Ok, let me preface this by saying that I am still a newbie in this area and I'm just trying to get a better grasp on things.
Yesterday I think the volume was about 50k for ALMI. I had Time/Sales and L2's going. I know this is not a stock to daytrade, but I just like to study a bunch of different stocks so I can learn the whole process. I bought this at $1.50 per share, and I plan on holding it for a while.
Now the Ask was sitting at 1.77 yesterday, with one MM at a size of "500". Now I think all but one trade the entire day was a buy at 1.77, and the stock did not move once. Now today there has been one small sale at 1.73, then another at 1.70, and it downticked a few cents for each trade. Is this a case of the MMs playing games? Just normal activity? It doesn't overly concern me, but again, I'm just trying to get a better handle on day-to-day activity.
Thanks!

Volume is only 22,500 current. There are no Market Maker plays in effect. Periodically, share holders will take some profits for whatever need.
Blue's parents pulled out some profit to buy a new BMW, to vacation in Greece. I pulled some out to buy an old truck and to generate cash to buy on dips.
Those are examples of profit taking for many different reasons.
While ALMI continues to show low volume and remains in a range near 1.70 to 1.80 per share, nothing much to worry about.
You will note the most recent dip did not last but a day or two before prices came back up. This appears to be a little bit of insider option exercising or similar in anticipation of recent news.
ALMI is a very stable stock and will not crash nor decrease in share price.

I'm one of those who had to dump some stocks to go into rescue mode for a friend. However, I still have more than 6000 shares that are long term. ALMI is just about the only OTCBB stock that I would hold that way. I tend to be paranoid where safety is concerned, but I also realise that to get ahead, one needs to cope with risk. Unlike risking our savings in Vegas, I can at least minimize the risk this way. It's not necessarily the best way, but it's worked for us so far. Definitely do the dd as it's the only way to get ahead, though it's no guarantee.

frugal..there are many good stock in OTCBB that have much lesser risk factor involved than mining stock like ALMI. FRPT might be one. another might be vnbl, so on and so forth. for all that I know, the maximu return that ALMI has given is around 80%. holding a stock for 1 year and getting a 80% return can be done not necessarily by buying OTC stock. close your eyes and buy PEIX today. within 6 months.. you will undoubtedly have your 100% return. or buy HANS. holding an OTCBB, should give you a better risk/reward than moderate 50-80% reward. GLTY!

While I realise that there are less volitile stocks than ALMI on the OTCBB, I still hold to my original stance. Aside from IESV, this is the only stock I hold in that category. As I have been given the trust of managing our retirement account, I intend to use that to our advantage. I put most of our funds in several Mutual Fund accounts which have helped to a great degree. Anything else is put in areas where we (hubby and I) don't mind losing a few bucks. So far, we have done fine. 80 percent is more than we expected, so I won't complain.

"While I realise that there are less volitile stocks than ALMI on the OTCBB...."
If you can earn ten percent per year for your family, you are doing just fine. Nice to earn more but ten percent per year is a good growth rate, a performance very typical of conservative mutual funds and their professionals.
Reads to me you are doing a fine job of managing your family money.
