The average age of gamers is 29 years old. In 1990 the average age of video game players was 18; now it is 29. Overall, 2003 U.S. sales of console games totaled $5.8 billion (186.4 million units) while computer games accounted for $1.2 billion (52.8 million units) in sales. This is a 7 billion dollar market. We gamers are tired of buying at $50 a pop and then beating the game to never play it again. This market is not tapped into. The Hollywood Video by my house rents out 300 games a month!! Think of all the blockbusters and hollywoods that do this. Blockbuster video has over 8500 locations alone. This past year over one million consoles were sold. With the combination of DVD's and Video games we get both markets. This data can be backed up at this site for all want to see about the video game market. http://home.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/index.jsp?ndmVi ewId=news_view&newsId=20040126005584&newsLang=en And check out blockbuster.com

I must agree with your post. My Son-in-law is 23 and a new father. His time of relaxation is now spent in front of his Playstation after the baby goes to sleep. This is a inexpensive way for him and his buddies to spend some time together doing "GUY STUFF". His buddies do come over to play and I must say....When I told him about this, he became so excited. He is now telling everyone about it.
I do agree that teenagers do enjoy them as well but, coming from a person that has adult children, teenagers and a new baby as well, I will tell you that my teenagers do play their video games but, are more interested in going out into the world more and trying to experience more outside of the house than in. All good of course (OH Lord I hope).

Yes Ranger, KFI AM 640, maybe around one or two this afternoon. I really wan't able to catch all of it because of power tools and such. Nonetheless, I am sure the talk show host was addressing this company during his talk with a phone caller.

All I can do is relate what I heard, which is phonetically spelled,
Games N Flicks.
His mention of "stock skyrocketing" does seem to peg this stock as the one.
I am pretty sure that radio talk host was talking about this company. If he doesn't have his facts quite straight, this would be consistent with "off-the-cuff" remarks.
Personally, even if he is a little screwy on this, personally I think it is very positive to have this company mentioned on radio, even if just casual mention.
Purl Gurl
How about this NET FLICKS. I think that maybe you don't quite have the facts straight. According to the show notes he(Laporte/host) spoke of Netflix today. When I think of a "skyrocketing" stock related to DVDs, I would think of Netflix. - Marty

Sorry Purl Girl....but I have seen some of your previous posts before also and I have to agree with Tommy on the basher point...
You are much smarter than you are pretending not to be here...you know how to do DD, and you would certainly know the difference between NetFlix and PGHI (GamezNflix)...
If anyone would like to question intentions here check Purl Girl on the RB board....
Not that it has any bearing on the future of this stock at all....as Marty and others have pointed out DVD piracy may very well be a real concern, but it does not appear to be hurting NetFlix and from what I can tell doesn't seem to be hurting any number of merchants either.

I actually agree with this too. I am 27 and still play video games 3-4 days a week. I also know MANY of my friends who do too, ages probably ranging from 23-32. I think it is something our generation of people grew up doing and will continue to do. Even now, when I have get togethers with all my college buddies, we will inevitably have video game tourneys.
Funny thing too- Recently I have been talking to my mom about this stock. She actually likes the idea, enough to buy a few shares herself. And she is one of the most conservative people I have ever met.

Look it people, the reason I am so adamant about the accuracy of this radio show post, is for the pure fact this could be a huge kick in the pants for PGHI.
But after further review I believe the poster(Purl Gurl) is wrong with the notion the host was referring to GamezNflix, rather it was Netflix Leo Laporte(host) was referring to in his radio show today. - Marty
You see why this company will be successful? Because shareholders are customers and customers will become shareholders. We almost all play games here and we love the service, so why not invest in the company?
Warren Buffet said "invest in things that you like because chances are others will like it too!"
We're not pumping this stock, we don't need to pump it!
quote:Originally posted by Purl Gurl: Game rentals, I don't think would fit well into either of those two groups. Game rentals would appeal to a younger audience, perhaps predominantly teenagers spending parent's money. Perhaps a good market there but a limited market. College students and those bound for college, I don't think would be in this market for game rentals.
Purl Gurl
..are you serious?? LOL You should make it a point to visit a college campus and survey the students about VG playing....you might think differently afterwards!
Video games are not only for pre-teens. There is a whole new group of gameplayers out there. What you are not realizing is that the 20-30 year olds who grew playing Atari and Nintendo, have not given up on video games. They are now playng Xbox and PS2. Playing video games is not conceived as childish like it was 5 years ago . I am now 28 and just sold my PS2 and bought Xbox.(with a veegeez membership) Although I dont play is as much as I did when I was younger, it is still part of my life, just as TV is. I will continue to buy games and upgrade as new systems are made. I have several friends 32-35 years old who have and play video games...... the game industry will continue to grow!

"Maybe this new acquisition will prove to be a profitable company. I have yet to be convinced of a bottom line net profit, but I do now have a spark of interest.
....by the time you see the net profit, this stock will have alredy made a huge run. Good luck waiting!
I am concerned this is the only thing PGHI has done right during its business history."
..well, the only thing that Netflix has done right during its business history is rent DVD's online, and grab 1.5 million subscribers. Looks like they have a winning business plan, why would it not work for Gameznflix? There are some negatives to be reconciled.
....such as???? oh yeah, I forgot that you want to wait for the nubers to be perfect so you can jump in when this stock is up a couple dollars!

Hey, one of the things that separates this board from all the countless others out there is that everyone here, for the most part, treats each other with respect, even if they have a different opinion. Let's not lose that.
As others have said, I'd much rather hear a contrary opinion than just a series of empty platitudes and head-noddings. I disagree with most of Purl's analysis on this particular stock, but its always good to hear other opinions. Keep 'em coming.

Stockguy - Let's look at some things. Tommy called out Magoo..hmm he was right! Called out Purl Gurl and she was bashing. Look at earlier threads she call this company PGHI a "paper company" If that is not bashing then I dont know what is. If she is going to post something make it valid! I value others comments but come on now call a spade a spade! Stockguy I understand what you are saying we have a great board going and I dont want it to start into an all bashing board.

Hey guys, looks like Purl Gurl has accomplished what she set out to do ? antagonized some posters here and got them to argue with each other. This diverts attention away from intelligent discussion about our stock. She does this by posting questionable info and baiting people into arguments and then leaves the board. Look at some of her previous posts on RB and Allstocks!
Lets stay focused on PGHI ? both positive and negative comments about the stock should be welcomed, but don?t let outsiders manipulate the board.

I sure wish Mach, Mav and Uncle Milty would come to the rescue!! I have truly loved this board for quite a few months, well actually since the PGHI posts started. I couldn't wait to get home from work just to be able to sit down and read, read, read. I have grown to respect sooo many people on here, there words, thoughts, etc. So to speak, like the energizer bunny, then run into a brick wall. So discouraging and really not needed on here. "Burst the bubble" sort of thing. Just my opinion, and hope I have others who agree with me. Let's keep our heads up and not let the pessimists downgrade what we have all seen and heard ourselves. WE WILL BE THE ONES LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK WITH THE DOOR BEING HELD OPEN FOR US!! (This is Degs wife)
