The Department of Commerce says that barter in its various forms accounts for about thirty percent of the world’s total business. The International Reciprocal Trade Association (IRTA) recently announced that U.S. barter transacted through commercial barter brokers now exceeds $8 billion annually. Over 250,000 U.S. businesses actively use organized barter.
There are many good reasons why more and more businesses worldwide are bartering their products and services, but underlying them all is one fundamental business motivation; businesses profit.
Airlines and restaurants can fill empty seats, hotels and resorts can fill empty rooms, printers can fill press downtime, professionals can fill empty time slots, health care professionals can treat new patients. Business owners and professionals can then take this newfound revenue and reduce cash expenses or expand their operations.
Businesses across America are taking a serious look at barter as a way to build their bottom line, and the rapid growth of the online barter industry can only mean that American business likes what today’s barter industry has to offer.

BTLY has crossed its 40 EMA- a very bullish sign! I tried getting in at .027 this morning but it blew right past me! Resistence at .03 is lessening, I think I'll just take a chunk out of that instead!

There isnt anyone selling right now, almost all the trades have gone through at the ask. I'm not going to miss the train, once .03 falls we enter a new mental and technical trading range

Yes, I agree, once 0.03 is broken we may reach a new trading level and it will be looking up from there, the technicals indicators are already bullish.

looks like there are lot's of posts to catch up..After doing some DD tonight,I might buy as well..
Here are my quick thoughts:
seems to me with little interest this can test .046-.047 level..But first it gotta make a new one month high( above .032) to attract more interest... I might consider two strategies here: buy during any pullback if the PPS sees .033..( to ride it till min .046-47) Or buying @.027(20 Ema which was the support line during the run up in Sept-Oct.) with a tight stop of .023..
I'll check the fundamental side tonight..

I have had a bid in for the last 2 1/2 hrs @ .0295 and it still didn't go through. I also talked to my broker about orders over 10,000 shares at the bid price, do the MM's have to fill them before filling their orders and their response was the MM's are not committed to fill any orders unless at the asking price.

I should've explained better- use btly as example. You have a bid in at .0281, and the MM is at .028- someone places a sell at .028- the MM must either execute your order at .0281 / execute the order for himself at .0281 / or (the way the MM's make money) execute his order at .028 and sell the stock to you at .0281- but the broker is right- he is not obligated to fill your order. The path they choose depends on how the stock is playing.

Here i found how the barter industry works nowadays at the market place.
HOW TODAY'S BARTER INDUSTRY WORKS
Modern Barter is a highly organized, high tech, comminications driven industry. At the heart of the industry is the Trade Exchange, an association of business operators and professionals who have joined together to trade their surplus products and services. The exchange serves simultaneously as a market, a communications network, and a clearing house for transactions among its members much like a bank.
Member businesses sell their goods and services to other members in the exchange for trade dollars which are valued at the equivalent of cash dollars. With each transaction, trade dollars are debited from the buyer's account and credited to the seller's account. The seller can then spend these trade dollars with other exchange members.
Through association with a barter exchange, member businesses find new customers and earn trade dollars selling their surplus which they can then spend with other members for products and services.
INDUSTRY SEGMENTATION Today's barter industry can be seen as a three tiered pyramid with trade exchanges forming the broad base of the structure. Retail Trade - The trade exchange tier of the industry is frequently referred to as retail trade where small to mid-sized businesses and professionals join together to barter their products and services. Exhange members are serviced by trade brokers who function in a manner similar to securities brokers. Brokers bring buyers and sellers together and serve as business advisors to their clients. They rarely act as principals in barter transactions. Instead their roles, established by law, are as third party record keepers.
Corporate Barter - Large businesses such as manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors, often have surplus inventory and production capacity they can trade for needed resources. Rather than taking write down losses or destroying their markets these companies frequently trade their surplus for "purchase credits."
International Barter - Countertrade and international reciprocal trading make up international barter. Countertrade constitutes transactions between governments or multinational companies.

The Trade Exchange is frequently considered another dimension of the financial industry. However, in addition to providing some of the financial resources businesses need, bater companies provide advertising and sales support to create new revenue streams.
Because it offers so many benefits for businesses, the future of the trade exchange is characterized by continued growth and development. Taking full advantage of these benefits is a powerful motivation for companies to employ a qualified barter company.
As the industry grows and develops, the sophistication and professionalism of companies within the industry is also expanding. The current outlook calls for consolidation of independent exchanges into larger, more sophisticated, electronic clearinghouses where professionals barter brokers come together to help their clients increase sales, improve cash flow, and develop new profits.

**** BTLY **** **** HOT INFORMATION **** PLEASE READ
ADVANTAGES
Barter has many real advantages for businesses -- one you may not think of at first is the fact that in a barter transaction, there are no accounts receivable, & therefore no bad debt possible. We appreciate barter's ability to profitably get rid of excess inventory, penetrate new markets, & expand sales while avoiding costly writeoffs, maintaining working capital, increasing cash flow, & reducing the need to borrow. Those advantages translate to increased profits.
We like what BTLY is doing -- management's aggressive posture should, in our opinion, result in rapid growth. We like the fact that BTLY will concentrate on small to medium sized businesses. We like the fact that as the number of offices & franchisees grows, & the number of businesses that become members increases, the growth rate will accelerate. This is because the greater the diversity & number of businesses that accept barter dollars, the more every member business will rely on barter transactions.
Keep in mind that we are providing you with this profile at as early a point in the company's history as possible. We want you to be aware of what is being planned, so you can watch this company's progress, & decide whether to take a position when the share price is at its current attractive low level.
We really like the barter direction, & for the purposes of giving you data at this time, we have assumed that all of the various steps surrounding BTLY's recent decisions to acquire the barter related operations will indeed be successfully completed.
