San Miguel is the beer what we had in the PI... Nam was over before i got in...
i lived in Chesapeake Va for several years and knew many many Nam vets. some had no bad 'speriences...
some were not "right" probably even before they went...
i had a neighbor that had been married to ex-Miss West Virginia when he went for his first tour marine recon in 1963....he laughed and said training my eye... he told me it was his third tour that made him "check out" of society that was when his wife left him too ... he did four in all...
spent many an evening sipping Jagermaiester and listening to Nam stories with him...
he had to be pretty drunk to talk about some of it...

All the VA stuff and probably this current round of chemo have brought things back I would rather not relive...I am only a man, I am not made of the Iron I was once before....I say good sailing to your husband because he has sure as hell earned the right to say. "I spent my time in Hell!

About time for fixin' dinner and skinny dipping.
We have a very dear friend, Greg. He served the same time as my husband but we did not meet him until many years later. Greg was in the motor pool fixing jeeps and trucks.
Greg and his fellow soldiers live in tents at some camp north of Saigon, an engineering camp, I think. In his tent, his most prized possession, a stereo and lots of eight track tapes sent over from home.
The Vietnamese attack by sending in mortar rounds. All grab their weapons and take cover. A mortar round lands right on his tent, blowing up everything, stereo, tapes, everything he owns.
My husband privately tells me a story Greg will not tell around his wife or me.
Greg goes beserker. He runs over to the motor pool area, jumps in a "half track" with a big machine gun on back and up top. Drives like crazy towards from where the mortar rounds are being fired, smashes through the perimeter barbed wire and all that, slams to stop, jumps out, starts firing his rifle and is yelling,
"You blew up F-n Janis Joplin! You blew up F-n Jimi Hendrix! You blew up the F-n Doors! I'll kill all of you F-n (more vulgar words)."
He yells this over and over while shooting. When he runs out of bullets, still yelling about his eight track tapes, he climbs up on the truck and lights up a big machine gun. He is still yelling about Buffalo Springfield, Jefferson Airplane on and on, "You blew up F-n Elvis! I'll kill you F-n (cuss words)"
When this is all over, he has killed at least five Vietnamese and took out a couple of mortar positions while at it. He also rallied his other soldiers who came up behind him. Greg says he did not know they were there being so damn mad.
Greg is about the most gentle giant you could know. He is huge but very kind of heart, unless you blow up his eight track tapes!

Purl,
I'm not sure how to ask this question without you taking it the wrong way, but do you ever post your picks anywhere? I totally believe what you say your success rate is, and I congratulate you on your recent milestone. But, it seems that everytime I get to see your analysis at work, it is when a stock is on its way down, or you are warning that it IS going to go down.
I've only been trading a few months and I've only been on this board the same, so maybe I've missed where you've alerted us to stocks on the way up. Or maybe you just don't do that (which is your perogative).

I am not sure what would be the best method to find those picks. Perhaps you could run a search on my moniker, Purl Gurl. Lots of articles to go through!
Recently, most of my time is spent discussing picks tossed out by Tex, Blue, Dustoff, Jordan, and, hmm, who am I forgetting? Glassman!
Others as well.
Any one of those persons and a couple others whose monikers escape me for the moment, make very good picks. Blue is excellent for longer term very safe picks. Dustoff is great at high risk day trades. Tex falls between. Jordan and some of the others, play almost anything.
Maybe you could simply start picking out articles on the "hot stocks" board and read. This is where we spend most of our time.
My apologies to those whose monikers I did not mention, my memory is old and tired. Besides I am in the middle of a hissy fit because of this E440 boy following me around and causing trouble for everyone.

No, no, not anymore. I will not be providing stock tips, will not be affording advice except in rare circumstances.
Allstocks is under the control of pump and dump criminals. They own Allstocks.
Nope, I am not about to play their games. They are in charge now, they dictate policy here at Allstocks. Nope, I will not be a slave to the pump and dump criminals now in charge of Allstocks.
You folks will need to seek stock advice from E440, Bond, Answap and the rest. They are in charge, they will tell you what to do, or not do.
Do what they tell you do. They will not mislead you nor give you bad advice. If you do not do what they tell you, they will have you banished.
Meanwhile, I will continue making excellent profits as a free person, free of authoritarian rule.

Blue has some opinions on Raven Moon stock.
However, talk to him privately. Should the new leaders around here catch you discussing Raven Moon without their input, without their approval, nothing but trouble!
Raven Moon, that is your ticket per Egg Inspector.

Silly boy, what are you doing asking a girl for help?
Dang, boy, you know we women know nothing about trading stocks and all that. Women have no place in the stock markets!
I am off! I have been instructed to retune a Weber carburetor, today. I need to change the metering rods and primary jets to effect a four percent leaner condition for "cruise" conditions.
Do not ask me about stocks! I am a woman!
Ask me about cars and hot rods. There I have a little bit of knowledge.
Oh ****! E440 will be in here to file at least 8,257,307 secret complaints to have me banished for daring to post such an offensive and vulgar picture.
My GOD! Seeing flesh is bound to corrupt your morals and send Viagra stock skyrocketing.

I'd like to place an order please. I'll have those two buns that are hanging outside the Fat Shack. No ketchup, no mustard, whatever's inside of 'em will be just fine. Thank you.

I will have you know I just finished fine tuning a Weber four barrel carburetor. Had to tune it twice to get it right. A little too lean on the meter rods first time around, just right second time around.
I love being alone in a hot rod; no daughter to tell me to not burn rubber and not drive fast. Life is great when the kids are out of the house and off working!
'57 Chevy again, 350 horsepower, 4:11 in the rear. Boy, oh boy, talk about making the tires screech!
Ahh... do not be impressed. I used a work shop manual which provides precise instructions for tuning. Piece of cake and I did not break a nail!
