several days. The boy is psychotic.
Yesterday I have to go over there to explain to the boy he cannot stay. He has no job, no money, cannot afford the house. He tells me, "I can get the money." I am thinking, sure, keep dealing meth, selling stolen rims and all that. No, I don't think so. Not in one of our rentals.
According to law we are suppose to give him a sixty day notice. Not a chance I will allow a nutcase speed freak to stay for two months. I lie to him and tell him he has to be out by the end of this month, or else.
He comes unglued. Starts screaming, cussing, literally pacing back and forth, kicking things, slinging things around (we are outside), marches out to the street, marches back, waving his arms, pulling at his hair; totally wigged out.
I went out to our Mercedes as quickly as possible to leave. I hear three shotgun blasts in his backyard before I leave.
Lesson here is the devastating effect of meth abuse. They did really good, ideal tenants, kept all clean and nice, pretty yards, no problem paying rent. Last six months, all still looks nice but meth abuse turned the husband into a raving lunatic, literally.
He lost his job, he lost his wife, he lost his place to live, has no money and no future.
All that just to get high on meth.
Today I have to go back to serve a three day notice to sorta keep this legal. Not looking forward to that, at all. I will be armed.
Afterwards, I will instruct our family attorney to handle this, the eviction process. He can take the chances; we pay him to do this.
So, my 52 and the generator have to wait. I have to deal with a maniac speed freak!

The conversion to an alternator is a wise move. I have a generartor that will fit that thing, I think. If I recall, all chevies from the late 40s to around 78 will interchange.
I guess I'm not up on the prices in California, but here, I can get GM rebuilts much cheaper. Generally speaking, GM parts are less expensive than Ford, Ford less expensive than Chrysler, but there is no top to the price the jap and kraut parts will cost.
Had a neighbor that slipped onto that dope slide recently. I don't like knowing too many details about people's personal lives and problems and choose to not pass them around, but much of what you tell about your renter is the same with the neighbor. He's gone, now, leaving the wife trying to pay the expenses of two daughters in college.
To appease the ire of "certain" posters that feel the need to condemn, I turn to ALMI. I'm not in ALMI at the moment (which "certain" posters have apparantly declared denies me the right to post) and am waiting 'til the current downtrend looks to be over to rebuy. That shouldn't be long, with the RSI diving toward 30.
