I do travel part-time for a friend and do mostly "warm weather" trips, such as the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii. Places Ohio people like during the winter.

However, we have an agency in Cleveland that specializes in European travel since several agents there have European heritage. Be glad to give you their phone number, but let's do it offline so we don't interfer with the Q traffic.

If you enable your PM, I will send their number to you and will alert them that you might call. No obligation, of course.

Sells can be very expensive with Fidelity. I know because I have a fidelity account. I was using their commission estimator to see what it would cost me to get out at my planned sell point and was not very happy.

Fidelity has cost me $100s and in one case $1000s on a trade due to their extra fees. I still have an IRA with them but I basically dont touch it anymore. They bite for any regular consistent trading.

Same deals with Etrade cost me only $9.99.

Check my math...
1mil shares sold at .0005 = $500
Half a percent is 50 cents per $100, total of $2.50. Total cost of the trade would be $9.50, still under most brokerages cost per trade. I don't think that 1/2% really adds much to the cost.

Good point. I did some math and figured that it won't hurt my friend for most of his trades. He expects to do only a few hundred dollars worth at a time.

But if he buys QBID and it hits $1.00+ . . . just dreaming, folks, not pumping. [Big Grin]

Thanks to everyone for the good info on brokers.

My friend thanks you too. He probably will go with Scottrade because they require less to get started, and he doesn't plan to trade much (but just wait till he gets addicted like all of us [Big Grin] ).

Anyway, appreciate all your help.

I have sent many friends to Scottrade. They want $500 to open an account, but for many of my friends, they waived that and allowed them to open with much less. Your person could give that a try.

Millertime, here ya go:

CMKM Draws Curtain On Its Life As Public Company

10/26/2005
Dow Jones News Services
(Copyright © 2005 Dow Jones & Company, Inc.)

By Carol S. Remond
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Struggling mineral exploration company CMKM Diamonds Inc. (CMKX) has ended its fight to reverse a decision by the Securities and Exchange Commission to revoke the registration of its stock.

An administrative judge ruled in July that the SEC could deregister the shares of CMKM Diamonds because the company failed to file annual and quarterly financial reports with the SEC since 2002. The company had filed an appeal with the SEC.

CMKM Diamonds said in an SEC filing this week that "As a result of the recent events surrounding CMKM," it has withdrawn its petition for review and asked the SEC to institute the revocation.

CMKM Diamonds, a tiny Las Vegas company looking for diamonds in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, has been trading on the unregulated Pink Sheets market, where billions of CMKM Diamonds shares routinely change hands daily. CMKM Diamonds' elusive number of outstanding shares had been the topic of much speculation until earlier this year, when the company said it had some 703.5 billion shares issued and outstanding.

The SEC temporarily halted trading in CMKM Diamonds shares in March, citing questions about the "adequacy of publicly available information concerning, among other things, CMKM Diamonds' assets and liabilities, mining and other business activities, share structure and stock issuances, and corporate management."

The July 12 initial decision giving the SEC the go-ahead to deregister CMKM Diamonds stock included a laundry lists of problems with the company's financial records. It shows that CMKM failed to cooperate with an audit aiming to bring the company back into compliance with securities laws. "For example, (the accountant) was not provided documents that support CMKM Diamonds' issuance of more than $24 million in stock pursuant to an 'unknown agreement'. (The accountant) also is unsure whether CMKM Diamonds' purported acquisition of a jade collection, supposedly worth $56 million, has or has not been reversed," the order said.

The initial deregistration order also showed that CMKM continued to provide shareholders with inaccurate information even after it was first contacted by the SEC. For example, CMKM Diamonds said in March that it had relocated its executive offices to 5375 Procyon Street in Las Vegas when it fact that address was occupied only by a "hot rod" shop.

CMKM has had a cult-like following by small investors, some of whom post vociferously on several online bulletin boards. While some of these shareholders appear to have put their hopes in CMKM Diamonds' mining operations, others thought that they could profit from a short squeeze that would force investors who took bearish positions on the company's stock to cover their trades. A lawyer representing some of these shareholders attempted in vain to introduce alleged evidence that CMKM Diamonds had been the victim of illegal short selling, dubbed naked short selling, during the administrative hearing over the company's future this summer.

A spokesman for the SEC said Wednesday that the Commission received CMKM Diamonds' petition for deregistration but has yet to act on it.

CMKM Diamonds shares were recently trading at $0.0001, unchanged on a volume of more than 850 million shares.

CMKM Diamonds has been the subject of several Dow Jones Newswires "In The Money" columns that highlighted its huge daily trading volume and the lack of information surrounding the company and its mineral claims.

I think even a detailed summary would take some time to tell, and I don't know of anyone who knows the entire story, and I'm sure there would be lots of dissagreement. Any specific thing you want to know or the entire saga?

yeah, maybe not detailed but a quick summary...i thought that some of the members of this board had been invovled with CMKX at one point and knew a bit about it...

I just mean did they ever find diamonds, were they continuing pumping things like they were close, or what? do they have anything...i really have absolutely no idea what cmkx was all about..

just something to talk about during a slow day

LMAO...you know thats the best part about QBID...is that whether i am down big or not, between you guys and ihub, i really do laugh my ass off at some of the jokes cracked on here at Q's expense...

I think i must be crazy, because i really dont expect to loose anything on this and would be disappointed if i didnt sell for at least 1 cent...and im not pumping guys...

some of the best jokes i hear are things like.
"i am hanging a sign on my door this halloween, "No candy for you kids thanks to Frank olsen"
and
"im going to have to wrap up a present this year at christmas (the only present) that has a big picture of Frank olsen, because there wont be anything else)

ahahah, i must be a to optimistic and laid back person to get to worried...

MillerTime, CMKX was a fraud, mis-leading PR'S
wild claims of success and massive dilution was the whole game.

Early on the pumping machines were in high gear, some of the scenerios for success were right off the chart for BS.

They never found a diamond in Canada as far as I know..

I still have 600k shares of nothing! It's now a dead stock.

I kept my shares for entertainment value.

The story will probably be told and studied for years.

May change the way the Pinks operate.

I know thats a mighty simplistic answer to your question, but yes, I did own the stock and I got burned.
