Firestone Communications Signs Q Television Network for Production and Network Origination Services
Agreement Further Diversifies Media Company, Creates New Jobs for North Texas
DALLAS / FORT WORTH - October 26, 2004 - Firestone Communications, Inc. (FCI) has signed Palm Springs, Calif.-based Q Television Network (Q TV) (Pink Sheets: QBID) to a long-term network origination and production agreement. Under terms of the agreement, FCI will make Q TV's programming available via FCI's uplink to the Intelsat America 7 satellite. FCI also will produce long-term Q TV programming, including a three-hour live weeknight block consisting of a talk show, news program and sports show, in addition to a biography series and various other programming. FCI is a privately held media and communications company based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.
The Q TV agreement illustrates the breadth of services and expertise that FCI offers television networks requiring full-service, network origination and production capabilities. Although based in California, Q TV sought a media and communications partner able to provide a state-of-the-art digital teleport for satellite uplink and master control, in addition to a fully functional creative and production facility and staff. FCI will produce and uplink Q TV's original programming and live broadcasts from its two on-site production and broadcast studios and master control facility. Q TV also will rely on FCI's creative team for branding services, including interstitial and promotions.
Due to the large scope of on-site program production services FCI will coordinate on behalf of Q TV, FCI is currently hiring additional production staff. Additionally, Q TV is casting acting talent from the Dallas/Fort Worth area to accommodate their programming needs.
"Firestone Communications' high-tech facility, full-service production capabilities and experienced leadership team provides our network with the expertise and reliability we need as our network expands into new markets across the country," said Frank Olsen, President and CEO of Q Television Network. "Firestone's facility provides all the services we need under one roof. We were looking for better ways to uplink our network and were pleased to learn about Firestone's diverse expertise and broad service offerings. Firestone provides an excellent environment for program production, origination and distribution due to the efficiencies found with their economies of scale."
FCI provides its clients with access to cable and satellite audiences with its 24/7 network origination facility. Origination is one of FCI's core services, providing master control and delivery of video programming using an optimal combination of high-performance fiber optic, satellite, Internet protocol, and conventional delivery methods to reach television, cable and satellite audiences.
"Our agreement with Q TV is a milestone event and further represents the wide range of services and expertise we provide television networks of all sizes and reach," said Leonard Firestone, Chairman and CEO of Firestone Communications. Michael Fletcher, President, of FCI added, "Signing Q TV for network origination and production services is a great example of how FCI can help companies manage costs without compromising quality of service. Our leadership team is comprised of industry veterans and our customers appreciate our hands-on approach to helping them achieve their objectives."
The addition of Q TV to FCI's client roster further exemplifies the customized package of services it provides to both commercial and corporate production companies. ¡Sorpresa!, FCI's own all-Spanish children's network, originates from the FCI facility and has carriage deals in place on Cablevision, Comcast, Cox, Time Warner Cable, and the National Cable TV Cooperative. America One Television Network relies on FCI for its master control play out and C-band satellite uplink services. America One is a 24-hour broadcast network that provides Western, equestrian, and homeland values programming to over 20 million households via 123 broadcast affiliate stations located in 40 states. The Sound Track Channel, an entertainment network now available in 40 countries, signed a 10-year network origination agreement through which FCI makes STC's programming available to U.S. and foreign cable operators via FCI's uplink to the Intelsat America 7 satellite.
The FCI Operations Center is an FCC-licensed earth station, with uplink digital master control, and automated trafficking systems. The C-band satellite uplink is capable of transmitting multiple signals, high-quality broadcast feeds and multiple stereo audio channels in a PowerVue Plus format. The Production Systems features Avid media composers, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Graphics After Effects System, 3DS Max 3D graphics, off-line editing systems and Betacam SX and Digital Betacam, Betacam SP, and other tape formats. Additionally, Firestone has installed Sea Change Media Servers, Sundance Automation equipment, and VCI STARS II+.
About Q Television Network: A wholly-owned subsidiary of Triangle Multi Media, Q Television Network was organized to create and develop a network devoted to providing television programming for the gay and lesbian community. While the company expects much of its subscriber base to be comprised of members of the gay and lesbian population, management also believes that quality programming about the gay and lesbian experience, designed to entertain, educate and inform, will attract many other segments of the viewing public. The company's programming will be available on a subscription basis to those desiring its programming. The network will broadcast 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Providing distribution via satellite ensures availability of the network across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

As I'm building my site I would appreciate it if anyone can give me some links to quickly find information to post on it. I would really like to find some detailed information on Frank Olsen, Rene Schenk, and Steve Grunberg to create biographies on them. I don't have anything that clearly describes their background. So any push in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks. Matt

Hey Terry, I've googled Frank and can only mostly find recent info on him regarding qbid. I want info on past experience and employment. I haven't read the bio on IHUB thoroughly. I'll check it out later. Just to keep you guys posted. I didn't have much time to work on the website this weekend. I finished the comparing qbid to other networks section, the technical analysis of qbid stock section, and am very close to finishing the conferance call section. I want to not only present all the information but explain it. For example for the conferance call I am typing up the complete transcript, highlighting important points Frank and Rene mention, then explaining what those points mean to QBID. I would have finished that section a long time ago but geocities won't allow me to cut and past text into their program. Therefore I've spent most of the time retyping the transcript. What a pain in the butt. I'll let you all know when I'm finished.
In the meantime I again encourage anyone to please help me with some DD to write biographies on Frank Olsen, Rene Schenk, and Steve Grunberg. They are the key players in the running of QTN right now. I'm not going to bother writing bios on anyone else such as Liz Taylor or the Q Live hosts, you can go to www.qtelevision.com for that. Anyways. Best of luck tommorrow all! Matt

Good morning fellow QBiddians, today should be interesting as Sundance is over and the gang are back at the studio. I would expect PR's this week and especially being that tomorrow starts February. Maybe news regarding carriers or new contracts or maybe the news about Good Morning Gay America.

Try living in Jacksonville, NC. That place is....interesting...to say the least (not wanting to offend anyone who actually liked it there! lol)
Man if Qbid keeps dropping, it's going to force me to buy more! I just can't see how this stock won't make it to the moon! In fact I am willing to bet Qbid will make it to the moon before NASA under the Bush administration will! lol (And yes I voted for him...twice...don't hate me!)
