I actually think it's the first time I've seen all those lawsuits. So if U4 isn't the first, who is?

Someone else posted the link five or so pages before U4. He just rides the coattails of this board, as usual...like someone else who always posts... but I'm not mentioning any names.

Lobo on Ihub actually brought those lawsuits to life. I am Also disappointed in you after all you told us that you knew all there was to know about Frank, even his high school data. How could you have missed this important stuff.

We have QTN in Houston!
The TW tech just left and our cable is back on. It looks like a movie called "Together and Apart" is currently playing on QTN. The audio seems fine to me. The video is a bit jumpy. I also noticed a few of what looked to me like scratches in an old film. I'm looking forward to seeing the QTN World News at 6:00.

Jenny Shimizu, model/actress and former lover of Angelina Jolie, made international headlines this week when British newspaper the Sun published an interview containing some very explosive quotes.

Among other things, the article insinuated that Shimizu and Jolie were hardly exes. "There has never been an ending to her and I," said Shimizu, according to the Sun. "I think there never will be. I think we will continue to have a deep relationship. It really does go beyond just the sex."

Later, the Sun quoted Shimizu as saying, "Whenever [Angelina] calls me up, I visit her. It's not always the case that we have sex. Sometimes we go to her property in Cambodia and explore the jungle."

The piece was picked up on gossip sites all over the Internet -- in some cases, the quotes became more exaggerated. As rumors went flying, the affable Shimizu had had enough, so she took to the airwaves of Q Television Network to set the record straight.

And if anybody didnt see, there is also a link to the Qlive interview with Jenny. A must watch imo

This officer confirmed for me that Frank is a charismatic promoter-entrepreneur who doesn't have the skills or character to run a public company. The officer expressed his frustration with Frank, acknowledging that no CEO is good at everything and that Frank needs to make some changes for the success of the network to be assured. He bought his own shares, and I told him that I'm relieved to hear that he and others in the company have some 'skin in the game' so that they share outsiders shareholders' interests.

This person struck me as quite sharp and knowledgable in his field. Glad he's on the team and a shareholder. He had no information about the audit but was aware that Frank has not released it yet.

OLSEN, WHERE'S THE AUDIT RESULTS YOU SKUNK?

yep mjm, i agree. The guy host is a new one, ( i think that was his first night) but he is taking the place of hot gay joe who is now going to be having his own show! Robbie laughin is the guy you saw there and i think he has experience as i belive he was in the queer eye for the striaght girl.

Im expecting a program rollout come the first of the year, and hopefully get way past the measely 5 hours of original programming we got so far per day.

OK...I've been home for a short time and L tells me I have to take over the reporting duties. Picture quality is good. Had a guy from the Vanguard Fund telling about their support of GLBT in stocke...how Exxon still doesn't have a policy statement opposing GLBT discrimination. Now there's a guy from the HRC talking. Seems like a professional and political evening. Kind of sleazy dancers come out pre-commercial, and I don't see much in the way of sponsors/advertisers...but hey, it is a good beginning and fairly well done. Advertising for "World According to Garp" movie and fight against aids commercial now. Pretty good but I'm changing the channel to watch a BB game. Sorry. Overall so far so good. ~S

why are you so lame?

you answer those questions and we will entertain you an answer.

hahaha, "Why are you so lame" PT, act your age not your shoe size. Haha, just kidding.

I always find it funny when non shareholders and bashers come on this thread and post three sentences and leave. I thought hit and runs are illegal. ha. Stockforfun comes to mind, but half the time I can't understand what he/she's saying anyway. (Maybe English is his second language? If that's true (and if that's true for others) then I'll stop ripping on them. But, inconprehensible writing is MUCH different than a few grammar problems or spelling mistakes here and there. Hey, I don't write perfect English. But, I can understand what I write. Uhhhh, I ramble)

I remember hearing that in order to get on Comcast they require 7 hours of original programming and "Q" currently has 5 but working on 2 new shows, so Comcast could be just around the next corner [Big Grin]

Sorry, I forgot to say who was talking about the 7 hrs of programming while I was listening. Last week I spoke with Nick (Scott Withers Asst) and he stated that it is a requirement of Comcast to have 7 hours or original programming before they will carry a new network. He also indicated that they the "Q" were working very hard to get the extra shows to make up the 7 hours [Big Grin]

IMHO I think this stock will trade much better with the stepping down of Frank and issuing a R/s 1000to1 ...we would be at .20 and the audits would be completed and the price would skyrocket to $10.00+ I never saw the day we would be at these levels. [Frown]
Frank has let many many dreams fade for us.
I just hope that for those who hold on thru it all......they will be rewarded. [Wink]
I know I have been one who has felt betrayed up to this point even though I didn't stick it out.
I'm back in now still hoping for that winning lotto ticket.
I know this will be a successful network,,just hope it rewards not just frank....."he has lost a capital "f" in my book for now or should I say
WHAT the *uck frank with a capital "F"

TV FEATURE
Gay-friendly network hits cable
QTN targets community with premium lineup
By MIKE MCDANIEL
Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle

Queer television has finally found a cable home in Houston. But you'll have to pay to see it.

Q Television Network joined the Time Warner premium cable lineup earlier this week. Available on channel 537 for $7.99 a month, QTN features content friendly to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, including five hours of live content Monday through Friday.

"When our CEO, Frank Olsen, was coming up with the idea of Q Television, he felt it was important to be live so the GLBT community could interact with us through phone calls, webcams and e-mails," said Scott Withers, executive vice president, programming. "It also allows us to react to major stories taking place that day so we could influence and educate the community we serve."

Live shows include Brunch, a daytime entertainment/talk show that Withers hosts; QTN WorldNews (6 p.m.), a half-hour newscast; On Q Live, a nighttime version of Brunch; The Reichen Show, a call-in program hosted by The Amazing Race's Reichen Lehmkul; and The Q Edge, which Withers describes as "our version of The Tonight Show but way out there in queer interest."

The content appears aimed at young adults, based on what has aired so far. It can be titillating at times (shirtless go-go boys) but not prurient (in a Q Live segment on 2006 calendars, care was taken not to show nudity).

Some of the shows are repeated in the overnight hours. Otherwise, the remainder of the lineup consists of a library of some 2,000 mainstream and independent movies (Camelot, for example), documentaries and such preproduced shows as Q on the Move, a travel show, and Life's a Drag, in which a drag queen travels across the country, primarily small towns, in search of drag shows.

The movies run commercial-free, but the live programs include commercials (mostly public-service announcements so far). This provides QTN income on top of subscription fees — a practice not common on premium channels. One of the draws of premium TV is not having to deal with ads.

It's possible that the double-dipping policy will be altered in the future.

"We're always going to be a pay station," Withers says. "We don't want our network thrust into everybody's homes, because there are places, especially in parts of Texas, that don't want a GLBT network."

As for the commercials, "we'll cut back," he says.

A portion of QTN's income will be devoted to developing more original programming. Withers says plans for next year include "several" reality-based shows and a game show.

"One of the drives for us will be an episodic show," he says. "We're not sure if it's going to be a comedy or drama. I'm personally pushing for a GLBT science-fiction show, but I don't know if I can find a staff that can pull that off."

QTN televised the Houston gay pride parade earlier this year. Ironically, Houston couldn't see it.

"We brought live coverage from seven cities around the country," Withers says. "Houston has a unique pride parade — it's at night, which made it absolutely gorgeous. So we were happy to share it with our viewers who were not in Houston, and we're really excited that Houston will be able to see it this year on Time Warner."

I was watching the December 14th QTN WorldNews Clip...and there's a British anchor holding a QTN mic. He said he's in NYC, but I thought it was England, idk. Are we going to England maybe? It's not out of the question, since we have already gone international. I don't really see the point of having a British anchor (Is he all that was available? Are they trying to appeal to a new audience? (England?))

(Check out the clip...Around 2:40 into it, you'll see the Brit.)

Good morning all,

Yes it is possible mjm. And the possibility was confirmed in the last MIPCOM PR. Both Europe and Asia had communication reps who visited Q at the show and expressed interest in carrying Q. Talks were to develope between Q and those two markets.

I would be willing to bet that we will be in at least one of those markets in 2006. [Big Grin]

I was thinking the opposite. I would have thought that Q would of wanted more commercials. I thought the revenues from commercial ads were the biggest contributor to the bottom line.

Maybe there isn’t a point to having a British anchor; maybe he’s just a good anchor who happens to be British.

On the other hand, some people think a British accent is cool.

Just some thoughts…

Just wanted to say thanks to those who are posting on what Q does have available from their own TV and to Doc, MT and PT for their most recent info.
