For everyone that doesnt know the up to date news.
This is to come
Office Depot (Soon) Dell (preloaded on all computers) Aug sometime Any other smart company along the way
This already done
CompUsa (264 Store bought 3500 units) HP (which is huge) Digital Pursuit
All this amounts to RISE in PPS.
IMHO the news with DELL is the biggest yet to come. Dell the number one or two computer company in the world. If dell is willing to put this on all their computers that says alot about the quality of the Company you are INVESTING in. Top Notch. We already have HP, now DELL, this is only the begining. Welcome along for the ride. Insteading paying to ride. Its paying you to ride. Dont hesitate to ask questions. No question is a dumb question until you ask it three times.(j/k). Its only green days from here.

pens and worm - you seem rather familiar with the company/software. to me it appears they are marketing it as just a product to backup your documents, music, etc. however, i think it would even catch on more with a younger crowd as well, if they marketed it from the angle that you can now basically "carry" your files with you to ANY computer you are using.
lets say you need to get a school report from the library's computer that you had saved at home, you can log onto your spare backup account and just download it. lets say you are at a friends and want to get access to your MP3 collection, hit up the spare backup account.
i gave suzie at newport a call about this a couple days ago but didn't get thru. just thought it may be interesting if they werent already looking at this angle.

Yes, you can log in to your account from another system. Tried it this morning from my other computer and it works. I was able to access my files I had to log on and then re-enter my password again, since the files are encrypted when they are tranfered. Have to used the advanced installation.
They, will target both small businesses and users like you and I.
This is going to be huge, I'll like to see the prmotion that CompUSA will give this one, plus also the pre-install version on DELL, if the deals goes thru. This will be huge!!! The need is there, the demand is there, as speed increases on the internet, look at the number business users that can benefit from this.
Imagine, I am a business man, load all my presentations and contracts to my memory stick, when I arrived at the conference 2000 miles away, the stupid memory stick is not working, now I'm in deep shtt.
Log on to my NWPO account and download my files, since I was smart enough to back-up my files right before i left the office. Thanks heavens I paid $15.99 per month, that saved me a $2 million dollar client.
Good luck,
The above story I sent directly to the company last Monday, got a reply stating very interesting and that someone will call me back.

Yeah pens, definitely great for small businesses (and big ones as well actually.)
I guess we will see how exactly it gets marketed but a large range of consumers can be targeted thats for sure, especially with the amount of people on the internet nowadays affected by a computer virus and lose their files.

I am assumming here, but the company has already spent over $14 million dollars to get this going, I assume if they were planning to start this type of business, they must already have several servers with the fastest processors available to them, lots of storage, Hard drives, they are put in blades so they don't take much space.
You would need fast internet connection, probably they have their own satellite dish, the servers will require to NIC (network interface cards) for the tranfer of data. The more servers and NICS coming in and out the better.
Once all the equipment is bought and put in place the cost is minimal, you must pay your employees, have tape drives for their own backup in case those servers crash. If I'm correct I'm sure they already have paid for the rent, lease or purchase of the building where the servers are going be. I think in was in Ohio and Arizona. Both will be replicating with each other.
Of course they will modify their sofware as new things come out and users request other features. Upgrade of equipment is always a must in the computer field. Important will be adding more equipment if the demand for their services really kicks in.
Of course you have the normal business expenses, but once you have the equipment, you are set to go.
