i think the revenue stream from QBID could have been a lot in the past months.... maybe they are buying back.

This is a quote from VWKM. It's in a boardcasting business.

"There are 210 distinct TV markets in the U.S.," said Mark Astrom, New Screen TV's President, "and we anticipate potential revenues of between $250,000 -- $500,000 monthly in each of the top 100 markets." Astrom added, "Even in markets #101 - #210, we should be able to realize revenues in the $50,000 -- $100,000 monthly zone."

Maybe QBID has been in many of those top 100 markets and have been making money .. enough to buyback stocks?

Haha, I just thought the person presented his argument in a just way and decided to share it with everyone. He even presented an example and gave specific details.

And, I've met that Minister... We play golf on Sundays...

Richard e-mailed me a couple days ago and said he was out of town until Sunday, that he'd call me when he got back.

I hope he's out in Burbank mapping a plan out with Olsen. I know he's negotiating some conditions for a temporary move out there and I hope they're going well. Rich is pushing to get the audit out, put the company in a new shell and get fully-reporting. Olsen has probably put himself in such legal jeopardy with his big mouth that he can't release the audit now.

Anyway, when we talk he'll hopefully have some news about a CC between he, Frank and I. I'll let everyone know.

'Brokeback Mountain's' Oscars lead ushers in Hollywood's 'year of the queer' Thu Jan 19, 3:32 AM ET
Well..2006 will be a good year for Q start growing

LOS ANGELES (AFP) - With the cowboy romance "Brokeback Mountain" leading a posse of gay-themed movies in the Oscars race, Hollywood is ushering in the "year of the queer," activists and film experts say.

Six awards went to movies with gay or transgender characters at Monday's Golden Globe Awards with Ang Lee's "Brokeback" roping in four, making it the firm favourite for Tinseltown's top honours, the Oscars, nominations for which will be unveiled in less than two weeks.

"It's emerging as the year of the queer in Hollywood," said Larry Gross, a professor at the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California and an author on gay issues.

"Brokeback" won four Globes, including best drama, best director and best screenplay, Felicity Huffman won the best dramatic actress award for playing a man about to undergo a sex change in "Transamerica," and Philip Seymour Hoffman won the best dramatic award for his portrayal of gay US author Truman Capote in the biopic "Capote," making him an Oscars favourite.

Awards pundits said "Brokeback" is now in pole position to rein in awards that could include best picture, best director and best actor for star Heath Ledger, while gay groups and academics say they hope the homosexual content this awards season could mean that gay is in Hollywood to stay.

"Between Hoffman and Huffman and 'Brokeback Mountain,' there certainly does seem to be a gay trend in this year's awards season, at least on the face of it," Gross told AFP.

Gay groups applauded the recognition and the spotlight it threw on the homosexual community, which has long complained of being sorely underrepresented in Hollywood, which has always been skittish about depicting gay sexuality, although the taboo is slowly fading.

"I think what is finally happening is that we are seeing films being made that more accurately portray our diverse society. Hollywood is finally catching up," said Jim Key, spokesman for the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center.

The influential Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) also hailed the commercial and awards success of movies driven by gay or gender conflicted characters, saying they could help change society's views too.

"These are the kinds of films that can really open hearts and minds," said GLAAD president Neil Giuliano, adding that the movies -- all relatively low budget independent-type films -- help raise the visibility of gays and gay issues in America.

"By telling our stories, these films give audiences a broad understanding of who we are -- and these are films that have an emotional authenticity that connects with both gay and straight audiences alike."

The rash of gay-themed films comes 12 years after Tom Hanks' turn as a gay AIDS victim in "Philadelphia" and after television broke the age-old taboo of depicting gay characters with the advent of shows such as "Will and Grace," and "Ellen."

But awards expert Marty Grove, columnist for the Hollywood Reporter.com, said this year's gay motif was coincidental.

"I think it's not so much that Hollywood is suddenly wanting to exploit gay themes," Grove told AFP.

"It's just that a couple of pictures happen to be in the market this season that have gay characters and are being judged as good pictures," he said.

But USC's Gross stressed that while the gay taboo was slowly lifting in society as well as in film, this year's pack of homosexual or transgender lead characters did not mean Hollywood was ready to come out of the closet.

"It's interesting that not a single one of the actors who played these characters is actually gay and that all have very clearly established heterosexual credentials out in the public domain," he said.

There are few if any A-list US movie stars who are openly gay for fear of comprising their careers as leading men and ladies and that there was a little too much praise of straight stars who "dare" to take on gay roles, even though gay actors do it all the time, Gross said.

"Gay actors are still largely locked in Hollywood's closet by their inclination, especially if they are good-looking and credible as romantic leads or action heroes.

"I don't think Hollywood's ready for that much gay content in films yet," he added.

Gay cowboy film tops competition at Golden Globes Tue Jan 17, 2:09 PM ET

BEVERLY HILLS, United States (AFP) - The gay cowboy romance "Brokeback Mountain" and the Johnny Cash biopic "Walk The Line" grabbed top honours at the Golden Globe Awards, giving both a major boost in the coming Oscar race.

On a glittering Hollywood night that notably recognised films dealing with characters on the margins of society, the best actor in a drama award went to Philip Seymour Hoffman for his portrayal of the gay writer Truman Capote in "Capote."

"I was given the best part of my life, basically, and I know that," said Hoffman, who beat out fellow nominees Heath Ledger for "Brokeback Mountain," Russell Crowe for "Cinderella Man," Terrence Howard for "Hustle and Flow" and David Strathairn for "Good Night, and Good Luck."

And Felicity Huffman picked up the best actress in a drama Globe for her role as a pre-op male transexual in "Transamerica."

"I would like to salute the men and women who brave ostracism, alienation and a life lived on the margins to become who they really are," Huffman said.

Other nominees were Maria Bello for "A History of Violence," Gwyneth Paltrow for "Proof," Charlize Theron for "North Country" and Zhang Ziyi for "Memoirs of a Geisha"

"Brokeback Mountain" cemented its position as favourite for the best film Oscar by scooping the best drama award, as well as Globes for Taiwanese director Ang Lee, and Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana who wrote the screenplay.

Lee paid warm tribute to the other nominated directors and noted that the award carried more honour than ever, given what had been "an amazing year" for American cinema.

"So I want to give my first thanks to my fellow filmmakers for strengthening my faith in the power of movies to change the way we're thinking," Lee said.

Based on a short story by novelist Annie Proulx, "Brokeback" is the wrenching story of two macho cowboys who, despite themselves, begin a romance in 1963 and pursue it during stolen moments over the next two decades.

The other nominees for best drama were "The Constant Gardener," "Good Night, and Good Luck," "A History of Violence" and "Match Point."

The other big winner on the night was "Walk The Line" which took the award for best musical or comedy, as well as best actor and actress Globes for its co-stars Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon.

"I was having a lot of fun, but I'm having even more fun now," gushed Witherspoon, who said her own southern US roots had made the project and the role of Cash's wife, June Carter Cash an especially poignant one.

"This film is really important to me. It's about where I grew up. It's about the music I grew up listening to," she said.

Hollywood's first major show of the awards season, the Golden Globes is viewed as a key predictor of Oscar success. The Academy voters have until Saturday to pick their nominees for the Oscars which will be presented on March 5.

Among the other winners on Monday, were George Clooney and Rachel Weisz who took home the best supporting actor and actress awards for their respective roles in the political dramas "Syriana" and "The Constant Gardner."

"It's early, I haven't had a drink yet," said Clooney who was also nominated in the best director and best screenplay categories for his broadcast drama "Good Night and Good Luck."

Clooney, who played a disaffected CIA agent in "Syriana," used his acceptance speech to offer a tongue-in-cheek dedication to Jack Abramoff, the disgraced lobbyist currently at the center of a mushrooming political scandal in Washington.

"I want to thank Jack Abramoff, you know, just because ... I don't know why," he said to laughter from the star-studded audience.

Weisz, who played an activist taking on the pharmaceutical giants in Africa in "The Constant Gardner," paid warm tribute to the movie's star Ralph Fiennes, who was notably overlooked for a best actor nomination.

"One could not ask for a more wonderful, committed actor," said Weisz, who also credited the film's producer for "the great dignity and finesse with which she took a bunch of rich white people into some very, very, severely poor areas of Kenya."

Organised by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, this year's Golden Globes fell on Martin Luther King Day, a fact gleefully picked up on by one of the presenters, black comic Chris Rock.

"Relax, you only have to be nice to black people for two more hours," Rock told the predominantly white audience.

"Paradise Now," the tale of two Palestinian childhood friends who volunteer to be suicide bombers, won the Golden Globe for best foreign-language film.

Director Hanny Abu-Assad thanked Warner Independent Pictures for their "faith and courage" in distributing the film in the United States and said the award was recognition that "the Palestinians deserve their liberty and equality unconditionally."

Other nominees in the category were two films from China, "Kung Fu Hustle" and "Master of the Crimson Armor," as well as "Merry Christmas (Joyeux Noel)" from France and "Tsotsi" from South Africa.

Maybe Richard is on vacation in Burbank, CA

I heard it's nice this time of year. Apparently there's some new television network that's aimed at the GLBT community. I don't know too much about it. I've heard the CEO is a pretty stand-up guy. I might look into it. It's exposure also seems to be growing too. Maybe they issue stock, so people can help fund it. I don't know. I have to go to Home Depot. Maybe Bed Bath and Beyond. I might check it out when I get back, but I don't know if I'll have enough time.

The headline should read.............

Pop Star makes a casual comment about something people knew anyway and Frank pr's it like it's a big deal.

What a freakin joke.
--------------------------------------

I disagree with that. I think that coming out is a pretty big deal. It was a big deal when Ellen came out. But Gioia Bruno is no Ellen.

Whatever, they're making progress. And the more I see of Honey, the more I like her. I actually find Brunch to be very entertaining. It's a nice mix, and a good change from the **** that's currently on daytime television.

Regis and Kelly is the same stuff everyday. The View (if it's still even on the air) is quite annoying. And everything else is just getting so bland and old. I wouldn't be surprised if this station gets the "Lifetime" and "Women's Entertainment" audience. And, I have a feeling that Queer Eye gets more than just a GLBT audience.

Hell, I watch QE occassionally, and I'm a straigh guy... it's actually a good show. And Carson used to work at Ralph Lauren (the Madison Avenue store)... and I work/worked at the Short Hills one in NJ... But, I heard he's an ass, haha.

I talked with Richard today. He’ll be back on Monday. Being from Boston, he took his honey to where its warm, wet and lots water around a dot of land. If I knew where he was staying, I would send him a bottle of champagne. Richard said that he gave Frank a list of 6 – 8 requirements for him to uproot his family and move to Burbank. Among these requirements were Transparency and Corporate Governance. He wants most or all these in place or in motion before he moves. IMO, Richard is our best and most ardent supporter. Maybe we’ll get more in the DVD then we thought, I hope so.

so i guess if he moves, than we can assume that 6-8 of the requirements met his criteria.

that would be a huge plus [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Thanks Jen. I posted that on IHub for them to see too. I hope you don't mind.

Ha, I was just thinking. If Richard moves, would that be considered insider trading? Cause I would definitely buy more upon hearing that he's going to Burbank.

MJM..you'd have to get in line behind me, and maybe when it's your turn there might be a share left for you [Big Grin]

Hey, I'll take it. I'm trying to only buy stock on the legit markets (AMEX, Nasdaq, NYSE, etc)...haha...

So, if there's any legit news, I can dump all of that... liquify my assets quickly (5 second guaranteed trades haha) and jump in QBID for a run...

No mjm, it would be insider transfering!
