I know I am feeling pretty special about that too.) I was checking on my funds that I began transfering to my account this past Saturday that still haven't showed in my account. Basically because the funds were moved with their "Quick Transfer" feature and the transfer was not that quick so it raised a bunch of "red flags" for me.
Appearantly, funds ACHed to your account that used to be immediate now due to "new" fraud protection rules put in place industry wide can hold up funds for upto 6 business days! Kind of defeats the purpose of "Quick Transfer" huh. Anyway I need to wire the funds. So I had him cnacel the transfer and as soon as they appear back at my bank I am going down there to wire. Just FYI for all those who enjoy this feature of ETradeand other brokers. I got no notification of the change and was really taken by surprise since most of my transfers from my bank to ETrade could be used imediately.

Thanks Taxback. Ive already fired off 3 nasty messages to them, hopefully they will cancel the transfer. I didnt realize it was industry wide though. I guess ill actually need to keep seed money in my account for impulse buys now. Major drag. It sure seems like they could use other ways to verify transfers, especially when your account is years old.

doesn't this act pretty much say that. You're broker has to put you on the NOBO list unless I say I don't want to be.
Under rule 14b-1(c) of the Securities Exchange Act, we are required to disclose to an issuer the name, address, and securities position of our customers who are beneficial owners of that issuer's securities unless the customer objects. Please check here if you do NOT want ownership disclosed.

What kills me is that they didn't tell anyone, and I am pretty sure they need to change the advertised name on that service. It is no longer quick to "Quick Transfer"!
I will probably be like you and keep seed money in there, but with the 20/80/300 plan I am working on you have about 5 days before any buy anyway so maybe just planning ahead would be better for me. All in all if it is truely "fraud protection" I will learn to deal with it I am sure.
Sorry I did not make more of an issue about it a couple of days ago. I might have been able to get you some advanced warning I don't know.

volume is low this morning... when will we get some news again? Rufas is supposed to have that doc by Thursday at 5pm right? So if it arrives early he should have something today.

I have never ordered but with both etrade and choicetrade I was asked to fax or email the request in... Maybe you should do the same, at least you will have some sort of "written" proof of ordering them...

I called and requested certs on 10/3. $40 and 4-6 weeks to deliver. I keep trying to get some form of written confirmation that my request was received and acted upon and so far have been stonewalled. My account has not been debited for the fee and there's no other indication in my account about the status of the request.
TDA says they don't have a form of written confirmation for that. Says they have a "fiduciary responsibility" to act on my request. I say if there is no proof of the request there's no accountability to the firm's fiduciary responsibility. They can lie and say I never made the request.
I've never pulled certs...does this sound fishy to anyone?

Doniboy....any news in the baby department?
Cat when Tax had posted about the delay in funds with etrade...I thought it was odd...I had just transfered funds...and everything was fine...didn't realize they were changing anything...seems they should have given everyone a heads up... Yet another reason to have at least 2 brokers IMO...

I noticed yesterday I could do it online through ETrade. It is a service request that is opened. Look under: Acounts/Forms&Applications/Trading&Taxes there is a link for "Request a Stock Certificate".

I have Fidelity and transferred $10,000 on 9/28. Bought shares on 9/29 (as the new dollars showed up in my available to purchase securities balance.) No problem. Money was actually received 10/2 according to my history. I have done this numerous times in the past with no e-mails or letters telling me not to.

Hey Guys, new to the group but have been watching for months. I hope this is not old news or can be helpful... I requested certs on 10/3 from ScotT, deduction was made with no record on my account, called 10/4 they said it would be on my end of month statement, now it appears on my account history with a written note that X amount of shares were transfered to DTC. Called TA and still no request. Is there no way of contacting DTC? Cant get on CVSU either

Has anybody noticed how many MM's are on $5. Someone asked Rufus about the new MM's they noticed and he said that they weren't there to sale "air-shares".

I used to do this all the time too, and with Etrade it was immediate, I looked at one transfer in August, and I bought shares 8 minutes after one transfer. But when I went to transfer this last time on Oct 3rd, they stopped it and it showed as "In Process". ETrade told me that there was a new "industry wide" rule regarding ACH transfers, and they now were being asked to hold them for up to 5 business days. The CSR was reading it from a script it sounded like over the phone. Just FYI for all those out there I ran into this earlier this week.
