Hate to say it, as I'd like to buy more near a penny myself... we may be heading north more permanently come Monday morning.

Today's HOTLINE Message 05/21, in TEXT Format:

"Hi! Here's the Q Television Hotline Update for
Friday, May 21st.

(message put to text by member: base2971)

Frank Olsen, our CEO is back in the office and has
put together some preliminary contracts, which just
need the 'i's dotted and 't's crossed. We also need
FCC approval on a few of the things we want to do,
but on the whole everything is moving along and we are
extremely pleased with the progress being made.

(message put to text by member: base2971)

Q executive Rene Schenk has been busy in New York
and our corporate attorney is meeting him there to help
finalize some important agreements on the East Coast.
We have camera crews available to us now in every major
city in the United States. Our programming director is
working hard lining up programming and developing fresh
new ideas which we are very excited about.

Everything is coming together, and you'll hear more as
soon as we are able to release the information.

Thank you for your patience and your support.
Have a great weekend, and we'll talk to you on Monday

Knight Trading Group, Inc. Unit Is Censured, Fined By SEC-WSJ
July 18, 2002
The Wall Street Journal reported that the Securities and Exchange Commission censured and fined a unit of Knight Trading Group, Inc. $75,000 for violating a rule that requires that certain limit orders be displayed by market makers. The SEC found that between October 1997 and August 1999 "certain eligible limit orders were not promptly redisplayed, executed or re-routed in contravention of the limit order display rule." An SEC examination of all trading through Knight's Knight Securities' unit on the single trading day of May 5, 1999, revealed that Knight failed to redisplay promptly eligible limit orders 6,082 times.

Knight Trading Group, Inc. Faces Allegations That It Violated Rules-WSJ
June 03, 2002
The Wall Street Journal reported that the Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Association of Securities Dealers are investigating Knight Trading Group, Inc. following allegations from a former senior executive that the Company engaged in improper trading during the tech market's heyday. According to the Journal, the government inquiry stems from a sealed arbitration complaint filed late last year by Robert Stellato, the former head of Knight's institutional trading desk. In the complaint, filed with the NASD, Mr. Stellato alleges an elaborate system of trading-rule violations at the Company that cost investors millions of dollars.

Yeah, the Q rotates and the Welcome banner is animated. It has been like that since it first went on line. The only thing that is different is that they took out those annoying noises when you mouse over the link buttons.

Alright, NOW THIS IS NEWS! Film crews! Film Crews! FILM CREWS!!!!
Qbid! Qbid! Qbid! QBID-cats! Hoooooooooo!

Snarf Lionell!

Okay, I maybe just a kid, (twenty three) but since the age of eighteen I had the privledge of working with Fox Sports, CBS Sports as well as the X-Football games as a utility crew member, assiting camera operators. All Union work, (IBEW Local 1212 NYC). Having worked with these people I have a better understanding of what, how and why they do what they do, as far as filming is concerned.

This is important because:

1. EVERYONE HAS BEEN YELLING ABOUT MATERIAL. Well here is how are Q-Television will acquire all this raw footage. They will make it themselves! Imagine, now we will have the RIGHTS to these videos. Here is how we will get our 'Gay News', from all over the country, with film crews sending in more and more footage, of events, demonstrations, news, clubs, gay events, politicians, etc. Q-Television can now build a library of 'B-roll' for the news events. They can make documentaries with the footage being shot, turn it into news stories. Make movies with it, etc.

2. These film crews will also be able to spread the word about Q-Television by being made public at events. How many people like being in front of a Network Camera?!?!

This equals instant publicity. People will see the camera and hopfully they will act as PR people and give out Q-TV stuff, stickers, flyiers, website listing, etc.

3. This is a step to proving we are more:

1. Serious.
2. Professional.

Yeah, with the cameras in all the big cities, they could do more documentaries about being gay, the obstacles of gay marriage, and all that. Assuming they have a crew in Massachusetts, they could do a part 2 of their first documentary about gay marriage or a different one altogether. The most recent story is about a married lesbian who is suing a clinic "because doctors failed to detect breast cancer in her spouse". Here's the link: http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/05/22/gaymarriage.lawsuit.ap/index.html

This could be the beginning of a new law show about gay people gaining the right to do this kind of thing now that they can have legal spouses. The ideas are endless and very obvious. However, the people at q-televsion need to do all the leg work to make it happen and I have the utmost confidence that they will.
GO QBID!

A national news camera network could also allow for live coverage of events otherwise ignored by the news media because they aren't mainstream. Gay Pride parade coverage in every city while it is happening, the InterPride celebration (it's World Pride and expected to be held in 2005 http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=35203 ), the Gay Games ( http://www.gaygames.com/en/ ), Aids walks.. all the daily & breaking news that is of interest in the community. It's GNN instead of CNN ;-)

Here is a link to the Gay & Lesbian International News Network. Notice the link for Q: http://www.glinn.com/news/rtv1.htm

Dunno... I think that's more of a fluff comment than something to get excited about. Anyone with a few thousand bucks to spend has access to camera crews anywhere in the country. The ENG/EFP (electronic news gathering/electronic field production) industry is almost entirely made up of freelancers and broadcast union members who are on call to anyone who needs them. I used to be one of those guys...

No one, including the big networks, needs to keep any camera crews on the payroll around the country. If they need someone to cover a story, they'll just get a crew from some local contacts or a union, tell them where to go, and then have a satellite uplink van meet them. They might have a local correspondent if the story requires a body on camera, but for the most part, the camera man and sound guy are all freelancers.

So yeah, they do have access to camera crews in every major city... but no, it's not a big development IMHO.
