I thought it would be good to repost this on the new thread. Also, I have now sent this to an additional 150 people for a total of a little over 300. I sent this over AOL/AIM and Yahoo messengers. I also went into a few “alternative lifestyle” chat rooms and advertised the channel. I averaged about 20 people an hour over a 4 hour “shift” that wanted to learn more, and about 15 an hour that agreed to forward the below text to their buddy list. The funny thing is that I averaged over 25 people an hour that made… other offers

I really think this can be the digital way of having the same success as the “I want my MTV” campaign. I deliberately left out the QBID stock symbol, and any reference to inviting because, as a cause, this can spread like wild fire, as an investment ploy, it will likely be ignored as spam. I highly recommend following up with individual people on your list, so you can be sure it wasn’t ignored. It will also create an opportunity for you to educate more people about this new channel.
I really want to get some feedback from you guys. There are many smart people that post here, and I feel your ideas and support on this campaign will be very valuable.
Even if you do nothing, you may soon get IMed this plea for support from someone you know, just because it will spread so far.

I am also thinking about making up some kind of business cards with “I want my QTV” on one side, and a description of the channel and a compelling plea for support on the back with the URL to the request site. Then I’ll make some trips to gay clubs in NJ and PA and hand them out. What do you guys think about this? Anyone want to help out? I figure I can get out several thousand cards easy. I'm sure some people I meet will be glad to take 5 or 10 and give them out to people they know.

Someone had a great idea of helping Q. Then many others pitched in with their wonderful thoughts. We are investors who want to do our part. All ideas should be explored. Between the various Q boards, a sizeable number of dedicated warriors (Qarriers!) are willing to help. Some have started, on their own, to get the word out. Their actions are commendable. We are the “grass roots” and that is where our strength lies. Another positive for us is our diverse geography. Being scattered would seem, to some, a negative; but I see it as a strength.
Like others, I’ve been pondering what we could do by utilizing our assets. 1. We know far more about Q and the gay media industry than most. 2. We are our own support group. We have shown each other that we are capable of working together and sharing to get the job done. 3. We are a very creative group. 4. The straight members are at ease with the gay members and don’t seem to carry that “Homophobia” non-sense with them. 5. We know our fortune is tied with the success of Q. 6. We are willing.
I want to say that I’m very proud to be a member of this board. It is you who make me proud. I wish to make my little contribution to the thought process of how to help Q. This is what I came up with:
How many gay oriented/friendly establishments (clubs, bars, retail, restaurants, etc.) are there in the US? My guess is that it’s in the tens of thousands. That is where I propose to go. If each, on an average, signs up 15 prospective subscribers we could give Frank possibly a million potential new subs.
How do we do it? We need to work with Frank. Q’s web site has a sign-up page with a drawing for a trip to The Gay Games. We expand on this. If Frank offers a trip for six, we could get a beer company involved (I’ll tell you why 6 later). Q prints an advertising package for these various establishments to promote Q and The Gay Games. Included would be how to get to the Q web site and how to register for the drawing by requesting Q on their local cable carrier. You, me or anyone can request the packets and distribute them to our local gay establishments; from gay bars to gay friendly dry cleaners these packets would advertise Q and the drawing. The straight investors and supporters would have no problem distributing and setting up gay supportive establishments alongside the gay investors.
The web site would have a space to fill in for the establishment who would also win six tickets. The person bringing the packet to the establishment and getting them to display it would win six tickets. Motivation is the name of the game here. People are motivated to canvas their community to place Q’s posters. The establishments are motivated to display and encourage their clientele to request Q service on their cable carrier thru Q’s web site and the clientele are motivated to act and tell their friends. The prize for each tier is large enough that everyone in each tier would be aggressively promoting Q. As people learn about Q and register they are motivated to get packages and distribute them to their frequented establishments. QTN is thus spread far and wide.
We (with Q’s assistance) could approach a beer company to help sponsor the drawing and distribution. Their logo would be on the posters too. We could call this something like “take 3 SIX packs to the Gay Games” in reference to a six-pack of beer. Who ever wins is probably a local customer of the establishment and the packet poster person is a local too! What a party this could make for the winning establishment. Everyone knows everyone. It would be worth a Q On The Move segment to deliver the winning notifications!
Could we get Orbitz, American West, The Hilton Hotel Chicago, a beer company and The Gay Games to help sponsor? (More poster logos.) We need QTN to set it up and WE would do the legwork to bring in every gay establishment in the country. Just think of the name recognition!

While I still stand by what I say, I think a PR is the only way to officially move the stock with any significance. And yes, if we see an audit completed, this is a .02 stock as long as the O/S is under 16 billion. Remember that Frank owns half the shares, so the float is likely 7 bilion. From my SIRI "daily-volume" analysis I determined exactly 6.9 billion I believe. But I don't know if I like that. The best thing is for Frank to just tell us the O/S and how it has changed since February of 2004 when they announced what it was. He's probably more concerned now (and right so) about getting carriers, and if they are as close as they are saying they are, then I can understand not wanting to talk about O/S, because they'd rather buy it all back up before the carrier announcements pop it.
Also, it is important to note that Tuesdays are generally the historic PR days. IE, the best news seems to come out on Tuesdays for QBID. This week, with the 4th thrown in there, might be a bit different. If you want to get in, you might still have time.

If Chicago won the bid for gay games 2006... And QTV has exclusive rights to televise it... Then perhaps the city of Chicago itself has a vested interest in QTV gaining carriage by 2006?

Jennifer I also agree with your speculation about next week. And I especially agree with you about Frank's business strategy.
I have a lot of faith in Frank, mainly because I see him as a man with a dream rather than someone simply creating a for-profit enterprise. That is why I cannot imagine him selling Q before he sees his dream come true.
And I believe he will do anything he can to make his "baby" Q succeed . . . maybe as a memorial to his time on earth or maybe to assist and reward those who shared his world (the gay community). And if he makes money in the process, that's okay with me . . . because I will make money too.
I am not nominating him for sainthood, but I admire him, I believe in him, and I want very much to meet him someday.

It depends on the material. I’m not going to make any claims on the business card promotion idea. Just like Christian protesters did not ask Ford how to boycott their products, I do not have to get permission to recommend a service. It will say “I want my QTV”, and have the URL to the request form. Also, I will only distribute the cards after a brief one-on-one interaction; I am looking to encourage a word of mouth trend. I am not going to leave these cards all over the place.
Beyond that, I am not even promoting Q as a business. I am instead promoting a way for the gay community to be heard, and fairly represented. Q is just happens to be the only channel that is owned, and operated by the same people they are trying to reach. I feel very confident that I can inspire many people to spread the word.
Working in the highly regulated pharmaceutical business, I know what would need approval, and what would not. Also, the way I’m doing this project, I am protected under the first amendment.

I am sure Frank would not be the first gay saint. Doesn't he have half the qualification already? A miracle before death and a miracle after death. I would say launching a gay cable channel is nothing short of a miracle.

I don't think we will ever see .0014 again. Feel free to try, but I for one don't think it will go that low, unless something really bad happens.
