Toronto, CAN, Feb. 1st, 2007 -- The Fight Network TM , North America’s only twenty-four (24) hour combatant sports and entertainment channel, announced today that it has acquired the exclusive Canadian broadcast rights to EliteXC “LIVE” and tape-delayed MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Events.
EliteXC is a newly-formed Mixed Martial Arts venture led by CEO Doug DeLuca and President of Live Events Gary Shaw, a prominent fight promoter. EliteXC is backed by LA-based Pro-Elite Inc. EliteXC will also be seen in the US marketplace on SHOWTIME, a premium television network.
The first event to air on The Fight Network in this multi-year deal will begin on February 10th “LIVE” at 10pm EST with Frank Shamrock vs. Renzo Gracie in the main event.
Frank Shamrock is regarded by many to be the first true mixed martial artist in combat sports. Renzo Gracie is a prominent member of the most famous family in martial arts. Now these two legends will square off in the first-ever EliteXC event.
Also on the card will be Canada’s own David “The Crow” Loiseau taking on Joey “The Dream Smasher” Villasenor in what promises to be an exciting middleweight fight as well.

Sounds like this is going to be something similar to the UFC's "Ultimate Fight Night" on Spike. Dana White has been trying to get Frank Shamrock to fight in the UFC for years, I would be very interested to know how Pro Elite Inc. got the deal done. One thing is for certain, expectations for these events must be huge because guys like Frank Shamrock, David Loiseau and Renzo Gracie come with hefty price tags......

Yes, Chicago. It's hoo haa... They actually put up job postings in South America just to make the forum boards light up with glee. Reallllllllllly effective too. Volume today was a miserable 20 million shares. So, no... I don't think it's hoo haaa. When south america lights up, BKMP will too. till i see, more than just talk its all hoo haaaaa to me........... no one loves ultimate fighting any more than me, but this company hasnt done anything to impress me, and i dont know why anyone would take offense, this hasnt moved in 3 mo.......... if it shows any signs of life i will jump back in, but its gonna take more than a few phone calls empty promises, and for god sake, whats the deal with south america, whats wrong with north america?????? maybe iraq would be interested too.........

Hey Chicago, I think USA might be a little harder to make deals with. Also, I'm not saying you have to be a BKMP cheerleader, BUT, if it's on your watch list and you really are waiting for something, what's the point of coming here and saying all these negative things? Other than annoying the investors, what are you getting out of it? Not to mention if it really really is a POS you wouldn't be watching it so close. You know it has potential. So whatever, we both know that you dissing it and me praising it won't move it one tick. So what's the point? I come on here to see updates and possibilities. You come on here to make people angry it seems. If you really hate BKMP and think it will NEVER move, there really is no reason to watch it and come here. Agreed? Spike only has UFC, and I watch it. They show the same "Fight Night" pretty much all month long and any other shows they present are old matches featuring one fighter like Matt Hughes or Royce Gracie... TFN is boxing, movies, reports from reputable names, weigh ins, like 3 or 4 MMA leagues, wrestling, etc etc... C'mon, you come here everyday to bash and you don't even know all this? Do your homework P-Diddy...
