I quit when I was pregnant with my first child.
Amazing after smoking for awhile - years - sometimes off but mostly on - how easy it was to quit when I was pregnant. I didnt want to risk the health of my baby so that was more important than smoking.

After, the baby was born, I went back - got pregnant again- and quit again - then after the second was born- I tried smoking again- it literally mind me dizzy and sick - never smoked again-

argue with Upside, mostly.

traded some, I guess you might remember. He and that kid had a good run with volume stocks.

He had his methods. I never crossed paths much until one day we were both on PMED, and together we pretty much nailed that day's bounce. It's on-thread somewhere.

He also gave pumpers on PLNI a full-measured, consistent, rotten-tooth hell. Truth be told, I didn't appreciate what he was saying then nearly as much as I should have.

Miss will a lot...

I say corruption every time taxes on anything go up.
People have a right to ingest what they want and should be free from government's behavior conditioning.

I say tax the hell out of the poison.

I don't care what anybody wants to ingest just don't make me and my family ingest poison.

In this case the medical proof is in secound hand smoke hurts people so the government is protecting us that choose to live tabacoo free.

If a smoker wants to be a drain on society by prematurely getting sick ok we can foot the bill. But please smoke at home and make your own family sick.

The government doesn't give a crap if you live or die as long as they make money and thats all this is about. I'm sure this was all started somewhere with lobbyists for the insurance companies who aren't happy spending money on cancer patients because it cuts into their profit. When they lose this revenue from people quitting you will care because you'll be asked to pick up part of the deficit it leaves.

Funny how efficient government is at dividing us and conquering. Everyone is separated into a category and taught to hate all other categories.
Oh those dirty smokers.. I don't care what you do to them.. they don't deserve rights.. scumbags.
Oh those nasty drinkers... bla bla.
Oh those stupid potheads... bla bla.

It's all a distraction and most are buying it and condemning themselves.

well, what's really telling is this: If it's so bad? Just outlaw it.

Otherwise, if it's legal? How can it be justified to tax at different rates?

By that measure, what would be the tax rate on those who profit(ed) from CDOs and CDSs?

Well it is very hard to out law something that is part of our American culture even though it is bad for you.

They pretty much can do what thet are doing tax it more restrict it so as to modify the danger and restrict advertiseing of the product.

Such as when I was a kidtabacoo used to advertise on saturday morning cartoon shows. Thats a no,no as far as I am concerned. Of course when you are killing off 400,000 plus of you customer base every yesr you have to recruit somewhere

raybond, since you feel so strongly about this i would like to point out something that i believe is important.

i am a smoker who was hooked very young.

that's unquestionable. once hooked as some of us are? you might as well make us stop eating anything sweet as well...

that brings me to my point.

processed sugar, white bleached cane and korn, kills more people than anything else. maybe everything else combined.

24 Million Americans Had Diabetes in 2007
57 million more had pre-diabetes, but education drive making inroads, CDC says

http://diabetes-news-feed.com/art616846.asp

so we should outlaw that too and tax it to the moon,,,

processed sugar is a drug just like nicotine. it has no nutritioanl value, we can live very well without any PROCESSED sugars... biologically speaking? sugar is needed, but processed sugars are totally irrelevant.

next on the list is highly refined grains (flour)...

our nutritional needs are for much "larger" chunks of grain, so we should either ban or tax any grain that's ground below a size that i will find for you if you wish [Big Grin]

First of all I am sorry that you are hooked I was to. And I have heard the case for sugar and i realize it is bad for you but one thing is when a person sits down next to another person and eats a candy bar it does nothing to the other person not so with a cigarette being smoked.

Smoke all you want to, just not in confined public places smokers are that ones that are offensive with ther habit not non smokers and my advise to you is quit. If I can you can.

i would be happy if they spent the money they are taxing for a "healthier" replacement nicotone delivery system they are not. patches and gum do not even have the same type of nicotine as tobacco, and beleive me i can tell the difference

people "hooked" at or around 14 are much more likely to never be able to quit than those hooked at 21

as for smoking around non-smokers, i have always respected that and don't like smoking indoors...

as fro the candy? that's debatable.

i challenge you to give one kid in four any candy and watch what happens....

it's not just candy either... its breads adn pies and cakes too....

refined grains are too much of a good thing.

go to any person that's overwirght and i bet you that 3/4's of them eat bread along witht heir potatoes or rice or whatever their starch is...

i live in a place where biscuits are always put on the table. with meals... that all by itself leadds to dibetes and other problems.

an average can of soda has about 10 tsp of sugar in it...

Non smokers are offensive... Their asinine attitudes about the actions of others is downright obnoxious. They are weak minded and easily led by a government bent on controlling every aspect of the human experience. Quite frankly people need to pay attention to themselves and stop trying to be government's pet.

What you are saying is if you want to sit in a room and smoke and the majority of the people in that romm are offended by your actions to bad for them leave is that you point. And nonsmokers are not offensive that is the first thing you have got to learn with your antisocial behavior and complete disregard for medical science is the problem The majority of the population does not smoke anymore it is bad for your health and others that is a given you smokers are the ones committing the offense And customs are changing in this case for the good .I would suggest Eourpe for a place to go smoking is much more accepted there and a lot less restricted except in resturants they have always restrited it there you have always had to go to a smoking room

clinton and his anti-smoking campaign is one of the biggest reasons that i cannot stand him...

i dind't inhale LOL- that's worse than inhaling its fraud no matter how you fire it up...

then the Cigars... he's going after tobacco while he's buying cigars and worse? i used to buy good Macanudos for 17$ a box, while he was in office and before Monica's cigar dance? Cigars more than tripled in price cuz he made them popular.

i don't see how or why growing ANY plant should be illegal..
pot, taback, poppies? sure we can regulate trade. and probably should, but making these illegal for personal consumption is presumptive.

big tobacco has paid the govt off, and is allowed to keep doing what it does....

that's where my anger lies....

i SHOULD be able to purchase a legitimate replacement for cigs at a lower price than cigs because of the moeny collected on cigs and other tabak.. instead? replacemetns are poor quality and much more expensive.
