That was totally wacked out!!! I used to do concrete work and know first hand the size and weight of a slab of concrete that large, not to mention the hundreds of pieces of steel rebar that holds it together. It blew my mind and if I would not have seen it with my own eyes I would have NEVER believed it!!

Some of you guys scare me. I wonder how you can buy into a company and not know basic facts like that the company uses recycled plastics to make their rebar...

I don't see the price of oil being that big of a factor for PLNI.

It wont directly affect us because we use recycled that was already used and paid for, but it will affect the cost of the new stuff. I am beginning to think the company that is going to start refining methanol out of corn(ADM)to be used in the production of plastic rather than oil is going to be the play of the next 2 years, company is profitable and yields nice returns when oil is over $46 per barrel!!!!

As far as Turek saying high oil costs......that was due to transportation and shipping costs of the product coming to them for manufacturing, and then shipping finished product out.

Some of the most basic of facts are that there is no "plastic rebar"....they make plastic rebar supports, called "rebar chairs". I have heard that they are experimenting with plastic rebar. But as of now it is supports they make.

Well, yes...

Whether it is rebar or rebar supports though, it doesn't really affect the stock price. Thinking that it is made straight from oil does affect the stock price!

the price of oil is not a big factor at this time to plni as a matter of fact it is a plus unless this is a sustained position in our economy forever wich in case it will cause the recycle business to change to full other markets that did not exsits before and cause new industry to compete for recycles but this is far in the future and like all markets they change all the time either for social, ecoomic,or political reasons. but ask yourself this a lot of people that are supposed to be in the know are saying $4.00 a gallon by christmas that might not be out of the question since san franisco is at $3.50 now at places in the city. how many years do you think the consumer can handle that. or all the other industries that will be affected imho not very long until a change is forced

Another point: steel industry signs contracts long in advance. The only issue for a steel company is when the contract comes up for renewal--not the day-to-day price of oil.

Good morning, Bond. I donated $40 to Catholic Charities, and I strongly encourage anyone who can spare anything to donate to the charity of their choice. Amazon.com and Google, for starters, have buttons up for contributions.

VERY good point.

Here's a long list of charities that's part of a blogoshpere fund-raising appeal. Lots to choose from, from a reputable source. If you're uncertain, it's never a bad bet to go with some of the big names--Catholic Charities, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc.

Guys, this is my first "official" post. So, if I misrepresented something, please let me know.

http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=PLNI,uu[h,a]daclyyay[dc][pd12,2!c5!f][vc60][iut!Ub12!La12,26,9]&pref=G

If you look at this chart, take heed of the Bollinger Bands...

You'll notice that the RSI is trading comfortably in the 50 range with it only dropping below the 20 line only twice in the past year for very brief periods of time. So, get ready for a jump.

Also, the Bollinger Bands show a tight trading range just aching for a break out. Of course, our PR and audits won't hurt either.

Oh yeah, the MACD is trading pretty flat as well. You'll also notice from past months that flat MACDs were followed by gigantic increases.

This is just a note to remind us all not to give up. After all is said and done, charts don't lie. [Big Grin]

Current Larry Oakley's Stock Pick:

Date Posted: 08/30/05

Plasticon International, Inc. (OTC Other: PLNI)

Here's a Real Find

PLNI, having begun in 1989 & profitable beginning in Q2 2005, designs, produces, & distributes high-quality concrete accessories, transportation signage, plastic lumber, & office supplies which are all produced from recycled & recyclable plastics. That makes PLNI a green company, environmentally-friendly. Its products are covered by issued patents & patents pending. It has applied for, & has been granted approvals for its products by the U.S. Department of Transportation & by every U.S. state & Canadian province. Its products are used in all 50 states, throughout Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, & Asia.

Let's look at just one of its products -- it uses recycled plastics to make rebar supports.

That doesn't sound romantic, but the market for rebar supports is about $30 billion. The market for another of its product lines -- highway signage, is about $20 billion.

First, What is a Rebar Support?

When anything is built using concrete (bridges, buildings, highways, & almost any structure), it has to be reinforced with heavy steel bars. That's because concrete has strong compression strength, but can easily break if you try to bend it. We'll use the concrete beams in highway bridges as one example, but actually every structural item made of concrete needs those steel bars, called rebars. In the concrete beam, the rebars must be placed in very specific locations inside the concrete & have to be the entire length of the beam in order to make sure the beam will be strong enough to support both the static (weight that doesn't move) & dynamic (things like trucks that move) loads the beam will have to support.

If you just laid those rebars in the form used to make the beam without accurately positioning them, the beam would probably break before it is even put into place. To be able to make sure the rebars are in the exact positions that will make the beam strong, rebar supports are used. They are placed every few feet.

Why use PLNI's Patented Plastic Rebar Supports?

In the past & still in about 95% of the cases, the rebar supports have been made of relatively thin sheet steel that is bent into shape & strong enough to keep the rebars in place as the concrete is poured into the form used to make the beam.

That works, but there are two problems:

1. The steel rebar supports rust, & deteriorate in time (it's called concrete corrosion, & costs this country billions of dollars per year). That causes a void in the concrete. That in turn leads to breakage with pieces of the concrete breaking away. Have you ever seen a bridge with a piece of rebar sticking out from an area that has been broken off? That's what I mean. The result is that the beam often no longer has the strength to do its job -- pretty dangerous.

2. Rusting takes place as the concrete sets, which causes the outside of the beam to have rust areas. Because of this, Marriott, for example, wants its concrete buildings to look neat & clean, so began to use rebar supports made of stainless steel -- very expensive.

PLNI to the rescue -- here are just some of the advantages of its patented recycled plastic rebar supports:

• Far less expensive than stainless steel.
• Impervious to moisture.
• Does not conduct electricity.
• Does not rot, crack, splinter, or degrade.
• Uses environmental waste as raw material
• Will nor corrode, deteriorate, or decompose.
• Lasts forever.
• Many times stronger than steel.

My Opinion

This is another winning situation. CEO Jim Turek has transformed an industry. The revenue & profit potential of this situation is quite substantial. With about 95% of the $30 billion market for its plastic rebar supports still available, the size of the market is huge.

There are about 2 billion shares out, insiders own about 80%, & the float is about 500 million shares. As I write this today (8/30/2005 @ 3:02 p.m.), it is trading at a modest $0.015.

Go to www.plasticonintl.com, click on "About Us" to see examples where these products are already in place. Call PLNI's IR firm at 866-843-2775.
