I did state yesterday that I would see what the market does and then react accordingly.....I was going off information that I was being fed on this by others......I thought it was gonna rise.....but nothing in the markets is a guarantee, so back off your sorness.......if you haven't learned to go with the market, you will be left a bag holder.......adjustments and changed are inevitable

ex date is the first day the stock trades WITHOUT dividend....thus the name EX-DIVIDEND DATE...
The only way to get the dividend is to own the stock at this very moment. Go check the SEC website
Straight from the SEC website:
"Once the company sets the record date, the stock exchanges or the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. fix the ex-dividend date. The ex-dividend date is normally set for stocks two business days before the record date. If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the next dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. If you purchase before the ex-dividend date, you get the dividend." http://www.sec.gov/answers/dividen.htm
I called etrade and they said the pay date is the 31st incase anyone was wondering when they should get their shares.

Well if you dont know what you are talking about you shouldn't post it. It misleads people.
Plain and simple, the fact is if you don't own PAIM right now you are not getting anything.
What will tomorrow bring? Well I am guessing everyone is gonna sell their shares because the divvy is overwith. But then again I thought today would have exploded and I was wrong on that.
Just sounds like the pumpers are out in full force now because of the huge let down.

Yes you can sell tomorrow. The only requirement is that you owned the stock when it closed today.
Tomorrow is the ex dividend date, meaning it trades WITHOUT dividend status.
"If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the next dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. If you purchase before the ex-dividend date, you get the dividend."
You would be the seller mentioned in the second sentence.

Are you guys retarded? Perhaps you need to take investing 101 at your local community college. The record date matters for 1. accounting purposes and 2. it tells the NASD when they need to set the ex date. The ex date is 2 days before the record date. the ex date is the day you need to own the stock by. If you buy the stock today and hold to the 17th you are not getting chit.
The SEC is the governing body of all securities that are traded in the united states. Their interpretation of the law is final. Their website is not wrong.
