And Thorn, at 1/20th of a cent per share, I WOULD invest in the artifacts in your backyard too, without any numbers. And you probably don't even have any riches buried there.

"If we can get to it (the Washington wreck site) . . . items recovered below could go up over $1 billion in value," Mr. MacKinnon said with a smile.
$1B / 250B shares = $.004 pps
And that's just that one ship PLUS assuming all authorized shares are allocated (dilution? lol).

Do they get to keep all of the salvaged items? What percentage are they allowed to keep as profit as opposed to being required to hand over to federal or state governments?

I'm pretty darned sure it is 10%.
(edit) Found it... "Mr. MacKinnon said parts of Nova Scotia's coastline are among the richest in the world based on the number of wrecks, estimated to be in the thousands.
The province takes a 10 per cent share of all goods recovered from such wrecks. Le Chameau Explorations and its shareholders get the rest to sell at auction houses, mostly in Europe or the United States." (/edit)

Thorn's right, 10%. "The province takes a 10 per cent share of all goods recovered from such wrecks. Le Chameau Explorations and its shareholders get the rest to sell at auction houses, mostly in Europe or the United States."

Does this mean that the shareholder's get some sort of dividend for this? What exactly does this mean and how do the shareholder's benefit directly? Sorry if it's a dumb question... I'm still figuring all this out.

It's just a nice way of including the shareholders with the company. The company sells the stuff, the company earns a profit; thus, the shareholders value increases.
Wouldn't it be nice if the company actually sent us a bunch of artifacts and said 'here, go sell these'?

Heh. Yeah, that'd be cool. They could come up with some program that anyone who holds x amount of shares for x amount of time will get one coin or artifact of a low value. That'd be sweet.

I said "not at a decent price." eBay prices for regular junk is at least 20% off wholesale price--but we are talking collector's items here, so it would be far worse. Try selling comic books at a good price on eBay. It's a buyer's market.

SVXP - I received an email from Curt Sprouse, COO of SEAI, regarding whether Captain Bob MacKinnon was on their team or not, which was a big concern I had. I wanted to be sure this guy was "on board" - no pun intended:
Dear Chris,
Bob Mackinnon is involved with the SVXP portfolio companies. Thanks for you interest and support.

Yip.
But is it? Shorting by itself would explain the downturn...naked shorting would require a much larger vol, imo.
---------- With lack of PRs or any reason for it to go up, I wouldn't blame them for shorting it tho. A stock can't stay up long without some kind of income report to back up the rise in pps. (case in point: GTE).

There hasn't been a lot of volume either. With low volume, people waiting for a short term spike tend to get bored and bail. With no news, and no numbers, any stock will trend downward.
I can't wait until they start getting in some appraisal numbers.

I'm still looking for an exact match for the one used as a picture on the main page of the web site but it is also a 1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling! We have early Colonial Artifacts coming up from our wrecks!

I'm impressed Rick. I wonder how much booty there is down there. Bring it up and let all of us shareholders have a look at it. I'm not selling at 0.0005!
