Got this email sunday from *********** Date: Sun, 16 Jul 2006 19:57:59 -0000 Subject: [Willy Wizard] MAJOR ALERT for ARET! & New Yahoo Group & Stock Trading Room
MAJOR ALERT for ARET! & New Yahoo Group & Stock Trading Room
A MUST OWN STOCK!!!
I am putting out a MAJOR ALERT for ARET. I firmly believe ARET is about to announce a huge merger with an OIL & GAS company. I do believe the merging company's oil and gas reserves will be in the millions possible approaching 100 million. I believe the merging company has plenty of cash for operating expenses and for additional oil and gas acquisitions. I also believe this stock play will fill all our accounts with mega trading capital once we take profits. In my Weekly email I mentioned .07 to .20 cents is very possible and I do believe it's possible if the valuation is high.
IF YOU EVER WANTED TO MAKE BANK ON A STOCK ARET COULD BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST WINNER WE WILL HAVE THIS YEAR!!!!

Buy the silence. Aret has been quiet lately, all indications are that they are negotiating the merger deal and when the announce the completion this one should run with oil topping all time highs. good luck

I agree with lukin. Now is the time for consolidation, not overreaction. I've been in and out of ARET for about a year now, and this is definitely the time to be in.
Nothing has changed since last week -- they still have a nonrefundable deposit and a firm letter of intent. If they're a few days behind with the PR then that's a golden opportunity to pick up some great bargains.
ARET may be late, but I am confident it will deliver!

Harold, I am no knocking it, I have faith that it will go, have far not sure, but it will go up, all depends on the merger. I have heard nothing back from the CEO and that was almost 2 days ago. (Hopefully busy with the merger) but the deposite was for only 25K I believe, and to me that is not a BIG intent.

k all, just minutes ago got a return phone call from CFO of arete industries, john herzog. nice guy. seemed very forthright and no-nonsense. older guy. sounded like my grandpa fresh out of the coal mine.
said no plans for dilution.
no plans for reverse split.
and in response to the BIG QUESTION: "what's up with the merger with the as-of-yet-unnamed oil and gas company?" he said they're "working their tails off" to complete the merger.
i reminded him that their recent PR said 'no later than mid-july' and he straight-up apologized for that mis-calculation on the time frame and said something to the effect of "things always taking longer than you think they will." i said, "you might want to release a pr to that effect so investors don't lose confidence in your current plans" and mentioned that many on the message boards were disgruntled and losing faith. he said something to the effect of ... 'aw, to hell with them, that's a bunch of 'hog-wash' (referring to the message board chatter, LOL) and said anyone who really wants to invest in this company can read up on our filings, etc. and see the potential this company has right now. then (i know this next question is silly) but i said to him, 'if i were your son, would you tell me to invest in arete?" he said, 'no doubt sir, i would'.
i was glad to have gotten a response at the least. he appreciated my persistence in calling 5 TIMES to get some answers. apparently according to mr. herzog, there will be something "effective" out soon. (good or bad i couldn't get him to say no matter how many round-a-bout ways i tried to pry it out of him.)
he seemed mostly like an honest, old-time colorado mountain/farm boy trying to get some good deals done for the long term of their company.
overall, i've renewed confidence. good luck.

i got the impression that these guys don't exactly move 'fast' in a city-boy kind of way. more like country boy kind of way... especially when it comes to the inherent subjectivity of words like him saying 'soon' with regards to their next pr. however, him calling me back at least renewed my confidence in hanging on to my investment so i don't lose money on this play, and might even stand a nice gain provided my patience remains in check. it may be too why they don't answer emails well... cuz they're old-school (as far as i could gather) through and through.

Phat Man - Thanks for posting your conversation. I'll remain calm and see what happens. I'm going on vacation in a week and was trying to decide if I would hold while I was gone. As of now, I think I'll hold.

topsail and others, while the phone call i had reassured me, PLEASE don't buy, sell or hold based on that. you should call them yourselves to best make a decision. top, i would feel really bad if you left on vacation and this play went back down to 4/28 levels which, despite my SELF-assuring phone call with john, it could do. as ALWAYS, all have to do their own DD. i called about 5 times in the span of a week and only after getting somewhat 'firm' about my need for a return phone call, did they call me back. it may take some persistence, but they exist and should get back to you to answer your own questions. gl

Phat Man - I appreciate your honesty and concern. Fact is though, my position is pretty small at 30K shares. I do have a call into them and also used their website to submit some questions. I won't add to my position until I do get answers from them, but for now I'll hold what I have.
I don't make my decisions based on these boards, but after being on here awhile, there are posters who's info I'll take into consideration.
