I've been using those electronic cigarettes. They seem to work pretty good. I'm down to 3 cigarettes a day from a pack.
You get the oral thing and the smoke thing (actually makes smoke) and has degrees of nicotine so you can wean off nicotine and still keep the behavior.
The behavior gets me more than the nicotine.
Chantix killed my stomach and the nausea was the only thing that kept me from smoking.
Acupuncture: didn't work Hypnosis: didn't work Patch: worked with alot of will power and then back to smoking. Gum: made me want to smoke
e-cig: working so far x3 months.

How do the e-cig's work with beer, or while drinking? Do they still detract form smoking or do they give enough of a dose of vitamin N so a person still doesn't want to smoke

They work perfectly with drinking, driving, hey, you can even have a smoke at the dinner table in a restaurant. Supposedly even on an airplane.
It's not real smoke although it feels like it. It's vapor. It's created with an atomiser heating propylene glycol mixed with nicotine in the filter.
Looks just like a regular cigarette if you want it to. A bit heavier though because the white part (the cigarette) is a battery. You can have as much nicotine as you think you need. It comes in varying strengths.

Seems they are unreliable... I looked briefly but couldn't really tell how long a cartridge lasts as compared with a pack of "analogs".

Ok here's a warning for ya if you ever buy the fake smokes. Never, ever, ever carry them on you when you have real ones. Everything is exactly the same except their all filter. Man. don't ever take a drag off those and I did it twice in the same day.

They're not unreliable but they don't last forever. Cartridges don't last that long and I couldn't compare it to "analogs" but they have e-juice to refill the cartridges. The juice comes in flavors too.
Ok, it's like being a junkie. You have to make sure you have enough of everything to sustain the transfer from analogs and the batteries need to be recharged. However, if you are at your computer alot, they have a USB passthrough that stays plugged into your computer and never needs recharging. Just constant power.
It's a substitute and works to either quit cigarettes are cut down considerably. Not quite a perfect science but I find it to be a really, really good substitute.
I've actually found a guy in China (that's where they're manufactured) and its really cheap. You buy a bunch of stuff and it lasts for months. I've actually grown to prefer them.
There's a whole language developed around them too. It's weird, cool, and Glass, no more sore throat or cough or smell.

Yeah, just spamming away. That's my new gig.
Just thought I share my experience quitting (almost) cigarettes. Cigarettes here aren't that expense yet. Still under $4.00 a pack but my daughter kept complaining that she smelled like cigarettes and being able to breathe was somewhat important to me.
Since nothing else worked for me I thought I'd try 'em. So far I like it. I figure even if I cut back it's an improvement.

I don't know which brand but the model is a M401. It looks most like a cigarette and the mouthpiece is round like a regular filter. Other models have a filter like a pipe (flat). There are different brands of the 401. Someone on the e-cig board turned me onto this manufacturer in China. Now I buy my parts from some guy on ebay (also in China).
I think we're probably the same generation because I remember buying 3 packs for a dollar. I remember charcoal filters and that commercial.
I think they're all looking for distributors. If you check out the link you'll see there are quite a few online retailers. They're now in the malls but very expensive and not good reviews.

Glass, I checked out that site. One cart does NOT equal even one pack of cigarettes. I don't know exactly how many cigarettes it compares to because I just use the liquid directly on the atomiser. I've become an e-cig junkie. I confess.
It seems that everyone who uses them finds the method that suits them best. Carts are reusable if you have the liquid. I use an empty cart and put the liquid on the atomiser. Creates more vapor.
If you're tempted to try them I suggest reading the e-cig forum. They are real addicts and have all kinds of tricks and suggestions and truthful, real information.

Ironically, I went over to Iwhore with this name and most eveyone knew. It was like a family reunion, "hey cotton, good to see you here, cotton, what do you know today, cotton blah blah blah.)I have had this screen name for 15 years and you would be suprised at how many people "assume" that I am an old man. I have had more older ladies proposition me than I care to count. "It was the whole cotton thing" they say..... does cotton mean old, someone?
