It is my understanding that the "temp" has nothing to do with the "preserving" of the wood...and these "hardwoods" that are pulled...such as Teak wood, redwood, mahogany rosewood and the like...when "pulled to the bottom of the rivers are covered in the "silt" that act actually like a "preservative"...No oxygen...to start the decomposing and rotting... they get pulled up and the wood is over 200 years old and beautiful!

Purl, thanks for the leeches story. Now, whenever I see pictures of your naked butt I will not be able to help but picture cigarettes shoved up there.....just wonderful.

Again, the world bank credit for recovery is more valuable than the wood..does not matter what the wood is used for, sold for, burned for etc...world bank is very powerful and provides credit for lots of projects around the globe..

Like I posted earlier, we have tree's in rivers and lakes around here that are hundreds of feet deep, and in some cases thousands of years old...Some are still standing straight up in lakes that are very deep..Seen um up close... In a clear lake dive without scuba gear, you will be fooled by how deep even the shallow ones really are, spectacular when the Lake is crystal clear.
