I believe you are right and would win. However, that is how they come up with short shares per your question..

it seems to me blocking you from re-acquiring them is/was wrong too
Yes, i recommend you put a buy in for the shares you may be short, print out your cancelled response. Hence, if you are short, you can say you tried to cover at a better price ameritrade didn't let you.

Well...Ameritrade is $hitting peach seeds....(OUCH!)
I just got off the phone with them. I was requesting the latest information about the SEC / NASD investigation...she said they were pushing very hard for resolution of the matter. I stated to her that it seemed to me that they had to be real short here since they placed shares in our accounts and we were allowed to trade them...She..with a nervous laugh said obviously that is why we are pushing hard for resolution.
IMHO...Ameritrade is in deep caca...they owe me shares and they owe whomever bought the ones I sold and they know it....She also stated that no one was allowed to sell their shares anymore but I tried placing an order and it posted...I of course cancelled it.
I believe we will see the authorities make an example here....GVRP, the TA and the brokerages are all at fault at this point.....we are reaching critical mass....

Congrats to you all....Our families will all benefit from our efforts hopefully soon...
After much discussion with folks smarter than I (in the market...let's see you build an F-22..LOL) I have come to the following conclusion...
We don't want them to deliver the shares....we want them to cover or buy back the "non-existant shares in or soon to be in our acounts.....the last thing we want is a reversal....
we need the CABAB...churn and burn and buyback....
Good luck brothers and sisters in arms.....like I said...I think we ae reaching critcal mass....

evening all- I'm very new here and know next to nothing about stocks except what I am learning in this crash course w/GVRP..... Are these #'s kind of inflated? or just guesses on the amount of shares outstanding? Don't these numbers assume that the stockholder who got his/her split early sold all 3mm?

A thought....folks...we have a wonderful opportunity here.....but we need to play it right....you have all heard of bid wacking.this we must not do...if we hold...we are in complete control....the longer we hold the bigger the squeeze on our company, our brokerages, and the T/A....in short...we have'm by the ba77s...be greedy...we may never get a chance like this again.
I seriously doubt this can be reversed...it is now up to us to hold for the gold.....005 isn't out of the question....do the math.....

Well, I wouldn't say I'm that good a sleuth, but thanks for the compliment. Just reporting here on stuff I've gleaned from IHUB--for GVRP, those TGL guys are more the sleuths. I've done my share of sleuthing for other stocks, and yeah, it's kinda fun what you can do with Google and a good arsenal of key words. LOL.

That would be OK for those who sold Monday though. Thats why I was going to sell some more today, cuz if they dilute, my sells will stand and at least get something out of this although smaller then I would like. Didn't sell any today, I was about to and then saw the DJ article saying how the SEC had not complied with the company's request to halt trading. I got a bit encouraged by that. But I need to sell a couple hundred million tomorrow before the weekend just to hedge against possible dilution.

Well, if the SEC thinks that the O/S is 99 trillion shares, then maybe something along those lines are hidden in that amendment? Interesting that the amendment is dated yesterday.
Purl Gurl's discussion with this SEC attorney seems to go along with the Dow Jones article regarding the SEC's 99 trillion share O/S...

Joe Kamnik, SEC Attorney
Some reassuring and factual news from Joe Kamnik, an attorney with the SEC. Keep in mind, as an attorney, he must carefully choose his words. That is a given and expected. He cannot be critiqued for being careful.
Joe is nice, willing to speak at length, and made every effort to divulge what he could, without creating more problems associated with GLUV corporation.
Keeping this brief, we discussed Mrs. McWilliams' statement, "Yes, that is illegal," was not appropriate nor does her statement represent the SEC viewpoint. No surprise there and we did enjoy a bit of laughter, being on the same page.
Asked if there is any hint of when problems will be resolved, Joe responded it is possible within forty-eight to perhaps seventy-two hours, resolution might be effected.
I tried to evince a response from Joe market makers being allowed to trade while not allowing customers to trade, is illegal. Foolish of me to attempt to prompt a lawyer into agreement. He stated he does not have enough data to determine the legality of the situation.
However, after continued pleasant dialog, he did laugh and concede market makers trading for profit and customers not allowed to do the same, is unethical, at least.
Joe added reassurance these problems with GLUV are very well known, are of great importance and are on the SEC "front burner" for attention.
He quickly agreed with my estimation of trillions of shares outstanding. We concur, maybe 99-trillion.
He was kind enough to allow a little more out by stating they do not want to make the problem worse and are taking great care to "put the pieces back in the right places" without causing harm to individual investors.
After thought and review of my shorthand notes, it is clear, at least Joe Kamnik, does have "our" interests in mind and at heart.
Eliciting information is based upon conversational skills and approach. With the right approach, some humility, a bit of humor and expressed appreciation, others will afford more than you might expect.
However, you have to attain their attention first.
"Put the pieces back in the right places."
His statement tells me everything I need to know and tells me exactly will happen in the near future.
