Whiz, I'm just guessing here, but I have two thoughts on that.

First, India is fast becoming a world player in films/movies and is probably watching everything developing in other countries - notably the US industry.

Secondly, it may have more to do with the Hijras (considered a third gender in India). It may be that the interest lies in the transgendered community of the US due to the similarities.

I could be way off base in both cases, so if anyone has any other thoughts, please speak up!!

A third possibility could just be that it's news just like anything else.

Thanks.
I know many of you, including myself, are wondering "IS IT REAL?" You need to understand that there have been many frauds/scams in the past and hundreds have been caught. I dont think that is the issue here, the issue is, will Q Television get off the ground?
Well, all I know is that they are working at it. Think about this. Ever wonder how people made it big time and you see they "got in early"? I personally like hearing and seeing people who got in early on the "internet" stocks in 2000 and now driving expensive cars, ect. In 2007 when everyone wonders how I got to where I am, driving that car, I want to be the one to say that I was part of the company that participated in the Gay/Lesbian network on TV before they became big.

At that point it could be trading at $40 a share (imagine?) and when I tell people I got in at 1 cent, they will wish they have too.

Am I dreaming? I guess so. Do I know thats going to happen? Nope. Am I happy with the investment. Absolutley!

LOOK AROUND YOU, OPEN YOUR EARS, GAY & LESBIAN TALK IS EVERYWHERE!!! ITS TIME FOR A GOOD G&L NETWORK!

Dixie Cups & Dave Thomas Trio Headline 10th Annual LazFest July 4th Benefiting Project Lazarus

New Orleans - Project Lazarus continues its 10-year tradition of partying with a purpose. The annual July 4 LazFest, which lands on a Sunday this year from 11am to 6pm in the 2800 block of Royal Street, will offer festival-goers unlimited food, beer and soft drinks, as well as the satisfaction of raising money for the city’s oldest and largest home for people living with HIV and AIDS.

A $15 donation entitles participants to not only eat and drink, but also dance along with live performances by New Orleans’ own Dixie Cups and Dave Thomas Trio. Carnival games, a silent auction and raffle, as well as the return of the popular dunk tank and jail, are part of the festivities celebrating the positive contribution Project Lazarus continues to make in the community.

"We believe Lazarus is a ministry of love, care and service," said Susan Banks, executive director of Project Lazarus. "LazFest is a continuation of this community’s commitment to support services that help men and women with HIV/AIDS live with dignity. For 10 years, the festival has helped us keep our doors open."

Over the previous nine festivals, LazFest has attracted almost 15,000 participants, raising more than $600,000 to help Lazarus residents who are unable to live independently or whose family and friends can no longer care for them. Project Lazarus assists with 24-hour nursing care, meals, laundry, social services, transportation to appointments, recreation and pastoral support.

LazFest organizers said they are thrilled to welcome the Dixie Cups, whose top-selling records include the No. 1 song Chapel of Love (1964) and Iko Iko (1965). The Dave Thomas Trio plays some of the best jazz standards in the Crescent City and is another bright spot for this year’s festival.

The 18-year-old non-profit organization started the festival 10 years ago to find a consistent way to raise funds for Lazarus’ four homes for residents. Each home has six private rooms for residents and common living rooms, kitchens and dining areas. Approximately a third of the residents are in hospice care, another third are transitional residents whose medical prognosis is good and the remaining residents are unable to live independently because of physical or mental problems. Lazarus also offers respite for patients following hospitalization for treatments such as chemotherapy or for caregivers who need a short-term break. For more information about LazFest and Project Lazarus or for donation and volunteer opportunities, call 504.949.3609 or visit www.lazarushouse.net.

GAA Finalist Hail From Texas thru Florida; "Donnie Jay" James To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award July 11th

New Orleans -The Gulf South readership, Texas through Florida, of Ambush Mag voted for their favorites in 19 award categories for the 17th Annual Gay Appreciation Awards (GAA). The Official Gay Appreciation Awards Public Voting Ballot appeared on-line at www.AmbushMag.COM/GAA and in the last issue of Ambush. Official voting ballots were accepted from June 8-15. Only one on-line ballot per e-mail address and one print ballot per person were valid.

This year’s voters hailed from as far away as Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Pensacola, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia on to Mobile, Alabama, to Biloxi, Mississippi, through New Orleans and Metairie, Louisiana and to Temple, Austin, Dallas, Galveston and Houston, Texas.

Donald "Donnie Jay" James was selected by unanimous vote of the GAA Board of Directors to be the 2004 Lifetime Award recipient for his many, many years of dedication to this community. Donald M. James was born in April of 1942. Schooled in Miami, Florida, he went through his formative years knowing that he was different. During his last years in high school, he fell head over heels for one of his fellow male classmates. Having hidden his true feelings until it was too late to express them, due to the untimely suicide of the other boy, he became determined to live his life out of the closet and became Donnie Jay. Since leaving high school, he began entertaining both in and out of drag.

When he moved to New Orleans in the mid seventies, he was already an activist, protesting the Viet Nam war and the civil mistreatment of minorities at both 1968 political conventions in Miami Beach.

Opening at the legendary Travis’ show bar, he quickly became part of the social scene in the gay community. Having reigned as both Queen Apollo and as the Captain of Dionysus, he always has been willing to lend his talents for worthy causes.

When the epidemic began and passed him by, claiming many of his friends and acquaintances, he took it as a sign that he had been spared to fight for the cause that finally became known as AIDS. From that time to this day he has never turned away from lending his talents and home to help.

He is currently active as a member of the board for the New Orleans Alliance for Pride, director of the Slutpuppies Performance Troop, tends bar, writes for numerous publications, including Ambush Mag, and is currently working on a tell all gay history of New Orleans. He still performs for numerous charity events all over the city and is a staple of our community.

It's Official: SDGM XXXI Rusty LaRoux Will Name Her Successor July 18th at Coronation 2004
SDGM XXXI Rusty LaRoux

New Orleans - Excitement is mounting in preparation of Official Southern Decadence XXXIII's kickoff, Coronation 2004. Southern Decadence Grand Marshal XXXI Rusty LaRoux has set Sun., July 18th as Official Coronation 2004, naming her successor, SDGM XXXII. The Coronation will be hosted for the first time at The Friendly Bar and Annex, in the Marigny at 2301 Chartres St. Beginning at 8pm, the Coronation will feature special performers and among them you can expect to experience the talents of some former grand marshals. The new grand marshal will set the tone for Decadence with his/her own theme, colors and song.

The rumor mill is churning with everyone from one end of town to the other trying to figure out who they think it will be. However, Madame Grand Marshal Rusty LaRoux is keeping mum. Ambush tried its best to get it out of her, but Madame Rusty would not divulge even one syllable of the new grand marshal's name.

2004 will be the 33rd anniversary of Southern Decadence. This will actually be the 31st year with a grand marshal [the grand marshal selection did not begin until the third year], but the new grand marshal will be the 32nd grand marshal [the two in 1978 were counted as grand marshals 5 & 6].

However, this is actually the 31st parade [there was no parade the first year].
It all began in 1972 with a mixed party of gays, straights, blacks and whites, at Belle Reve, 2110 Barracks St. There was no parade. [The first invitation read: "Ya’ll Come to the Dress Up As Your Favorite Southern Decadent Party at Belle Reve, 2110 Barracks, late afternoon, Sunday, September 3rd." (1972)]

According to Southern Decadence historian and SDGM IV Robert Laurent, "Cheers to Southern Decadence! What began in 1972 as an end-of-summer party among a small group of friends has transformed itself into a Quarter-wide weekend celebration. The first costume party was a farewell to Michael Evers, who was leaving New Orleans. Now, 31 years later, his spirit, wit and sense of frivolity continue, transformed into a celebration of Laissez les bon temps rouler."

In 1973, an informal march began from Matassa’s bar to 2110 Barracks. There was no grand marshal yet.

The grand marshal selection began in 1974 with Frederick Wright as the first.

For more info, visit the original and only OFFICIAL Website of Southern Decadence, SouthernDecadence.COM, dedicated to the preservation of the history and traditions of Southern Decadence in New Orleans since 1972. It lists the 2004 Official Events and you can even book discount hotel rooms, flights and cars.

I Will, I Do, We Did Chronicles Struggle for Gay Marriage Rights

Palm Springs, CA - Q Television Network (Pink Sheets: QBID) announces the details of an original documentary exploring gay marriage and the issue’s prominence in the gay rights movement.

I Will, I Do, We Did offers an inside look at the journey taken by a dozen same-sex couples during this historic time, documenting the political and community chain of events that resulted in San Francisco becoming the first city in the nation to issue marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples.

A joint production by Q Television Network and Roland Joseph Torres, principal of production firm Red Soapbox Visual Media, LLC, I Will, I Do, We Did is an example of Q Television’s dedication to offering viewers programs that educate, inform and entertain.

"Marriage rights are a top concern of the gay and lesbian community," observes vice president of programming and acquisitions Steven Grunberg. "Since Q Television Network was built by the gay community for the gay community, it was obvious that one of our first projects would focus on this issue."

A preview of the documentary premiered in May at the National Cable & Telecommunication Association’s annual industry conference and was included in a successful five-hour sample broadcast on May 15. The film is also airing as part of Q Television Network’s industry launch, which began June 1. The network is available for viewing on Intelsat America’s 7, 129 degrees West, Channel 1. A public launch is planned for July 2004.

Q Television and Red Soapbox Visual Media are currently in preproduction on two additional collaborations: a behind-the-scenes look at the San Francisco PRIDE festival and a follow-up to I Will, I Do, We Did. The team’s second gay marriage film will consider the effects of divorce on the gay community and include the perspectives of judges and lawyers, as well as the couples interviewed for the film.

Q Television Network was organized to create and develop a network devoted to providing television programming for the gay and lesbian community. While the company expects much of its subscriber base to be comprised of members of the gay and lesbian population, management also believes that quality programming about the gay and lesbian experience, designed to entertain, educate and inform, will attract many other segments of the viewing public. The company’s programming will be available on a subscription basis to those desiring its programming. The network will broadcast 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Providing distribution via satellite ensures availability of the network across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Community Coffee To Introduce New Look

Baton Rouge, LA - For 85 years, people throughout Louisiana have supported the growth of a local favorite, Community Coffee Company. It is in their honor that the company is very pleased to announce that the Community® Coffee Red Bag™ design is slated for a new look and will be officially introduced later this year. "Our customers expect our products and packaging to be innovative and up with the times. The new look will be an exciting evolution of our current design, while remaining true to our heritage," said Matthew Saurage, Director of Product Development and a fourth-generation owner of the company.

"Although our new look is still under development, one thing is certain: the Community Coffee package will retain its signature red color. Also, our customers should be assured that the distinctive aroma and taste of their Community Coffee will not change. In addition, products in the Red Bag family will remain in vacuum-fresh, one pound (16oz.) packages," said Randy Russ, President and CEO.

Customers around the state were involved in evaluating potential changes in the design. "We are very fortunate to have so many customers who are passionate about Community Coffee. Their feedback has been invaluable in helping us create a great new look that is unmistakably Community Coffee. After 85 years we still rely on our customers to help us become a better company," said Saurage.

Community Coffee last updated its Red Bag design in the early 1990s. The Red Bag family of products includes Dark, Between, Medium, Light Medium, Lite and New Orleans Blend®.

Community Coffee was founded in 1919 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by Henry Norman "Cap" Saurage. N.C. Episcopal church votes to allow same-sex unions
Friday, July 09, 2004

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — The governing board of an Episcopal church here voted unanimously to allow the blessing of same-sex unions among members of its congregation. The 12-member governing board, or vestry, at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church has been discussing the question of same-sex unions over the past year. The board encouraged conversation among the congregation, and set aside time at meetings to discuss the issue. A summary of the discussions was presented at a congregational meeting on June 6, and the vestry voted on June 21. Church Rector Scott Benhase said opinions ranged from those who felt very uncomfortable about having any kind of liturgical rite for gay couples to others who felt from the beginning that it was what the parish should do. National church leaders decided at a convention last summer to allow each local diocese to make its own decision about whether to bless same-sex relationships, Benhase said.

Gay clergyman opposed by Anglican conservatives appointed to new post
ST. ALBANS, England (AP) — A gay Anglican priest who lost a bishop’s throne because of a global uproar was welcomed July 2 as dean of the shrine of England’s first Christian martyr. Rev. Jeffrey John gave up an appointment as bishop of Reading under intense pressure a year ago. Last week, he was installed as dean of St. Albans Cathedral before a supportive crowd of about 2,000. During an elaborate religious ceremony filled with hymns, prayers and Scripture readings, Right Rev. Christopher Herbert, the bishop of St. Albans, gave a sermon acknowledging that John’s appointment had created opposition within the church. “I have been aware during the process and since that the reactions to the appointment would be very mixed,” Herbert said. “There are very, very many who are absolutely thrilled; and there are some of my fellow Christians who have been — and remain — deeply upset, angry and dismayed. ... What we have to do is listen deeply and patiently to each other so that understanding on all sides may grow.”

Battling homosexuality top priority for N.C. Christian congregation
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A Raleigh church has planted itself at the forefront of the battle over homosexuality, noisily denouncing gay sex at government meetings and encouraging members to stay on the offensive. “If we’re labeled as being fanatical Christians, we embrace it,” said Rev. Patrick Wooden of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ, one of Raleigh’s largest black congregations with about 3,000 members. “We’re not afraid of labels. We will speak the truth in love and make our positions known as a Christian church.” Wooden has made it clear he will not tolerate gay men or lesbians in the church choir or in any church leadership position. Four years ago, the church started a private Christian school after he became concerned that public schools were tolerating gays. Church members have turned out at city, county and state forums to oppose what their pastor has called “one of the greatest enemies of Christianity.” At a Raleigh City Council meeting in April, they cheered when homosexuality was described as “evil.”

Group promotes counter-protest to ‘Protect Marriage Sunday’
LYNCHBURG, Va. — A national group focused on ending spiritual discrimination against gays plans a counter-protest to the July 11 “Protect Marriage Sunday,” the group said in a news release. Soulforce is an interfaith effort that lobbies against religious policies against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, the organization stated. Soulforce urges people to oppose Protect Marriage Sunday, an effort to support the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment, which would insert a ban on same-sex marriage into the U.S. Constitution, the group’s news release said. Soulforce asks people to stand silently in protest in church pews on July 11 if their congregations participate in Protect Marriage Sunday, according to the media statement. “We can no longer sit quietly in the pews and do nothing when the pulpit is used to oppress us,” Karen Weldin, director of Operation for Soulforce, Inc., said in the release. “We must stand up against our own oppression. To use worship to demean and oppress same-gender couples is wrong.”

Boston bishop wants Vatican to move quicker on abuse scandal
BOSTON (AP) — Archbishop Sean P. O’Malley expressed frustration with the Vatican’s pace in resolving the cases of about two dozen Boston-area priests accused of sexual abusing male teens, saying the logjam is unfair to the priests and to abuse victims. Priests can be suspended by local church officials, but cannot be removed from the priesthood without Vatican permission. O’Malley is among the priests who have grown concerned with how long Vatican officials are taking to look at the cases of abusive priests. “The process has been very slow, and I’m very frustrated by that. The resources here are inadequate to be able to expedite the cases with the facility that we’d like to see,” he said. O’Malley made the comments last week while in Rome to receive a pallium — a woolen band bestowed on archbishops — from Pope John Paul II on the archbishop’s 60th birthday. He said he planned to meet with Vatican officials to express his worries, and urge the Vatican to allow American canon lawyers to help.

Viacom announces launch of gay TV channel
Logo comes to cable in February but so far not in Houston

By BRIAN MOYLAN
Friday, May 28, 2004

Logo, an all-gay basic cable television channel backed by MTV, will hit the airwaves on Feb. 17, 2005, Viacom officials announced this week.

“What has been missing is a home, a home on television [the gay] audience can call their own,” said Tom Freston, chair and CEO of MTV Networks. “We believe, with this new network, we’ll be providing that home.”

Officials at MTV Networks, which is owned by Viacom, said when the new the new cable channel launches, it will feature 25 percent original programming and 75 percent acquired programming, including previously aired shows and movies.

Judy McGrath, president of MTV Networks Group — which also includes VH1, Comedy Central, Country Music Television, Spike TV, Nickelodeon and TV Land — said that Logo has 40 specials or programs in the development phase and about 20 in the pilot phase.

No specific programming announcements were made this week.

“It’s so important that we roll out a slate of programming that represents the diversity of the gay and lesbian audience,” said Matt Farber, a consultant who proposed the channel and has been spearheading its development. “We want to have that ready and unveil it at a separate time.”

That time may come at the Television Critics Association conference in mid July.

McGrath said that Logo would co-produce shows and specials with other MTV networks and other Viacom-owned properties like Showtime and CBS. She said those behind Logo are working with CBS News to create everything from a monthly gay newsmagazine to regular MTV News-style newsbreaks.

Under current arrangements, Logo will initially be available in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Philadelphia and San Francisco. More cities may be added by the 2005 launch date.

MTV aims to have Logo in 14 million homes by the end of 2005.

As an advertising-based basic cable channel, Logo will be subject to the same standards for programming as any other basic cable channel, which means limited profanity and intense adult situations.

“We’re not using profanity; we’re not using sex,” MTV’s Freston said. “This is going to be mainstream programming that you see everywhere else, except for the fact that it’s targeted to the gay and lesbian community.”

Howard Buford, CEO of Prime Access, Inc., an advertising agency that represents Fortune 500 companies in gay markets, says that Logo has a better chance with advertisers since it’s backed by Viacom.

“[Logo] will be the quality of an MTV or a Comedy Central if Viacom is behind it, and that is going to put at ease any advertisers who might be concerned about content,” he said.

“Research indicates the tremendous loyalty that the GLBT community has toward advertisers that support their values and support their communities,” he said.

Boycott threatened
MTV officials said they expected no backlash over the channel, but hours after Logo was unveiled, the Traditional Values Coalition announced it plans to boycott Logo advertisers.

“It doesn’t improve television,” TVC Chair Rev. Louis Sheldon told the Associated Press. “It only continues to offer moral anarchy for a very seriously dysfunctional lifestyle.”

Buford, who is gay, said a boycott of Logo is ill-advised.

“If [Logo] is following the same standards [as other cable channels], a boycott becomes not about content, it comes down to hate,” he said.

Viacom has said for years it planned on launching a gay channel, but those plans never panned out. The idea was bandied about by the company as early as 1994.

In 2002, Showtime and MTV announced the companies were researching the viability of a gay subscription channel, supposedly to be named Outlet. The plan was dropped, but supposedly resurrected in December 2003.

In March, Viacom Chair and Chief Executive Sumner Redstone told the Wall Street Journal that he ordered Freston to come up with a business plan for a gay channel.

Stiff competition?
Logo will join two other gay cable channels, here!TV, which launched on satellite providers DirectTV in August 2003 and the Dish Network in March 2004, and Q Television Network, which announced this week plans to launch in July.

PridevisionTV, Canada’s gay channel, which started in 2001 and is now in 25,000 homes, said in April that it was still looking for funding to launch on U.S. cable outlets this fall.

Here!TV is an on-demand service, where customers can order gay movies and original programming. It will launch as a 24-hour subscription service, similar to HBO or Showtime, with RCN Cable in Boston, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco in August.

Q Television, also a 24-hour subscription service, is scheduled to announce its cable providers and availability in the next few weeks.

Paul Colichman, president and founder of here!TV, doesn’t see Logo as competition.

“Here!TV is a pay channel, and Logo is basic cable, so we’re on different tiers, we’re not competitors,” Colichman said. “I’m pleased because, as a pay channel, we need a place to sell our programming when we’re done with it. Now we have a place, so I’m rooting for them.”

The original programming for Here!TV includes “Dante’s Cove,” a gay series that just completed filming, and “The Complex,” a lesbian soap opera.

Thanks for the new information about Q television. That was some great research!
This is my first time posting, so hopefully this will go well.
I became an official member this afternoon, but didn't have time to offer up this bit of info... This morning, while everyone was talking about the NY office location, I dialed up Q Television. I think I spoke with David (the young sounding man who answers the phone when Susan is not there). I just told him that a lot of people were wondering about the Madision Avenue office...like address and phone number....that no one was able to locate in the new office in the directory or through information ( which is what I tried this a.m.). So, he (David, I think) told me that the office was indeed in NY, but that it was currently being remodeled and would be up and running as of August 1st. I asked him for the actual address of the office and he said he did not have the physical address of the office at his desk, but reiterated that there was an office opening as of August 1st. So, hope this provides a bit more information. (I called about12:30 p.m. TX time in case anyone is interested....
Just also want to add that I really appreciate everyone's hard work. I have been invested in QBID since late Febuary. I have traded it a couple of times, but I have basically just held on to my shares, waiting for the big launch. Hopefully, the contracts will be announced soon. I would love to wake up and see the BIG pr.

Logo's "Announcement Promo" is eerily reminiscent of the montage from the old TTN website.
http://www.logo-tv.com/faq.html

I think I caught a glimpse of Rosie in theirs, though.

I wish Frank would get his webmaster to at least drag that old thing to the current site to perk it up a little.

Frankie, the website needs a few hours a week from someone. You need to tout your past accomplishments on it, like launching the Movie Channel, and you need a real FAQ page and a company officer bio page. You're not exploiting your biggest selling points, which are your impressive past accomplishments, on the site, which is your only public venue right now. Why??? Ask the handymen you're interviewing if they know any HTML. Pursue an aggressive web presence so we can still feel that there's a pulse to this thing at least, while we're waiting for announcements. We're still standing by you and Qbid, so throw us a bone, fer chrissakes.

Sorry, I'm getting tired of waiting in a vacuum. Time to turn off the computer till tomorrow perhaps. Not bashing, just hate to see such obvious and inexpensive opportunities for self promotion go unused.

We may actually follow Logo into some markets, I'm starting to think, which may not be such a terrible thing. We may have to take market crumbs, like URBT to Viacom's BET. URBT goes from the .40's to near a buck sometimes, which would suit me just fine for my Qbid shares.

G'night. Maybe tomorrow we'll see some activity.

Pretty soon I expect to hear the first carrier has signed on. Not too long after that we will see a major advertiser & then a few more. Then the flood gates will open. After all none of those Consummer Driven Fortune 500 Companies will want to be on the sidelines while their competitors sew up a loyal consumer base working with $500,000,000,000.oo of disposable income.

Somewhere in there another carrier will have signed up. By the time Feb 17th rolls around LOGO's ads will be telling people how they will offer a better product than Q Television Network. That validation alone will propel our share price past the dollar mark for good if we're not already there.

Fact- One of the shortest lists in the world.......Broadcasting National TV Networks that trade for less than a dollar a share!

Fact- QBID is on that list

Not for long!

"All we ever had to do is launch!"

Since its slow around the Q this morning let me post some numbers.

Lets assume for now this thing will eventually be over 3 cents.

At its current price of .0065 lets say you:

Put $1000 into QBID = 153,846 shares
Sell @.039 = $5,000 profit (not bad!)
Sell @.071 = $10,000 profit ( )

Put $5000 into QBID = 769230
Sell @.045 = $30,000 profit (4 months?)
Sell @.078 = $55,000 profit (even if it takes 1 year to get to .08!)

In for the long haul with little money?

Put $500 into QBID = 76,923
Sell @.039 = $2,500 profit (maybe 2 months?)
Sell @.20 = $15,000 profit (you only put $500 of your own money, so thats not a bad return)

THIS IS CONSIDERING YOU SELL ALL SHARES. I PLAN ON SELLING PARTIAL @.05 & .25 AND ALL EVENTUALLY @$1.00

Because we don't make any money.
Why don't we make any money?
Because we don't have any advertisers or subscribers.

Because it takes 3 months to ad us to a cable companys billing cycle? Because we ask to meet in the bat cave in New York and they don't know were to find us?
Because an area like San Fransisco thinks that type of channel is to controversial?

Joe. I say this while banging my fist in stress.
It did not close yet. The charts are for closing prices. If it stays this low its a bad, bad sign! That means we need to look for a new double bottom or another stock.

ALSO REMEMBER, IT HASN'T FILLED THE GAP FROM YESTERDAY. .0075 - .0082. DID IT GAP THIS MORNNING? I MISSED IT.

Funny, Bob!

I read the first 4 lines before I realized only the first line was to be sung to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat". I started thinking, "Man, this guy's not very good at this..."

Sadly, I agree with what you said.

Does anyone think that maybe these little articles about Q that are showing up on these meaningless websites is the "advertising blitz" that was supposed to have started back on June 21st? Q has missed so many ideal opportunities to advertise with all the recent pro-gay events , one would have to think either there has not been any "advertising blitz" or that these little blurps on obsolete websites is it.

I don't. I think that they're just dumb luck that it shows up anywhere at all.

I haven't seen one banner ad, one insert, or one commercial mentioned anywhere.

Considering and assuming they have less then 5 employees, HOW THE HECK CAN THEY BE IN ALL THESE PLACES AT ONCE? They need to hire advertising agents to handle all that. Well how can they meet with advertising agents when they're meeting with cable companies executives? Let the guy sleep sometimes, you know?

Do you think he's just at a bar, having drinks everyday, everyhour, forgetting all about the company?

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Nasdaq market maker Knight Trading Group said Thursday that regulators will likely charge its Knight Securities unit and the company's former chief executive with securities violations.

The firm said it's received "Wells notices" from both the National Association of Securities Dealers and the Securities and Exchange Commission informing it that civil and administrative charges are being considered against Knight (NITE: news, chart) and co-founder Kenneth Pasternak, who announced his retirement as CEO in December 2001, for such violations.

Jersey City, N.J.-based Knight said the notices pertain to investigations into specific trade activity, conduct, supervision and recordkeeping that occurred from 1999 through 2001. The securities unit was renamed Knight Equity Markets last September.

The SEC's probe began in 2002, after Robert Stellato, the company's former head of institutional trading, filed an arbitration claim against Knight.

In his claim, Stellato alleged the company was taking advantage of clients via "front-running" -- the practice of buying stocks ahead of customer orders, then selling the shares to them at a profit.

In a press release Thursday, Knight said the arbitration case is still pending.

Stellato's charges in turn prompted a class-action lawsuit against Knight and Pasternak.

"Knight believes these actions by the SEC and NASD are important next steps toward resolving the outstanding regulatory inquiries and overcoming these legacy issues inherited by new management," said Thomas Joyce, who took over as Knight Trading's CEO in May 2002.

"Knight looks forward to closing this chapter from our past and focusing on the needs of our clients," Joyce said in a statement.

At the time he retired, Pasternak was said to be considering entering politics i

They did. Or they said they did.
Do ad agencies take retainers like a lawyer? They could have paid a retainer and been added to the client list. What promises has Frank kept, the only one I can think of is no RS, and I think thats because he doesn't have an O/S count. It's hard to remeber the last number you counted when you pass out each night, or afternoon.

Well how can they meet with advertising agents when they're meeting with cable companies executives? Let the guy sleep sometimes, you know?

Do you think he's just at a bar, having drinks everyday, everyhour, forgetting all about the company?

I agree, but we would not be having this conversation if they never announced they would be starting one on June 21st. They should have never announced it if they were not going to be carrying it out. As far as sitting in a bar having drinks, yes, sometimes I do think that. When I spoke to Frank a couple months ago, he would not let me get off the phone with him, he kept talking and talking, Finally I gave up trying and just let him ramble. He finally ended the conversation with, "Its been a long day, I need to go get a beer." I told him earlier in the conversation I lived in San Diego and was often playing golf out in Palm Springs, he told me that next time I came out that we should go get a beer. Our conversation took place at about 3:45 in the afternoon. I don't know many CEO's that leave work at 3:45 to get a beer (I don't know for a fact if thats what he did after the conversation) or that have time to speak with an investor for 45 minutes. That was when I first starting having my doubts about Q.
