AUSTIN, Jul 21, 2006 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- A very interesting indicator to look for is where the money is flowing into. We have a filter that we watch every morning that shows us "Dollar Volume". Here are a few of these stocks: (FRPT), (SELA), (EMFP), (PTSC)
What is a STOCKUMENTARY? Visit the following link to find out: http://www.********* . com/cdrom/lyjn/streaming .
(FRPT) For the three months ended 31 March 2006, Force Protection, Inc.'s revenues totaled $34.8M, up from $5.9M. Net loss fell 83% to $666K. Revenues reflect increased level of vehicle production primarily the result of JERRV contract and increased revenue from the sale of spare parts. Lower loss reflects improved gross margin due to the increasing efficiency of the manufacturing operations and the company's cost efficiency.

What does the below mean for individual investors? Jo --------------------------------------------
IN THE NEWS
Force Protection, Inc. Announces $41 Million Equity Financing Publisher: Force Protection, Inc. Date: 07/24/2006
Ladson, S.C. - Force Protection, Inc. (OTCBB:FRPT), manufacturer of the Buffalo and Cougar armored vehicles deployed with U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, today announced it has closed on a private placement of 8.25 million shares of common stock, generating gross proceeds of $41.25 million.
The securities were sold to a select group of institutional investors, including John Hancock, at $5.00 per share with no warrants. C.E. Unterberg, Towbin acted as Force Protection's exclusive placement agent.
“We are extremely pleased to make this announcement,” said Force Protection CEO Gordon McGilton, who noted that this round of financing would help the company expand its production capabilities to meet expected demand. “The working capital generated by this financing will allow us to maintain focus on delivering armored vehicle technology to support U.S. and Coalition troops in Iraq.
“We appreciate the investors who have participated in this financing. Their efforts will help ensure that more lives are saved by the cutting-edge blast protection technology incorporated in the Buffalo and Cougar vehicles.”

I think you are right in the long term, however, in the short term, FRPT could react similarly to how Jones Soda (JSDA) has when it completed a private placement about a month ago.
I'm in Jones soda, and if you look on Google Finance, http://finance.google.com/finance?q=jsda , and expand the view to 3 months, you can see the news event "I" (dtd 6/2/2006) where they announced their private placement of stock at $9.50 per share.
At the time JSDA was trading at 10.61 per share. The price dropped a bit that day, then zig zagged up and down a bit but gradually dropped to 7.70 before a series of news events began to bring the share price back up to the level it is now. Still not at 9.50 though.
I know comparing sodas to military vehicles is like apples to oranges. FRPT, I think, will have much stronger news than JSDA, and these institutional buyers wouldn't be putting out all this money for nothing. But, it is entirely possible that there will be a dip in the short term. So look for a good buy in price.

LONDON, July 24 (Reuters) - Britain said on Monday it would buy 270 more armoured vehicles for its troops in Afghanistan and Iraq after criticism that soldiers were being needlessly killed by roadside bombs.
Relatives of servicemen killed in Iraq and the opposition Conservatives have called on the government to do more to safeguard the lives of servicemen in Afghanistan and Iraq, who are exposed to the daily threat of attack from insurgents.
Roger Bacon, whose army officer son was killed when a roadside bomb exploded near his Land Rover in September last year, campaigned for troops to get armoured vehicles.
The British Ministry of Defence said it would buy about 100 more Pinzgauer 'Vector' armoured trucks for Afghanistan, on top of the 66 already on order.
It would buy 70 more heavily armoured FV430 troop carriers, in addition to 54 already on order, for British forces in Iraq.
The ministry also announced plans to buy about 100 mine-protected "Cougar" vehicles, to equip British forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Some of the new vehicles will start arriving this year and others in 2007.
"The protection of our forces is a top priority. I have made clear my determination to provide commanders on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan with the resources they need to do the job," Defence Secretary Des Browne said.
A Defence Ministry spokesman could not say how much the order was worth because contract negotiations with suppliers have not yet been wrapped up.
Some 114 British soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003.
Britain said earlier this month it would send 900 more troops to southern Afghanistan to fight the resurgent Taliban after at least five British soldiers were killed in the initial phases of what was billed as a peacekeeping mission there.

And the news about the British buying 100 add'l cougars hasn't yet been posted on the major newswires. That is similar to what happenned at the beginning of this thread. The news about the 50M contract was posted only on FRPT's website and then when it got to BusinessWire, it exploded.
Hold tight!

I'm annoyed with myself that I kind of called the short-term dip in prices, yet, I did not take full advantage of it. I did flip half my shares at $6.90, but I did not wait long enough to rebuy them. I rebought at $6.60, but could've waited to get them in the $6.20 range. Why didn't I listen to my own speculation???
Well, I guess it won't much matter when this is a $15+ stock!

True Jo, But I have been holding this all along. I only add on dips, and I added more at 6.18!! I shall take some profits off when financials are released on this stock, which shouldnt be more than 1-2 weeks from now. once they are announced, this is a definite $10 stock, and that should be time to take some small profits, as other good plays like SLJB are looking promising! GLTY!
