The good part of that shut down news is the statements are from Honey and Carol Hinant for a change instead of whats his face. I'd be more suspicious if he was stating the facts instead.

That MAY be true, but this news pretty much guarantees that there will not be any really amazing PR for the next couple weeks.

MT I agree with you, but since NONE OF US KNOWS FOR SURE, all we can do is wait ... which is what we've been doing anyway, so it's business as usual for me tomorrow. Anyone for a little poker while we wait?
Edited: Just saw your re-post from the guy who says he knows about production companies and believes this is normal and exactly as they've told us. Maybe we'll get enough "positive" opinions tomorrow to offset the "negative" opinions that we always get. By the way, poker game is still on at my house. I'll provide beer and pretzels ... everyone else can just bring money.

well it all plays into my theories that Frank wants this price where it is for a reason.
he could have announced that they where going to close the studio, but the shock of it happening without warning will cause many to dump thier shares.
Frank has been playing the shell game for the last month, selling shares high buying back at half the price for the last month. the mms are playing the game with him because they get a cut.
i would not be surprised to see that Frank has reduced the float in the last month by at least a quarter of the volume that we have seen in the last month. and he did it with the week hands money. This is the final spike to shake loose more shares. to buy back.
i honestly think it is way too early in the year to have to shut down for 2 weeks for organizing.
I can however see where the crew deserve a break. live programing has been going on now for over a year with no breaks so to speak.
Frank has promised us a lot of things over the last year and a half. they are slowly but shurely coming true. way past thier deadlines, but that is what Frank is most known for.
however. things have to start coming together, as he can not be late about covering a live sporting event that is only 5 months away.
am i worried about this? not in the least.
i wasnt expecting it, but if my theory is correct, we are going to see a pile of dumping going on, and the shares are going to get sucked up like a 200 gallon wet vac is at work.
im holding.
this was in the works. im sure from the gay games meeting that took place when our troopers where at the studio.

I have to admit that I feel a little uplifted from the news lately, its better than the total silence and ravaging of my investment. I have nothing to win by silence and mystery and a lot to gain from progress. 2 more weeks of silence is OK when we know whats going on.

very interesting......... ok my first question would be to doc ..imac and davidjanus did you guys have any idea about this...it really don't matter..but figured i would ask...imo this seem like a positive thing...i agree with most of the post tonight..two weeks to reorg. and saving 2 weeks worth of payrole to buy back more shares..there is no way that q could just get this deal with verizon...plus the gay games and all the carriers that have been comming on board and fail...frank has been playing this and probably all of us like a grand piano...will this stock go throught the roof when they come back in 2 weeks...very doubtful..but at that point imo the pps with rise alittle...withing time this will be a good investment...but i would not count on that vegas party for at least 1 to 2 years ...all of this is imo...i will probably pick up some more shares this week..but i like playing the long shots...good luck everyone

The news is “stops production of shows”, its not “stops broadcast”. Who said Q is supposed to be producing live shows 365 days a year? Let us not forget, all of the major networks run reruns all summer long. We can’t just assume everytime something that we find odd happens, Q is going down. The Gay games are important and need to be a homerun. Signing a Dish or Direct TV carrier is huge and needs to be done right. You only have one chance to make a first impression and the worst thing a company could do is grow at a pace that is faster that it can handle. Then all hell breaks loose. Getting Dish or Direct TV is going nationwide and being noticed by everybody. I sure hope they are ready when that happens. I believe, now that Q has a pretty big library of its own shows, it can afford to go into planning mode and have management concentrate on putting the last pieces together before before they go to the next level.
This is normal stuff. Lets not try to make a big deal out of it. Of course, IMHO.
DOC, Imak, were you surprised at what happened today??

DIG I agree with you. Now that my initial panic has subsided and I am almost sober again, I think this is a logical move to get Q ready for the Gay Games and other important projects.
I don't know network production, so I cannot speak with authority, but I have worked in consumer product manufacturing and know that most companies shut down or minimize production for a couple weeks every year to perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades. And "laying off" hourly workers who are not needed during the shut down is totally normal.
I cannot confirm this is what's happening at the Q studio, but the PR they released seems pretty straight forward and logical.
In my opinion, we either believe the PR or we don't. If we believe it, we just wait till Feb. 13. If we don't believe it, we dump our shares as fast as possible and use the income for a double pepperoni pizza. Since I don't really like pizza, I'm holding until I see a reason to sell.

Ive worked in Hollywood for 8 years in Production.. This is NORMAL operations for any type of production company..
Step #1 Send the UNION people home immediately.. They command the most money.
The fact that they choose to do it all at once with all their shows only says to me that they are doing exactly what they say they are doing...
REVAMPING... I expect A HUGH NEW LOOK for Q on FEB 13th..
Studios go black all the time... They just saved a MILLION dollars..
Also gives your talent a nice two weeks off before the big push to GAY GAMES..
REMEMBER THE 14th is VALENTINES day..
LETS HOPE FOR A BASHER MASACRE IMO

I have to admit, that announcement scared the crap out of me, but this post MT quoted makes me feel much better. Who knows—they may even put out a PR just before the 13th with share counts, financial information and making the audit public on their new web site, announcing that they have just completed a huge buyback of shares ($100K buys 1B shares at .0001), and their new lineup of shows that meets the original content requirements for a carriage contract with Direct TV or Dish Network.
When I dream, I dream big!

SAM, all that is possible if Frank gets his act together, except for the buyback.
I think that alot of people on this board think there is a buyback occuring and i do wonder to, but really, nobody is selling. PT said that weak hands were being shaken free. No, not 40 Billion shares in the last 3 weeks. Us investors hold maybe 3B.
All that could happen but i highly highly highly doubt a buyback. only thing that leads me to wonder is that Frank has been awfully quiet. Something is just not adding up.
And DISH i would except, but i dont think Directv will sign on anytime soon

yes the more i think about this the better it all looks....doc ..imac and davidjanus imo will be proved totally right....the hints that have been comming for the past few weeks were leading to this..most likly they knew not of the studio going black but of what was to happen upon return..new shows..possibly a major buyback and maybe we will even get to finally meet the lost dog AUDIT...we can only hope...but just by common sense all of the signs are here..and this may just bust wide open like a dam..it would be nice ...

Hey, everyone. I am very encouraged by the many logical, well-worded and positive posts tonight following Q's PR. I expected an onslaught of doom-and-gloomers ... but so far, we've been spared. Hope it continues to be this quiet, polite and civil tomorrow.

Thanks for the clarification, MT. I thought it was a Q announcement. Guess I didn't read the PR close enough. Although I don't understand why Out.com would release the PR instead of Q, I don't think it changes anything. But I'll re-read everything and do some more thinking. Anyone have any theories?
Well, I gotta hit the hay too. So, good night, MT. Good night, John Boy. Good night, everyone. Tomorrow should be another interesting day in the Land of Q.

MT- I hope so, and i'm still in the dark on that subject. I still would think the pps would want to be raised, before dumping so low. And low is where I would want to buy back. Are they dumping or buying?

B/L, great i'm glad you like the good vibes. It is peculiar that the blackout was not announced to the shareholders, it doesn't raise confidence in whats his faces communication skills to the shareholders is. Its almost like they just wanted the subs to be aware. Just an observation. Not trying to cause depression. Just think if I sold my shares the other day I could be eating a tombstone pizza right now.

And the really difficult part will be how to tell my wife ...

Could Frank be a dummy CEO? What I mean is, is he just a figurehead with an actual CEO running the reigns behind the scenes?
