Does that mean the deal is done Bigrod? They are airing Q? Looks like good news to me. Nice find!
Rich I feel that they had an agreement prior to this announcement to air the "Q" programming on PrideVision. IMO we will get more details about the final deal within the next 7-10 days.
Until then the "Q" exposure is sweet

OUTtv Launching April 7, 2005
PRIDEVISION ANNOUNCES EXPANSION AND THE LAUNCH OF A NEW GAY CHANNEL
TORONTO, (Canada), February 11, 2005 – Starting on April 7 under new ownership, PrideVision will launch a new channel called OUTtv. On that date, the current premium channel PrideVision now commonly referred to by most cable/satellite operators as HARD on PrideVision will see its hard-core gay adult content expanded to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. OUTtv will also launch on that date -- without any hard-core adult programming -- and will be a 24/7 GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender) category 1 lifestyle channel that will be offered with other digital channels in packages or on an ‘a la carte’ basis.
The newly named OUTtv, the world’s first GLBT television network was recently issued a category 1 license by the CRTC and therefore must be sold in a package as well as an ‘a la carte’ basis. Since OUTtv is mandatory carriage, all Class 1 and 2 digital cable and satellite providers must make OUTtv available no less favourably than other Category 1 services such as TechTV, Mystery and TravelTV.
Both channels will be available to Rogers Digital Cable (channel 269 for OUTtv in Ontario and New Brunswick, HARD on PrideVision moves to channel 570), Videotron and Cogeco customers starting on April 7. Other channels to be announced soon..
“PrideVision needed to divide into two channels due to high demand and the tremendously broad range of programming to serve the GLBT communities better,” says Bill Craig, the new President of both OUTtv and HARD on PrideVision. “Because OUTtv will have dramatically increased reach through package distribution, it will substantially increase relevant programming for the GLBT community and will include daily live news, event coverage and call-in programming currently not available on any other mainstream channel.”
The recent move to the state-of-the-art broadcast facility at Stornoway Communications allows OUTtv access to a modern studio with the ability to handle multiple viewer phone calls and other interactive services. As there was a strong dichotomy in the gay community between ‘adult’ erotica and non- explicit content, all hard-core adult programming will be removed from OUTtv but will continue with HARD on PrideVision featuring a newly expanded slate of gay adult programming not currently available anywhere else in Canada.
About OUTtv
Owned by 6166954 Canada Inc, which is a private consortium that was brought together to purchase PrideVision from Headline Media Group. Shareholders include independent television production companies such as Re:Source Media headed by Kevin Fox and Peace Point Entertainment Group Inc., headed by Les Tomlin, president, and co-executive producer of GLBT travel series, BUMP! Another new shareholder with a substantial presence in Canada is Pink Triangle Press, the country’s largest and longest running gay and lesbian media group, a not-for-profit organization that has been a driving force in the gay and lesbian community for over 30 years. As one of the world’s first gay publishers PTP has a long history of speaking across and expanding borders for gays and lesbians. With its award-winning Xtra! gay and lesbian community newspapers in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver, PTP boasts a national readership of over 175,000. Shareholder and president Bill Craig is a long-time television veteran who built and operated three regional sports networks in the U.S. owned by Fox and NBC/General Electric as well he was a staff member of the CRTC.
OUTtv is a digital specialty network providing programming of interest to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (“GLBT”) community and GLBT-positive viewers across Canada. Originally launched in September 2001, it is the world’s first GLBT network to broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"The newly named OUTtv, the world’s first GLBT television network was recently issued a category 1 license by the CRTC and therefore must be sold in a package as well as an ‘a la carte’ basis. Since OUTtv is mandatory carriage, all Class 1 and 2 digital cable and satellite providers must make OUTtv available no less favourably than other Category 1 services such as TechTV, Mystery and TravelTV."
This is what makes the deal so sweet! Mandatory carrage!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone... just dropped in for a quick tick... then off to shop for furniture....
I don't have the time to go back and read 10 pages since friday, so... if anyone knows.... post it quickly.....
Do I recall correctly that the CEO of PrideTV is in marital/divorce trouble and may be forced to sell? Because of possible turnover to the exspouse, I wonder if we can pick it up cheap....so this guy can stick it to her!?!

PRIDEVISION, the digital-cable service directed at Canada's gay and lesbian communities, is making a cross-border play for the U.S. cable audience.
With a dual-revenue strategy of advertising support and pay TV subscriptions, PRIDEVISION hopes to become the preeminent stateside network targeting the growing gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual (GLBT) communities, said John Levy, chairman and CEO of Headline Media, the Canadian company that owns the channel.
PRIDEVISION, which launched last fall, is believed to be the world's first full-time network following gay and lesbian culture. Levy would not disclose how many subscribers the network has in Canada, but if it launches in the U.S., the channel could go up against a similar venture that Viacom Inc. is developing.
Viacom's channel, managed by Showtime Networks Inc. and MTV Networks, would also sell as a premium network — possibly for $5 to $7 per month — with some national advertising support.
Levy said PRIDEVISION would also adopt that hybrid format, with a suggested retail price ranging from $5 to $10.
The network also expects to generate advertising and sponsorship revenues from companies seeking to reach the gay and lesbian communities.
The advertising community needs a vehicle to connect with the community," Levy said.
PRIDEVISION will have a "inner-city look" and offer a mix of news, sports, films and entertainment shows from around the world.
Its schedule — only 10 percent of which is original at this point — includes independent films, newsmagazines, drama series and lifestyle specials.
Network executive producer Michael Serapio said the percentage of original content will ramp up this fall.
Said Levy: "Everyone is familiar with Will & Grace and [Showtime's] Queer as Folk, but there's tons of programming that hasn't seen the light of day. It's a complete representation of that diverse community."
The network has retained Rasenberger Media, the new service outsource agency headed by former Food Network senior executive Catherine Rasenberger, to line up U.S. affiliates.
At last month's International Gay & Lesbian Business/Entertainment Expo in New York, Levy vowed U.S. distribution "would happen quickly," with some operators launching his service in late summer or early fall.
Showtime vice president and general manager of digital media Gene Falk praised PRIDEVISION for a "terrific" service that shows the value of the gays and lesbians to operators and advertisers.
Falk, speaking at the Expo, added that initial operator conversations about the Viacom service were promising, but didn't offer details on a start date or a format.
"The trick is where and when we get distribution," he said. "Cable channels don't go on the air magically."

I think the members on Allstocks should express there distaste for posters like this. Especially since it promotes a scam stock. AFTR is the only bigger r/s king.

Q is already showing The Agenda, Jack E. Jett and so does Pride Vision. Cathy Rasenberger knows Pride Vision inside and out. I bet she and Frank collaborated on this move. It seems like a fit that was already half in progress with all the shared programming. These two networks are very similar, it gives Q twice the punch and I hope it goes through. I optimistically feel it is a done deal, to much in common between the two of these companies. Let's do this Frank

your more then likely right, but if he manages to attain ownership of 61669954 Canada Inc he will be partnered with these Canadian Media Giants.
by the way for those of you that don't know Rogers Cable and Cogeco are the 2 largest cable providers in Canada.
i sure hope this deal goes through I have spent most of the afternoon looking to see if there are any government documents that would show a transfer of ownership of 61669954 Canada Inc. I could not find anything which means there is no done deals yet.
i will keep looking throw the government documents on numbered companies and CRTC dockets.

PrideVision is not seeking buyers. A representative of Q Television telephoned PrideVision unsolicited last week to review possible ownership arrangements. As with any such offers, the management has a fiduciary obligation to review such matters with PrideVision owners before responding. This review is occurring. In the meantime, PrideVision is continuing to prepare for the addition of OUTtv to its service on April the 6th. We are delighted that others recognize the value of PrideVision, the world’s first gay, lesbian 24/7 television service and its great future prospects.

That was posted on IHUB by a member who signed up today with the name "Pride TV." If you look closely at the original message you will see that "management" supposedly answered that email today as well (SUNDAY).
