I also like the fact that the stock is in a general long term uptrend, probably because of the industry that its in.

Another point to make about Barter- it helps a lot of global corporations avoid the issue of currency conversion, and currency risk- that is why many companies are starting to move to barter. Keep in mind the USD keeps hitting new lows against the Euro- its much easier and cost effective for a US company to barter than pay cash for assets or services.

Cabbage,

As always... great follow through. Your tech analysis is outstanding as usual. I further like your elaboration of the barter industry as a whole. Thanks for your enlightenment. mach

cabbage22, this is great, thank you for all your help. This information is very good, we are in the same page here.

Other Factors to Consider:

Company Name Change- the company is changing their name from Bentley Communications to Bentley Commerce. This will stop people from naked shorting, since all shorts need to be COVERED before the name change and will put buying pressure on the stock.

Hot Industry- Bentley Communications Corp. (OTCBB:BTLY - News), the emerging online leader in the trade and barter industry, reports that industry trade groups are showing a robust 6% growth in the $12 billion retail barter industry, driven by significant increases in the range of products and services available on barter, and the ability to provide businesses with an easy way to sell extra inventory, help when they are short on cash and expand sales.[/B]

Mach, here we have the definition of Naked Short Selling ...

What Is Naked Short Selling?

Naked short selling takes place when shares of a public company are sold short and the borrowing of shares to legitimize a real short position is not executed. The result is that the shares sold "naked short" are never delivered by the seller, and shares are not borrowed to provide affirmative determination, and the seller collects money for the stock in three business days. Not borrowing shares pursuant to a short sale turns the transaction into a naked short sale.

BTLY is one of over 106 companies doing battle with these MM tactics. Take care! mach

Congrats Mach, another good find!
I'm in for 19000, tried to pick up another 21000 before the bell, but just missed. Order is in for tomorrow.
I could live off these cusip changes. Is there a way to find companies that have applied for a change?

thanks, dz

i don't know the first thing about techs, but can input about this type of biz.
my best friends dad owned a pharmacy and was part of a "barter Club". i believe the company was southern barter, but don't quote me. they traded with all types of companies, from furniture stores to tatoo parlers. all locally owned buisnesses. i t was a great system, for instance. mach, mav and uncle milty had accounts. mav could get xyz from mach, mach could get zyx from uncle and uncle could getsomething from mav. now multiply those exchanges with hundreds if not thousands of retail outlets. my buddy and his family loved it.
later in life (during college) ny buddy went to work for them as a salesman. either my buddy was the worst salesman ever or there is a limit on the number of buisinesses that would partake in such a thing. like i said it is all local businesses.

great business, midevil (sp?) idea, unlimited potential?

i am not a tech man, but i thought that i would give you an example of how this stuff works.

You're right on target Mav- good tech analysis.
It looks more like a double bottom, each bottom can be pointed out with the "stokes" where they dip below 50, and with the moving averages where the 5 day drops and rises over the 10 day. The appearance of a third bottom was created by one small 5000 sh. sale yesterday at .023 (weak hand) when in reality the stock was under accumulation from .025 to .026- you can see this with the bulk of the candles of the past two days forming hammers.

I checked money flow, which has been positive since that last bottom- again great work Mav, you have a lot of tech experience and it shows!

Tommy I know you're lurking- are you the guy that can give us a more defined read on the EMA's? Or was it PSU, still hemmoraging from IBZT, oh my head!

Hehe guys, don't forget about PGHI!

I guess that I started a new kind of trading frenzy by posting that stocks changing their symbols will run up because of the MM's having to cover all naked shorts! Good job here guys, 2004 will be a great year for all of us!

Thanks for the message! Yes, as I said... its on my list. I have seen so many stocks explode with the cusip changes that I had to jump on here. Only a few trading days away. But keep in mind. Much more big news to support a big upward move by BTLY is coming! mach

Mav, I will elaborate. In case anyone is wondering what this chart means. Triple bottom is a strong bullish indictor when a stock holds the floor the third time it touches it. This is bullish. Also the MACD 0.00 crossover will be HUGE! When this happens the stock will become very bullish very fast. This in fact could occur by next Monday which is also COINCIDENTLY the same day as the name change! mach

TRS,

This industry is huge as you said! Glad to see you have been accumulating. Go PGHI and BTLY! mach

About the Barter Industry:

The International Reciprocal Trade Association estimates that in the U.S. alone, over 470,000 companies actively participate in barter for a total of over $12 billion in annual sales, with retail barter expanding by about 6 percent annually, according to the National Association of Trade Exchanges. Over 65% of the corporations listed on the New York Stock Exchange are presently using barter to reduce surplus inventory, bolster sales and ensure that production facilities run at near capacity. Corporate barter is already a growing $20 billion worldwide industry. The US Department of Commerce estimates that Countertrade, used by multi-national companies and governments to trade excess products and production capacity for other needed products, totals over $600 billion annually.

From the website....about the CEO. Impressive resume!

Key Executives

Gordon Lee is chairman and CEO of Bentley Communications Corporation. He was CEO and CFO of Bentley since March 1999. He has been involved with emerging growth companies in the private and public arena for more than 20 years. He was founder, and former chairman of USA Video, which introduced the world to video on-demand. Today, USA Video is an international developer and supplier of high-tech Internet streaming video and video-on-demand services, systems, and innovative end-to-end solutions. In 1993, he founded Future Media Technologies. a pioneer in digitized & compressed video. It is the first company whose standard for picture quality met the criteria demanded by Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. and other leading studios. It gained the rights to digitize and compress these firms' enormous film libraries. In 1998 he briefly entered the public safety sector, working on the refinement of a bullet-resistant glass coating for cars and office buildings. This technology was sold off for commercial development and resulted in a standard option on nearly all new European cars, including BMW & Mercedes. In 1999, he founded Startek.com, that enable wireless high-speed Internet access. He launched Bentley Communications Corporation to facilitate e-commerce and alternative commerce on a global scale, focusing on business-to-business applications.

This is great info indeed. I have seen a lot of information about the Barter industry and BTLY and this is a mayor event, the new web site, then it proves that the management team is working real hard to get this company in the big leagues of the Barter business. Very Good find Stockguy04, thank you. Great DD.
