Don't believe I've seen this kind of action immediately following an event that wasn't a disaster. Media is picking this story today but I'd hate to think what new stock holders will think looking at today.

Correct me if I am wrong...but isn't it true that MM's and the like tend to get advance notice of upcoming PR's? Is that true....or just a myth? Because today almost seems like someone or someone's were accumilating shares on a huge level. We were less than 1 million shy of out alltime volume high. Any thoughts?

the MM's are not supposed to get news before anybody else... however, there is a lot of stuff going on all over that's not "supposed to be"...
nobody made anybody sell or buy here...
i was looking thru the trades and noticed that a 1,405,000 share trade @ .2452$ went thru at 9:58:39 on a down tick...probably an MM buy.....
i was watching the way the MM's kept dropping back without buying shares, and that started before the market opened.... this could simply be that people were lowering their limit sell prices, BUT, the trades were just not that big...
disappointed...not mad...

Thanx for the response glass...though I am still very puzzled as to what happened with the official PR that was to be released today. Maybe they decided to wait for the dust to settle? Will they release it after hours or in AM? What would the benefits be of waiting? Just asking for opinions on this issue...

Glass, I have a question. The MMs are the buyers on the level II chart, right? Is it unusual for a MM to have a symbol but no business name or profile?

Yes, I know the symbols represent a company. Here's the deal. I'm with Choicetrade. I got a list of all the companies that bought GTEL today. I tried to research them by plugging in the symbol for a detailed quote. This is what I got:
SCHB: Schreiner Bancsh - no profile no news GNLN: Greenline Business - no profile, no news TDCM: PreCell Solutions - no profile, no news BGTN: Barrington Cap - no profile, no news - 52 wk hi -8.48, 52 wk lo - 8.48, closing - 8.48 ???
Then I thought it got real weird

ouch ... it was a bloodbath out there. Me? I had 38k with averaged price at 29, sold at the bell at 271, bought 40k on an uptick at .255, then left for work ... and I come back to this? I think this will settle out and go back up. I believe the idea is good, but they have to work on management. Besides ... don't y'all think that the "Stored Value" cards will make this company billions? As for Phrogger's analysis -- I think that was the clearest out there. Good job!

This isn't Melon , or Cmkx ( whatever that joke is ) , or Prrm , or Gawd , or Zanc , this seems to be the real thing , who cares if some whining wussies didn't get their expectations met , what did they expect , a fully functioning strattellite , fully constructed , ready to take off right then and there ?
As someone else has mentioned , they can't show every little detail , especially with all the cameras about , as this is supposedly cutting edge tech that could easily be stolen or copied . When the thing is actually ready to fly , then everyone can see it , and even then i'm sure access will be restricted to a certain degree .
The guy said he would show something , and he did , thats way more than i can say for 99 percent of the pennies that are just some guy and his girlfriend , living in their parent's basement , selling shares . This doesn't appear to be some scam dilution king operation with no revenue , and to echo someone's sentiments , read the sec filings , they are making money on other ventures , but i knew this strat thing was go or bust , most peopkle only care about that aspect of this company , and only that aspect , they got shaken out so easily today , on innuendo , bashing , and paranoia .
Oh man , it wasn't what i thought it would be , who is actually satying that , some anonymous pinhead living with his mother . The disappointment rumors are just that , has anyone actually gone on record to say they were disappointed , someone that was actually there , or is this all concocted .

Some peep were prob paranoid they missed the boat , or is that airship , now there is glee again for the shorters and bashers . But once it gains some momentum again , they will quickly dissapear , and i'm confident this is an anomaly , i already said before it will dip , every stock does . Play it , hold it , swing it , sell it , do whatever , but don't believe this nonsense that the conference or unveiling was a disappointed , and Gtel is getting mainstream coverage finally , not some pumping paltalk nonsense , they are on to something .
If they were really trying to sucker people , i doubt they would have even had an unveiling . They could have just made a bunch of empty promises like melonhead did , and kept on diluting shares .
I think today is all about expectations , people expected something more .
I'm not falling for this nonsense , i already swung it a couple of times , so it's no big deal what happened today , these things are inherently volatile , even the big board stocks can tank something fierce .
But i'll never say anything is a sure thing , never again at least , if you are interested in Gtel as a play or whatever , do your thing and don't worry about it too much . Don't get all bonkers when it goes up , and don't start crying when it goes down , man some of these people can be downright manic at times , it's scary .
And , i'd like to see what the ratio of buys to sells was for the day , i saw some big transactions at the ask in the last hour , and one whopper to end the day above it . What does it mean , i don't know , maybe it's not as bad as it seems , people can become so melodramatic . Relax , make your decison about what to do , and see what happens tmorrow .

the MM's are there to provide a service. sometimes we don't like what they do, but the price wouldn't have gone down if people weren't freaking out...that's nobodies fault but THEIR OWN......
how do you value a company like this? YOU CAN'T...period...

Whom exactly are you talking to?? NO ONE on this board is bashing GTEL as far as I can see. NO ONE on this board expected the thing to fly off yesterday as far as I can tell.
Jesus, can't holders post reasonable reactions/opinions without being polarized as bashers if they aren't saying "go GTEL, GO GO GO, 40 cents, AMEX, millionaires, $5 by August"???
I just don't get it. The stock price took a big dump today. That is the market talking. I don't have to tell you the press event was dissapointing. Closing at -27% says it much better. You think *I* want this stock to go down right after I loaded up on another 8k at .25?
No matter how many times people say the press event wasn't dissapointing, the market isn't going to listen and say, "you're right, what was I thinking", and gap back up above .30 tomorrow.
The trading day is done. The market has spoken. Get mad at the market or your cat or someone else, but don't start griping at the holders on this board just because we're dissapointed at the press event. In fact, you should complain to GTEL if anyone.
On the whole that story was very positive... as were most... I read today.
I think a bunch of us are just shaking our heads as to what happened today. The public (investors) really wanted to see Sanswire One floating tethered above their heads. When they didn't they all got bored drop their interests (in both mind and stock). I mean who has time to wait around for a mid summer test flight in this minute microwave single serving meal culture.
I am a new guy but, I Think it was just one of those days for the market. I bought UNQT (only my 2nd purchase ever) this AM as I was convinced it was a good buy. RSI was at 45... blah blah blah.. Well she closed down 28% Just a bad day over all I think, tomorrow is another day.
I am not a day trader though, month trader probably better describes me. I am going Long on GTEL though, like 2007-2008 Long. I'll keep what I've got and add more where I can.
GTEL's got something I think. It's just not going to happen as quickly our instant gratification soceity would like. The dog will hunt, S1 will fly, the population will be enamored with it, and we will all be better off because we enjoyed the ride.

Hey ... lets not forget the STORED VALUE CARDS. Its a gold mine, I'm telling you. ... and think if those cards have wafer-thin solar cells on them. It could be the solution we're all looking for to the world's energy demands and is distinctly NOT dependant on oil (other than the fact that the card is plastic, which is a petroleum product ... but that's splitting hairs). If the strattolite was flying right now, I could have had access to my Ameritrade account while I was stuck in traffic. Maybe the red dripping from my portfolio wouldn't have been so bad.
