I assume that's an innocent contextual error of the use of 'optimistic'. I think he's optimistic that there would be no R/S. Optimistic is usually used as a positive state of being, and wouldn't be appropriate when used in conjunction with an R/S.

TORONTO, Dec 19, 2005 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- First Canadian American Holding Corporation (OTC: FCDH) today announced that it has changed the payable date of the stock dividend from the 21st of December to the 29th of December. This means that any shareholder of record as of the 29th will be entitled to the stock dividend. The dividend consists of one (1) free common share of Suncrest Energy Inc. (OTC: SNYY) for every six (6) shares of FCDH held on December 29, 2005. The NASD will be setting the ex-dividend date and informing the public and brokerage community at large.
"The change in the dividend date gives all our shareholders a chance to make sure that they are the beneficial owners of the shares they have purchased," said Sandy Winick, First Canadian's President. "This way they will be guaranteed to receive the dividend."

This is just wrong. Reward the procrastinators by extending the deadline, punish (a bit) those who jumped on right away. I'm still in, but this sure seems like a bait and switch. Apparently, the PPS didn't increase as much as Sandy hoped/wanted.

Babe, another PR would be great. Matt's information appears to have been correct, but I wonder if this was what Sandy was working on, or if there might be another?

Can anyone tell me how Scottrade handles the paying of stock dividends? They just don't want to answer me at all. Am thinking about jumping ship if their customer service stays this crappy! Anyway, can anyone help me with this?
