Isn't the White House large enough to house some of these homeless. They might enjoy just some of the things that are a pure waste. Wouldn't Bush just crap if someone took a bus load of these inocent victims up there and dropped them off on the steps.

Agreed! There's also plenty of room at the Bush ranch in Texas, and more room in Maine at the Bush compound there.

You asked, "what i want to know is how the one (the head nut) in DC ( i.e., dubya) got the top job?????
Well, now let me explain something. You ain't ever gonna get to the details of that, because they started an unnecessary war in IRAQ to cover it all up: that is, to made you look the other way long enough instead of diggin out the details back then before they could destroy the records. All gone now!

This morning, after having watched on tv a mother holding a baby that apparantly couldn't cry anymore and hearing her beg for help for the child and seeing crowds of people aimlessly wandering on raised intersatates that had had not a single drop of water to drink in days, I woke up determined to go to Louisiaanna and try to help.
I would have gone too, except not too many steps out of the bed my bad left knee gave out and caused me to twist on my swollen right foot. It hurt like seven Devils. I couldn't help, dammit! I'd end up being someone that needed rescueing. I feel useless and terrible. And sick at the lack of planning and leadership from that cadre of liars and fools in DC! A FEW SOIL SAMPLES, A HALF ORGANIZED PLAN, SOME BULL DOZERS, AND THE FUNDING NOT SCARFED OFF TO "FAVORED" INTELLEGENT DESIGN EFFORRTS AND THOSE LEVIES WOULD HAVE BEEN REWORKED ALREADY. IT HAD BEEN PLANED AND FUNDED BEFORE! THOUSANDS WOULD NOT BE TRAPPED IN THIS MESS AND MILLIONS WOULD NOT BE LIKE ME, UNABLE TO HELP.
It ain't dubya's fault my a--. It was him and his prepared budget that took the already alloted funding for flood prevention in New Orleans and blew it on "faith based charity" and a war in Iraq. He's the reason that baby's chance of living is pretty much over.

Can't really conferm this but I wonder why more people are not talking about it. Many are quick to blame everything on the President only. If I remember correctly, the stadium shelter idea was from the states governor. http://powerlineblog.com/archives/011537.php

Saw a hospital patient, still in "gown," had somehow managed to fashion a "raft" from a sheet of plywood. Weary, head drooping, barely hanging on--got scooped up by some guys in a boat, though...
Wonder why they don't grab flooded vehicles endangering the streets and drop them in front of holes in the levvy, to give the sandbags some purchase?
Several school systems here have thrown doors wide open for displaced kids, including two local universities. Same with motels: at least one Dallas La Qunita has deferred payment *and* sponsored on-site job fair. Will figure out the dough later. Good stuff...
Meanwhile, last I heard Rush was lambasting celebrities and "Hollywood" for doing nothing unless self-serving. Nicholas Cage stepped up to bat with a cool $1mm out of his pocket; musicians nationwide are putting on benefits; Jerry Lewis announces MDA telethon will include fund-rasing for Katrina relief. What timing. That's some big dough, pretty quickly coming online. Still haven't heard the size of Rush's donation, yet... Anybody else heard?
It will be the people who turn the tide. We'll have to investigate later where the guvment broke down...Congress is only now clamoring for an investigation into gasoline price gouging. Slow? My gawd...

i don't know why everybody is so surprised about the slow response... i kept hearing how well Bush handled 911, 6 months or so later...but they forgot about the goat story and the school children real FAST..
they'll spin him back into a great prez in a month or two...

Bush his own self just said the breach must be filled [in the levvy], and that even though he's leaving in a few minutes, he knows it's a national concern. Said the great city of NO will rise again, even greater--then he made some reference to Houston where he used to have too much fun...

It sureisn't any kind of animal with a brain or a conciience. The reason the levies remained unreconstructed was because dubya removed the funds that the congress before he took ofice had alloted for that purpose in the 90s. Had he not, all those babies we get to see starving and dying of thirst wouldn't have to. That levy and any other flood control projects along the Mississippi and it's watershed are NOT WITHIN the jurisdiction or contrrol of the local governments.
