I don't know a lot about hedge funds but do know people who manage them. My primary understanding of them, though, is that they invest in stocks that are low risk. I may be wrong, but isn't that their primary strategy?

So if we have some hedge funds buying into Q doesn't that make us feel more secure?

In short, this summarizes my understanding:

-->A hedge fund is a fund that can take both long and short positions, use arbitrage, buy and sell undervalued securities, trade options or bonds, and invest in almost any opportunity in any market where it foresees impressive gains at reduced risk. Hedge fund strategies vary enormously -- many hedge against downturns in the markets -- especially important today with volatility and anticipation of corrections in overheated stock markets. The primary aim of most hedge funds is to reduce volatility and risk while attempting to preserve capital and deliver positive returns under all market conditions.

Overall, they would be taking advantage of Q's low pps hedging that there is an upturn? I can't imagine they think we're overvalued ;-)

BB--I think I found that on Yahoo...lol...I initially thought that it would be beneficial to our pps, but reading from a variety of sites on line made me realize that a lot depends on who has the shares and what their goal is...all can effect the share value...but, hey, I'm a novice here...so take what I say lightly...trying more to learn about all of these endless investing options...

Thinking we'll see more green tomorrow because we're heading into a weekend. Monday could bring us incredible news, especially since with every passing day, we get closer to October 1st.

It depends on the hedgefund manager. There may be some hedgefunds that are low risk, but most exploit market conditions, especially violitility and engage in high risk trades. Thats why many of them play options. I would imagine that any hedgefund that would put money into a pink sheet stock is one of the high risk ones. If they were a low risk one, they would not touch any pink sheet stock. Hedgefunds are one of the most corrupt (not all of them) types of financial institutions. They constantly break rules and get away with it. Thats is also why a lot of hedgefunds are located at offshore banks and financial institutions. Because of the risky types of transactions that hedgefunds make, they usually have a higher rate of return or loss as compared to mutual funds and other types of funds.

Marco is the Capital Manager, so he is placing investors with Q. That could mean hedge funds, private investors, etc... His website http://www.magnum.com/hedgefunds/abouthedgefunds.asp states that.

He stated in one of his emails that he was giving us info that was public knowledge and would not divulge info that would constitute insider info.
lzguy posted it this morning:

Pat thanx for writing. Everything i said is legit, i am the banker but i cannot give you any nonpublic info, i will tell you that press is coming tomorrow and everyday after to support campaign. look for a 10mm restricted investment in QBID in next month

Marco also said his shares are restricted in one of his posts:
"in closing i just want to say that i am a 2.5% owner and a fund that I placed the deal with now owns 21%.. We are almost 25% of the comapny and we are all restricted and long. i cant sell for a yr and plan to near .05 (Now, this one appears to contradict his previous statement about holding for "maybe 6 months")".

I was worried as well until I read that. He seems careful and informed about what he is saying.

(Not trying to worry you Sunny, I'm just doing the "what if" thing) You are right with his discrepencies, I have noticed them too. If he does work for a hedgefund, I doubt his shares are restricted. If he is not part of a hedgefund, then his shares may be restricted, which is better for Q.

If that is the case, then it sounds good for Q. Looks like I read that post too quickly. I still think he is treading on insider info laws. He did say that Q is announcing a deal with Time Warner soon. That is not public knowledge. If he is for real, and for now it looks that way, that would be giving out insider info.

Dear XWhiz,

Hope the passing of a day has helped your situation.

As an older lady who's been around the block several times, here's a little unsoliciated advice.

We all want more attention.

HOWEVER. . . .

Whiz has never been anything but a true gentleman.

You know EXACTLY where he is and what he is doing.

By doing his DD and sharing with others he is hoping to secure a real financial windfall for himself and those he LOVES. Ideally it will mean more security for you and any future little Whizzes, Canine Whizzes, Feline Whizzes, etc.

So while you're justified in feeling in way you need to feel, please look at the big picture.

Kind regards,

Wow, it's been so nice to see names on the board that haven't been here in a while.

Pharm, I'm so glad all is well with you.

It does amaze me that Betting Babe came back and immediately thereafter so did Kencoda.

I think he's smitten.

Ok, I'm going back to lurk now, Bye Bye!

I guess its a good thing you didn't see the picture of him that used to be on the Q website. It was 10 times worse if you can imagine that. He looked like a 70's pimp.

kb, now you're starting to worry me!! He's not your typical IBM exec, is he? I took a $707 loss yesterday to get an additional 1mil shares because I thought the pps was about to jump. Shows my naivety. The stock I sold, per my # of shares went up $480 today. What a kick in the head. And we closed the same as yesterday. Over time, in your opinion, will I look back and laugh and not regret what I did? Or maybe better yet, I could have everyone send me $100 and I'd promise to sell and the Qbid stock would be gaurenteed to increase in value!!HA!!

I'm not sure, what stock did you sell? I am torn on QBID right now. As for now, I only occasionally daytrade it. Right now, I choose not to invest in Q. I won't get into reasons. Since I started posting regularly again, I said I was not going to say bad or good things about Q, just that I would react to the situation accordingly. So far, with the exception of a minor squabble with an old foe, that I proved wrong and is settled, I have just offered insight into what is happening now, but even when I was willing to bet the farm on Q back in the days, I was never fond of Frank, and I have spoken with him a few times. I will say that he does make himself available to investors who choose to call, but in his case, that may not be so good.

do you remember what bill gates looked like when they first went public? looks mean nothing in this market. just because you look a certain way does not mean you dont have what it takes to make somethign happen.
if that was the case some of us would never have gotten married as we are not all super models im sure.

I sold COVD after it fell from around $2.50 to $1.28, I rebought and my breakeven was $1.86. Sold yesterday at $1.62. It closed today with a $1.78 ASK. That's $480, so sad. Hey, there's obviously minimal people viewing now...what are your concerns regarding Qbid past obvious delays, etc.

Yeap. Just want to clear things up for newbies. If you think you need looks to be successful then you need to look around you.

Bob's Furniture is huge here in CT and the CEO is in commercials with ripped jeans and a t-shirt and looks like a kids from highschool that everyone teased.

I've spoken to Frank and he is the most sincere person who will take the time to explain things to you. He also has a business mind and a lot of motivation to achieve his goals.

I personally would love to see more pictures of him. It makes it feel real as opposed of not seeing faces when you have thousands of dollars invested in the company.

Sit back and enjoy the ride.

agreed

but unfortunatly we dont have any control over that. He has been his own worst enemy which is reflected in the pps, but however, I dont think that even Frank at this point could ruin this deal. the wheels are in motion, we are airing in San Fran, accordign to RCN the rest of the cities around the country are turned on in 10 days, we have 6 more prs coming out in the next 6 days.

I do however see a patern towards the .05 price tag yet again arising in yet another area. as being a top end price over the next 6 months. i do believe if we make it that high i will sell out and take my proffits then.

.05 seems to be a majical number

I seem to remember that there was a letter posted stating that Frank told someone that he felt that the stock was only worth .05
This Marco guy makes refference to selling when it hit .05
Dianna used to mention .05 alot
Daradog mentioned .05

could be a coincedence that they are all thinking .05, but it is something that i have observed on many occasions.

(p.s. Im not making any implications in any way that any of these people are related or tied together. just statign something that i noticed.)

EDIT = adding the PS after reading it i tought i should clearify

I don't really know much about that stock, sorry. Check out this thread...
http://www.allstocks.com/stockmessageboard/ubb/Forum8/HTML/007540.html

It is very informative and was put together very nicely. You can get most of the Q history there. I don't really want to start an argument that seems to repeat itself time and again over here. I'm sure after reading that thread, you will understand a lot of my concerns. Although not all of them are covered there, I'm sure you'll get most of it. I will say that although I am concerned with Q's outlook, don't take what U4TSAF2 says seriously. Much of what he says has truth behind it, but he likes to put his own spin on it. I would also direct you to what RobinO posts. He/She seems to present the similar concerns I have in a much better way than UTSAF2 does. RobinO has posted on this thread many times, so you won't have to go back too far to find it. Most of my posts about my concerns are from many threads ago and would probably take you a while to find. Come to your own conclusions and regardless to what you decide, always listen to both sides of what people on here post, especially to the people you disagree with. If you disagree with someones point of view on here, just know why you don't agree with them. Don't blindly believe one side or the other because its what you want to believe. Hope that helps, and I hope you understand me not wanting to start another war on here.

As Penny noted above, and very accurately so, Frank has been his own worse enemy. I will never disagree with anyone that the idea of Q is a good one, and right now is the right place and the right time.

Big this is the one and only time I have to semi disagree with you ..This man is in the MEDIA and Entertainment business. He should always look the part of a CEO in public...
I understand the casualness of the company but for press and public a nice fitting suit and tie would do a lot for his image and credibility..Now dont get me wrong I think the stock and the company is wonderful and i backed that up with many millions of shares.
But the old saying of "you only have one chance to make a first impression" should ring true to him...A little clean up on the Q aisle would not hurt us at all..
When I worked I never let a client or potential client dress or look better than me..This of course is my own opinon Big Please take no offense at this

Casico, Thank you. Appearing as if you crawled out of a dumpster is not optimum PR. I hope Frank is listening AND NOT taking this personally. But image is very important! What we speak IS preceded by how we look(the impression that we make).

Greetings Fellow Qbidians!!!! Today I sent an e-mail to the organizers of the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatic Championship coordinator to confirm that Q would be covering the event in FL on Oct 06-11 2004.

I received an e-mail from Alan Mgim (Event Director) who informed me that Q will be covering the events and is the exclusive media coverage of the events.

I am having some trouble posting a copy of my e-mail to him and the reply, but please rest assured I will get it done before this night is over. Most likely within the next hour, so please bear with me.

I think that this is great news!!!!

i dont see what marco has said is insider info...all he has really relayed is the fact that prs are coming out (pun not intended) as for hedgefund being good for us i cant see how too much corruption involed the last thing they care about is the health of the company thus small investors get hurt.....just a thoungt...ya think marco might have something to do with the prs not banking??? maybe tired of daytraders running up the pps a few cents each day to take profits about 2pm
