Why flip? Look at the chart. Just hold and forget. Wake up in Dec. double from here. You're incurring taxes as you go along... if you hold long enough, you may get a break.

I AM going to try and hold my original shares until the short term capital gains time frame kicks in, but I don't think I will be able to hold the "trading shares" that long. Too nervewracking for me.

I'm working the rest of the week, so I won't be tempted to sell.

THE stock of 2006. 900% gain from Jan. I thought CHYS was the stock of 2006, but it has lost 50% of its value off its high.

This is the real deal, and will make me semi-rich.

Force Protection, Inc. Appoints Independent Director
Friday September 22, 8:30 am ET

LADSON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2006--Armored vehicle manufacturer Force Protection, Inc. (OTCBB:FRPT - News) announced today that Michael Moody has been appointed an independent member of the Board of Directors by unanimous board vote. Moody will fill the vacancy left by departing director Gale Aguilar.

"Force Protection is greatly benefited in having Michael join the board," said Chairman Frank Kavanaugh. "He brings a wealth of financial experience to this position, and will play a key role in the continuing development of Force Protection as a publicly-traded company. Michael's appointment is another step in the process of reconfiguring the board to achieve a majority of independent directors; a process we hope to conclude very shortly."

A veteran with more than four decades' experience in financial analysis, auditing, and regulatory reporting, Moody currently serves as a principal for Westsource Financial Services, Inc., providing financial and business advisory services to privately held businesses. Moody previously served as Chief Operating Officer for the London American General Agency and as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Magna Carta Companies. He also served as a member of the Magna Carta board of directors with particular oversight and review of financial reporting. Moody is a CPA and an associate with the Australian Society of Accountants, and holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

Force Protection's Buffalo route clearance and Cougar urban fighting vehicles have kept troops safe in the face of more than 1,000 mine detonations and IED attacks since 2003. More than 200 of these mine-armored vehicles have been delivered to the U.S. government.

Someone is eating up shares right under $9.... massive daily accumulation. The daytraders exit daily, and someone scoops them up. When news hits, daytraders will chase, easy over $10 in 1 day... when the next contract hits.

Ok, because I believe in full disclosure, I am letting everyone know I sold 1/2 my position today to lock in profits. Why? 3 insiders have sold shares over the past 3 days.... now, long term this stock has potential, and I still say $15 by EOY, but I think now it may retrace into the $7's, and I'll buy back then.

First bad sign on this stock in a while, and I have to keep to my rules (never fall in love with a stock).

This one is making that "fall in love with a stock" rule tough i imagine. I cant even remember how it got on my watch list but i remember it being $5 something and before i knew it its peakin 9 bucks.

With all the craziness in the middle east right now i couldnt argue with that $15. Could be a gem huh. Chart makes me timid though, maybe i need to read more.

It dropped today because of a bad "report" from some stock site... probably manipulated by shorts, as short interest has risen 200% in the last month... one PR and they fry.

I was wondering what the heck happenned. I know there was some insider selling, but surely folks know that the CEO wouldn't sell on upcoming bad news, lest he suffer a "Martha Stewart" type scenario.

Still holding now... and you're right. No way the CEO, CFO and another insider would sell all around the same time right before bad news. That would = Enron.

So either these were planned sells, or they need that money for some other business venture.

I doubht we will stay below $8 (may trade below, but that's it). And, we have shorties all over the place. One blockbuster PR and this goes to $10 on the covering.

FRPT: Force Protection: Firm's Top Pick; focus on defense budget conference, passage should bring flow of orders - CE Unterberg (7.91)
[Update]
CE Unterberg says with the recent pullback in the shares, as well as a
promising (though still pending) FY07 Defense appropriations bill, they are highlighting FRPT as their top pick. Firm believes the stock's recent weakness reflects investor concern over insider selling, and is overdone. Firm believes the selling is primarily from 10b5-1 plans and were set in motion months ago and do not reflect an opinion of upcoming business. Firm believes focus should instead be placed on the defense budget conference report, which includes substantial funding for the Joint IED Defeat Fund and FRPT's Cougar variants.

Firm believes the bill is close to final passage in the Senate and that orders should begin flowing in shortly after the new government fiscal year begins. Firm believes the current stock price is a compelling buying point. Firm reiterates their Buy recommendation and $11 tgt.

Force Protection Extends Agreement with South African Technology Partner
Friday September 29, 9:00 am ET

LADSON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Force Protection, Inc. (OTCBB:FRPT - News) today announced that it has reached an agreement with MECHEM, a division of DENEL (Pty) Ltd of South Africa, to extend the term of their relationship for an additional five years effective September 13, 2006.

Under the agreement, MECHEM, an organization that specializes in the supply of landmine detection, de-mining, and unexploded ordnance disposal equipment and services, will continue to work exclusively with Force Protection on all projects relating to the exploitation of its technology.

"We are extremely pleased to continue this important relationship," said Force Protection CEO Gordon McGilton. "As a world leader in the field of humanitarian de-mining, MECHEM has unequaled knowledge and expertise in the detection, removal and defeat of all types of explosive devices. They will be an invaluable resource to Force Protection's expanding R&D initiatives."

Force Protection manufactures the Cougar and Buffalo mine-protected vehicles that have been deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003. Despite thousands of mine detonations and IED attacks, no fatalities have occurred in a Force Protection vehicle.

About MECHEM

MECHEM, a division of DENEL (Pty) Ltd (South Africa), specializes in the supply of landmine detection, de-mining and unexploded ordnance disposal equipment, services and consulting. It was established in the late 1960's, originally as a research unit of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa, culminating into a division of DENEL (South Africa). MECHEM has been involved in the research and development of anti-landmine technology for the past 30 years.

Safe truck, explosive business
Force Protection manufactures trucks that can protect its passengers from a landmine blast.
By Maggie Overfelt, FSB writer-reporter
October 2 2006: 10:57 AM EDT

(FSB Magazine) -- The UN estimates that more than 110 million active landmines lurk beneath roads and fields around the world, and for every mine cleared, 20 are planted. That's a growing market for Force Protection (Charts), a Ladson, S.C., manufacturer of armored vehicles.

Unlike its competitors, Force Protection fits its trucks - such as the Buffalo, pictured - with V-shaped hulls, which deflect the energy blasted from mines up into the sides of the chassis instead of directly at it.

"Soldiers have a much better chance of coming back alive in our vehicles vs. anything else," says vice president Michael Aldrich. In the three years since the trucks were launched, no fatalities have been reported in any Force Protection truck.

Britain, Israel and South Africa have inquired about using the company's trucks, but Force Protection's recent revenue spike - from $6 million in 2003 to more than $200 million so far this year - comes from U.S. government contracts.

About 200 trucks have been shipped to Iraq, and in May, Force Protection won a $445 million multiyear contract from the Pentagon to build 1,000 trucks for the Iraqi army. The first Cougars, four-by-four trucks that fit ten soldiers and can hit speeds of up to 75 mph, were shipped in July.

Force Protection, Inc. Breaks Production Records in September
Monday October 2, 12:10 pm ET

LADSON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Armored vehicle manufacturer Force Protection, Inc. (OTCBB:FRPT - News) exceeded production records in September as it delivered more than 30 of its Buffalo, Cougar Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal Rapid Response (JERRV), and Iraqi Light Armored (ILAV) vehicles to the U.S. government.

"In addition to our September vehicle deliveries, we have also verified the successful integration of improved materials such as domestic steel for the JERRV and Buffalo vehicles," said Vice President for Program Management Damon Walsh. "The effect of this testing is to increase the availability of raw materials for vehicle production, which in turn enhances our ability to increase production to meet customer demand."

Force Protection vehicles have been deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003 without a fatality to a passenger. This unmatched record of success has led to major contract awards from U.S. and Coalition governments who recognize the vital role of the vehicles for their armed forces.

"Force Protection continues to experience the fruits of its efforts to ramp up production of these life-saving vehicles," said CEO Gordon McGilton. "We are currently ahead of schedule in deliveries of the Cougar JERRV and are on track with our Buffalo and ILAV programs. We are fulfilling our commitment to get the highest levels of protection available to the field as quickly as possible."

Jo!! Here is what you need to know in terms of the Hummer contracts... we should hear news about NASDAQ listing by end of Oct.

Here's the proposed schedule -

The notional draft schedule for the competitive Category I and II vehicle acquisition is as follows:
RFP release Oct 06
Receipt of proposals Nov 06
Award of IDIQ contract(s) Nov/Dec 06 (if FRPT is chosen, as it will be as a testee, this will push us over $10)
Deliver of Vehicles for Test Jan/Feb 07
Government Testing Feb/Mar 07
Award IDIQ orders for remaining vehicles, Mar 07 (if they get this, can you say $30??)
