i used to live near Regent University in Va Beach...
Pat Robertson used to get on TV and claim faith healings came from joining the "700 Club"...
the "700" in 700 club was how much they wanted you to donate as i recall....
it was a friggin tax free biz... LOL Rupert Murdoch bought it for 1.8 billion as i recall... now? foxnews looks alot like the news they used to do on pats show...
robertson even got tax free deals to build aprtments/condos in Va Beach....
rumors are that his mailing list from CBN is what Rove uses to spread all these ridiculous e-mails chain letters claiming all kinds of outrageous politcal things from demonizing the libs/dems to making dubya sound like he speaks directly to God...

But Glassman..... Are they doing anything that is breaking the law? You make it sound like Pat Robertson is some sort of bad guy or something but he's not. The same goes to The Reverend Billy Graham. For decades, he has been doing the same thing Pat Robertson has. You should check out some old black and white videos of The Billy Graham Crusades in his younger days. He was quite Pentecostal. BUT why should Billy Graham go down in history to become the most "trusted" television evangelist of all??? TV evangelists and non TV preachers are teachers of the bible regardless if they ask for money or not. Sure they ask you to plant a seed (ask for money) but doesn't preacher at every church, nomatter what faith they belong to? Yes they do, don't deny that.

Have you seen the history of Billy Graham? I'm sure you've only seen him in modern times if you think that way about him. Have you seen old videos of him back in the black and white TV days? Again, quite Pentecostal during those days. Jumping up and down, waving the Bible in the air, shaking, rattling and rolling across the stage and shouting at the Devil. I agree that Billy Graham is a decent human being. But what Pat Robertson does, does not make him an indecent human being. Do you feel the same way about Jimmy Swaggart and Oral Roberts? Both Southern Pentecostal preachers..... Teachers of the Bible.

It is difficult to be polite to you. Either you take it as encouragement to carry on and on and brandish more insults or you resort to the Party line of name calling and insulting because you can't manage any sort of reasonable points of debate. So, if this sound harsh....I appologize....it isn't meant to be, but you NEED to hear some truth.
You are terribly quick to blame any and everything on others and always declare those "others" to be "liberal" (a property you can't even define), when in truth it is you and your attitude that is the source the problems. (Of course, according to you it's always someone else's fault. Lots of people in prisons saying that. Occassionally, one might be right, but only very very very occasionally.)
A day or two back you went into a long hateful diatribe about rude kids in high schools, their inappropriate behavior, and blamed it on "liberals", never offering any reasoning or rational, just declaring, accusing, and hating.
No! That's not true! You are way off base. It isn't the fault of liberals that so many kids today treat teachers and schools the way they do. Many (possibly even most) of those kids come from radical extreme conservative households and are simply echoing their parents disrespect for any and everything differing from the Party line.
Specifically, the problem actually is the failure of the parents (mostly conservative?) to instill proper respect for decorum. It shows up as rude behavior and horribly inappropriate attitudes and actions to specific situations (not just in schools). Much of it is the same as your incessant utterly disrespectful post in this forum. You don't respect anyone or anything, instead, loading the forum with childish vulgar inanities. No doubt, you believe you are accomplishing something. Sorry...it's inane and demeaning babble, providing nothing but evidence that you don't bother to think before you blurt out.
You just are being rude and disrespectful .....just like those kids. They are following your example.....nothing more and nothing less.
On another matter, there is no such thing as a "facist liberal" or a "liberal facist". That's not just inane, that's just plane flat simple minded ignorant. You don't know what liberal is and you don't know what facist is. I'll give you a hint: LIBERAL AND FACIST ARE MUTUALLY CONTRADICTORY. (But conservative and facist certainly can co-exist.)

I truly believe that name calling is your answer because EVERYTHING that I've stated is true. You can't deny that. You see it happening in your own city of FT. Worth. Hey, I lived in Garland, Texas just to get away from all you ultra-liberals at one time but here I am again fighting for the right values every American deserves. I'm not any Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell..... I'm just an simple, ordinary "Joe" who is trying to live a comfortable life in this country without having people like yourselves contaminating the once clean American air.

Rude kids in school? I think you guys are trying to classify young adults into a specific categories. Their behavior problems are not that easy to clasify. Lack of time spent with them is one problem, hormones, home problems etc. These young adults with these problems come from all walks of life and from different political and economic backgrounds. What I have found in the past is that a lot of these troubled kids need something to feel good about. It can be sports, music, dance, art, school etc. and once they find this and get encouragement, these problems solve themselves. When I was coaching this summer at the Boys and Girls club, I had a parent come up to me and say, it must be hard coaching these kids(12-15 year olds) I told them I had not thought about it. These kids all show me respect and I always showed them equal respect. Some of these kids were having major problems at school and at home. Over the 15+ years of coaching(7-19 year olds) I have never had a major problem. If you look for the bad in them ,they will know it and you will find it.

Maybe I am not understanding the post on Jan 12. But it appears to me that you and bdgee are trying to use the kids problems to help make your points. It appears to me that you are simplyfying their problems with political jargon. Yes, I do worry about the kids maybe to much , but they are the future of America, all of them. I tried to explain that to the "Grande All-highest Imperial Wizzard Dragon of the KKK", who described his "vision of America" in almost the same phrases as you do yours and with exactly the hatefullness and self importance, while sipping a bourbon at the bar of the "hotel" in downtown Tuscaloosa, Alabama once.
He didn't understand, either, that I don't hate enough to be like him. Like you, in matters of religion and politics, rationality was beyond his abilities. And like you, he imagined all manner of people to blame. And like you, his supposedly thought out "arguments" were dependent on logical misconstructions, like "liberal facism".
